  1. You have to be ever watchful for low bridges. There is one with little or no real warning on main street in Miles City, Montana 59301. It is only 11'5". I almost got caught and did see someone else with the front of their RV under the edge. I couldn't see if it hit but they were geting the traffic stopped and cleared so he could back up. Never got to stop and didn't see him come into the campground so I don't know if it was damaged. Bill
  2. I feel bad the OP had a problem but that appears to be what happened. Last year when I was up in Montana, the people who pulled in to the campsite next door was having a problem with his toad. I was interested because he had aCR-V like my toad. He was telling me his battery went dead real fast, it only lasted 2-2 1/2houerss. I loaned him my charger and helped him get it unhooked. During the conversation he commented he could see the headlights going dim in his rearview camera. He also stated he ALWAYS put the key in ACC. What he was doing was turning the key all the way off when he turned off the engine and then turned it back past ACC to on. Finally got him to try (with the engine running) just turn the key till the engine shuts off. To double check and see if the headlights/running lights were on. Sometimes it is the simple seaming things that mess you up. Bill
  3. Do you have an inverter in your coach now? Bill
  4. Yes, nice looking place. Not a very good pull through though. Bill
  5. There better be hot water or you will get that "look" all day. Bill
  6. Read carefully what the OP said he did " We follow the guide lines for towing this vehicle to the letter (run engine for five minutes, shift to reverse then to drive then to neutral, leave in acc power) What I copied from the owner's manual. "shift into position D and then into position R before shifting back into position N." The OP was going into N from D not from R as the instructions state. Simple mistake cost 2 transmissions. Bill
  7. Do you have an ice maker in your current refrigerator? If you do the cord from the icemaker is plugged into a circuit from your inverter. The icemaker must have 110 power to work when you are on propane and not hooked to shore power. I ran my propane fridge on propane when driving never a problem. Never found conclusive evidence it was a problem. Don't have it any more as I just installed a residential refrigerator. By the way I am running it using the old outlet for the ice maker behind the refrigerator. Bill
  8. Dynamat is a commonly used as a insulation sound deadener. I would have them use a double layer under the closet where it is hottest. Bill
  9. Like Herman, the first place I would talk to is Texas Custom Coach, in Pipe Creek, TX. Bill
  10. I like this handy tire comparison tool. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ Maybe you can find a Continental near enough to use and save money. I have mentioned before I saved more on the tires for my CR-V than I would for my coach. Bill
  11. Carl ought to know some good places on Galveston Island. Bill
  12. All I know is Land Rover Dallas has the following new Land Rover models: Land Rover LR4, Discovery Sport, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, and Evoque. They are not towable on a dolly or 4 down. The problem (going back to the OP) is you must follow the manufacturer's instructions to the letter or you will have a problem. The OP did not and replaced 2 transmissions. We are talking 2012 Ford Edge FWD 2.0 4 cylinder. The takeaway for future readers is it is important to understand and follow the manufactuers instructions when geting ready to tow. Bill
  13. Yes look here for information. I would get it as soon as you can because I have heard they are going up to $80.00. Even so it is a deal. It covers everyone in the car. https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm Texas also has a pass. http://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/park-information/passes Bill
  14. You might look here. https://www.boondockerswelcome.com/SearchByState/US/TX OR https://www.allstays.com/Campgrounds/Texas-public-campgrounds-map.htm Bill
  15. Look at the link for the electric garbage trucks they show the battery packs. They have gotten smaller as they have gotten more powerful. Bill
  16. What year was that information for? I looked at Remco's web site and went back 4 years and found NO Land Rover of any model that was towable 4 down or with a dolly. All were listed as "MUST BE TOWED ON A TRAILER" There may have been an older one with a different transmission or a manual transmission. http://www.remcoindustries.com/Towing/Store.php Bill
  17. I can't believe VZ wasn't aware of the fact that this was a organization where it could grow in membership and there was no cap on membership. This is not like a company where you have a fixed number of employes. Bill
  18. Welcome to the forum. Not enough information on your Onan. What model is it and how are you determining it was overtemp. Did you pull the codes? What were the codes? Bill
  19. Herman, look at the GE video I posted a link to. They have a new factory up at Alliance making electric drive motors for big earthmovers and mining equipment. The closest right now you might be able to use the systems in the garbage trucks on aRV platform. Bill
  20. I would highly recommend geting one. It is MUCH cheaper than fixing damages. Ask me how I know. Bill
  21. Pretty dumb to cancel your plan before you have the new service and have tested it. Bill
  22. That would be something similar to this. https://www.wired.com/2016/07/tesla-co-founder-making-electric-garbage-trucks-jet-tech-not/ GE has built a new factory (in the Alliance Corridor) to make electric drive motors for mining equipment. They also make new train engins and refurbish old ones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYjlE4Mno3c The technology is there it just needs someone to put it together at an affordable price. Bill
  23. I agree with Joe, You need a way to test the pedestal before allowing power to your coach. I think the tester is ok for a "snapshot" of what the power is right now it doesn't take the place of a good Surge Guarde. The problem as has been covered is the power may not stay constant. I think there are maney more low power/voltage issues than hi or over voltage. It is not just one area that has problems. I have had/seen problems from Galveston Island to Oregon to Maine. There are only 2 kinds of campers those who have had power issues and those who will. Bill
  24. George, can you plug into the jack on the pedestal with a phone to verify you have service and a dial tone? I am assuming you are somewhere you expect to have land line service. Just wondering why you need a landline. I haven't had one in about 5 years. Bill
