  1. Do you have this information on the 2017 Jeep Cherokee? This is from the 2017 FMCA towing guide. "Only four-wheel-drive vehicles with a two-speed power transfer unit can be towed four wheels down; before towing, see an authorized Jeep dealer for the Mopar flat tow wiring kit. It’s recommended to charge the battery of the towed vehicle while towing" I had the dealer install the baseplate and lights (Blue Ox) before I took delivery. I made it part of the deal. Your dealer will know someone locally to do the work. They don't do it themselves and you can't be the first wanting to tow a Jeep behind a motorhome to buy there. Bill
  2. See if you can take the latch out and repair it. I just broke the handle on my Splendide and had a hard time finding a reasonable cost replacement part. Finally got one from the manufacturer. Have you pulled it out and pulled the back off to look for data plates? Bill
  3. That is more like 11 years but lack of use/maintenance could be a problem. Bill
  4. I think obedb has the best idea. See if you can splice in a new section of cable and see if that works then worry about pulling a new cable. Bill
  5. First, welcome to the forum. I don't have any info on the Chinese made tires. If you ate sceptical about them I would change them. I would hate to be worried that the tires may blow out when I am trying to have fun on a trip. I like the prices in the Continental program better than what I see from Michelin. Any new tire will ride better than the old ones. You will never wear them out. If you do you will be one of the first I have ever heard of who wasn't driving commercially. Interesting, I did a little digging and found the Goodride tire was listed by the EPA as a low rolling resistance tire. Which doesn't mean to much as it appears from the list that nearly every tire is listed. https://www.epa.gov/verified-diesel-tech/smartway-verified-list-low-rolling-resistance-lrr-new-and-retread-tire Bill
  6. All the major roads have areas that need repair. I was on that section of I-40 from Williams to Amarillo in March and there are some rough spots. Just slow down till you get through that area. Next we will have people complaining because they are working on the roads. Bill
  7. Gee Bill, Yes I am talking about roads not even close to Baton Rouge when obedb is talking about roads West as " worked my way to Tucumcari NM to rejoin 40." I didn't know we were limited to just close to Baton Rouge. Bill
  8. We drove I-10 from the I-10 I-20 merge and didn't see any problem going to Chandler. Well the only problem was the extreme crosswind. Bill
  9. Another fun thing to see in the area is the Kentucky Horse Park. http://www.kyhorsepark.com/ Bill
  10. I have had several people tell me they weren't happy with it and they wouldn't refund their money. The base(car) version works well and has settings for your RV for less money. It is always a good thing to verify any route. Bill
  11. Yes but the OP jpaflag, has a Cat and should be able to install a pump. Bill
  12. If you have a place to install it Here is the Cat style pump. http://www.amtequipmentparts.com/fuel-injection-system/lift-pumps/1052508-pump-priming/?_vsrefdom=adwords&gclid=CjwKEAjwjunJBRDzl6iCpoKS4G0SJACJAx-VLsUy5MZAggCZuV2aTFyjOqYJRI09xsLUN4cvdi2PoRoCEkTw_wcB You might look at finding a hand pump you coud use by modifying a spare fuel cap to add preshure to the tank. In the long run I think the answer is to add a new lift pump like Joe did. Bill
  13. The MKT sounds like it is light enough to tow with the HR Vacationer 32A. Bill
  14. I had WAZE and deleted it because of what Bill A said. I now use CoPilot and it has worked well. (I don't recommend the one for RV.) The good part is you can download all your maps over wifi so you don't use data. You can set parameters for your RV so it won't send you down inappropriate roads. You can also set it to notify you at set distances before a turn, up to 2 miles. I use it on a tablet (12") so it has a bigger screen than those stand alone units. Bill
  15. Well they didn't lie to you. You want to stay off the GW. The last time I got caught and went over the GW it was $76.00. Why not look at going down I-84 and pick up 287 South then I-78 to I-81 to I-83 to Harrisburg then State highway 15 into Gettysburg. Bill
  16. There are places everywhere on any road that the road has rough places. I was on I-40 twice last year and some places are great and some not so great. Bill
  17. The key is to have one. I tried to get buy without one when I got this coach. We had spent a bunch getting ready for our first trip and I thought I can get buy without one for one trip. Well one low power event in a campground cost me more in repairs than 2 surge guards would have cost. I have found that they are well waterproof and have been caught in heavy rain and some flooding where I was concerned that it would be a problem. I had to prop it up on some rocks to keep the connections out of the water but never a problem. Bill
  18. Welcome to the forum. I have the Surge Guard portable. I like it because I can check power before I park the coach or check outher spots without moving the coach if one is bad. This is the one I have. https://www.amazon.com/Technology-Research-34850-Portable-Surge/dp/B00T36QHUO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496890290&sr=8-2&keywords=surge+guard Trust me not having a good one is much more expensive than not having one or a cheap one. Bill
  19. Both Hondas I have came with a valet key. No apparent limit on usage. Bill
  20. plapen, Well glad you got it driving better. I would drive it for a while before you do anything else. I do recommend you get it weighed and set your tire pressure accordingly. Check and see if it has a "panhard rod" if not that would be what I would look att next. The "panhard rod" cuts down on the tail wag. Bill
  21. If you're running lights are on you don't have the key in accessory. This will definitely drain your battery. Did you pull the fuse? Bill
  22. We like Santa Fe Skies RV Park, 14 Browncastle Ranch, Santa Fe, NM 87508 santafeskiesrvpark.com, (505) 473-5946 Bill
  23. I would also check the amperage draw of that compressor. If it is hi or fluctuates it is probbabley going bad. Check the blower motor too. Bill
  24. Both TexanRver and dons2346 make good points. I tend to agree with most of them. I do think cutting out travel and "perks" for the upper management means you won't have anyone wanting to do that job. I think they should be looked at all the same. Attendance at rally's, I believe that Chandler had a large number of "first timers" I seem to remember someone saying the overall membership was up. Maybe it is only down when they want you to vote for letting towables in? I think jleamont is pretty typical of the "younger" RV owner. Still working, has kids still at home and in school with limited travel time. I think it is at the local club and regional rally that will serve his needs and can better addressed them not the Big Super National International interplanetary Rally. Seriously I was at Chandler What's different/better in Indianapolis? Bill
