  1. Just wondering why at least some of these things weren't caught when you did your inspection prior to taking delivery? Like "non-functioning generator, crack in the exterior fiberglass wall, vehicle tends to wander when driven, entry step not working". You did take it for a test drive didn't you? Bill
  2. I want to add that it would be a good idea to get a clear sewer hose adapter so you can see if it is flowing clear after you flush out the tank. They come in many angles and length so you should be able to find one that works. I used this as it was the first good picture. You can get them from Camping world or Amazon or walley world. All the instructions on flushing your tank are great but you need this little window to see if it is working. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Camco-39562-Clear-Sewer-Hose-Adapter-3.5-Adapter/54409461?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227057519621&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=161506821305&wl4=pla-269335435589&wl5=9027284&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=54409461&wl13=&veh=sem Bill
  3. Welcome to the forum. After reading the excellent advice the only thing I can add is make sure the valves are closed and go have some fun with your new toy. Let us know how the first trip went. Bill
  4. Welcome to the forum Bob. I have been through that area but didn't spend night there. I would use http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ and http://www.rvparky.com/ to look for a place to stay. The place we stayed was East of Conneaut and I wouldn't recommend it to people I didn't like. Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum. That looks like a nice coach. Bill
  6. Welcome to the forum. The gas units are fairly noisy. Like DD said check the exhaust system for leaks. Onan may have a upgrade muffler you could try. The outher thing to check is the rubber mounting brackets as they are probbabley hard with age and transmitting more vibration to your coach. Let us know what you find out. Bill
  7. Welcome to the forum. Did it cool off later? Was the door closed all the way? Bill
  8. Welcome to the forum. Most likely what you are hearing is the valve releasing excess preshure from the system. This is normal unless you arn't building air preshure on your gages. Bill
  9. I can't find where they offer one for 2017 in either FMCA or Remco. The 2016 shows to be towable with the manual transmission. http://www.remcoindustries.com/Towing/Store.php Bill
  10. Carl, that was the sugar coated version. He has a GM guy with tools and knowledge just minutes away. I would be on the phone/road. Bill
  11. Welcome to the forum. Not without rewiring them so they are hot all the time. Some have run a charge line to keep the battery up and tied into that for power to run the Blue Ox Patriot brake. Or you could just run a new circuit from the battery to power a separate socket for the brake. Let us know how it works. Bill
  12. At this point My best recommendation would be to take it to your friend (you said he is familiar with it) and say PLEASE fix it. Bill
  13. What do you have for a toad? Have you looked at towing a car on your travels? You might like to look at the Bounders of America site, http://www.bounder.org/ You might find a chapter near you or a FMCA chapter/club that you can join. Bill
  14. New rotor cap, plug wires, plugs wouldn't hurt. I would look at all the vacuum lines. Make sure it is getting spark advance. I would change all the fuel filters and check fuel pressure. I would recommend you get with Blake. Let us know what you find. Bill
  15. Carl is right, I don't know of any (modern) car that will show milage when towed. Bill
  16. I posted some ideas on your outher post. There are several outher things you might find useful. I recommend you get a surge protector if you don't already have one. I use a Surge gard http://trci.net/products/surge-guard-rv/hardwires-portables/50a-portable-w-lcd-display I like the portable because I have used it to check power before geting the coach setup. Heare are some apps you might find usefull. http://www.rvparky.com/ http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ CoPilot USA, I use the basic version as the RV version has gotten some bad reviews. The basic"car" version has worked very well and you can download the maps on WIFI so you don't use data. Passport America can save you 50% on campgrounds. Yelp, helps you find good places to eat and outer things. Oh, Ranger, locates state and local parks and other interesting things. Gas Buddy, Find cheap gas Visitor Tips, This is like the rack of brochures at the local visatercenter. Rest Stops, finding the next one is always a good thing. Let me know if you have any questions. Bill
  17. Welcome to the form. Nice coach. One thing you got by getting a new Bounder is the new 6 speed transmission. I happen to be a bounder fan two. One thing you might find fun is to spend a night in your driveway. Act like you are at a campsite. This will help you "remember" to add things you will need to your coach. Have a pad and pencil handy to make a list of the things you forgot. I like your plan of just going a short way on your first trip. This way you can get into your campsite and set up without the stress of being tired from your first driving experience. Let us know how it went. Bill
  18. Welcome to the forum. Un like some applications in cars where you need to get the rpm up to get boost and you can feel that surge as boost kicks in you won't feel it in your coach or the seat of your pants. I two recommend you get a good boost gage and a EGT (exhaust gas temperature) gage. When climbing hills if you start to slow down, I down shift to keep engine speed up. Put anouther way, if you can't hold speed or accelerate in a gear down shift till you can. This will allow your engine to run cooler and performs better. Here are some information on your engine. 350 hp @ 2400 rpm 860 lb-ft @ 1440 rpm Peak Torque. http://www.rvtechlibrary.com/engine/Cat_C7_Specs.pdf Bill
  19. Yes my bad I should have pointed out I use the basic CoPilot and haven't tried the RV version. The reviews didn't look that good. With any navigation device I like to look at a map to verify the route. In Settings under Vehicle Routing Profiles You might see if changing some of the preferences improve your results. Bill
  20. Good!! Well atleast we have decided it wasn't a problem with the generator. Bill
  21. I am going to Palo Duro Canyon The 26th to 29th. If you go up to Amarillo I would recommend. Overnite RV Park, 900 S Lakeside Dr, Amarillo, TX 79118, overnitervpark.com, (806) 373-1431 You and your friends should visit The Big Texan Steak Ranch & Brewery, 7701 Interstate 40 Access Rd, Amarillo, TX 79118, bigtexan.com, (806) 372-6000. Try to eat the 72 0z steak challenge. They have a limo that will come and pick you up at the rv park. We have also stayed at Oasis RV Resort, 2715 Arnot Rd, Amarillo, TX 79124 myrvoasis.com, (806) 356-8408 It is on the West side of town. Something else interesting is the "ART" installation known as Cadillac Ranch,I-40 Frontage Rd, Amarillo, TX 79124, (630) 313-0187 Bill
  22. Welcome to the forum. You are correct it is hard to get out of round tires to run smooth. Where did you take it? Bill
  23. Jason, While I am not a retired Allison fluids engineer nor have I played one on TV. I couldn't resist. I have in a past life run an oil analysis lab when in the AF. What one sample does is give you a snapshot of the condition of the fluid. It wouldn't hurt to change the filters and top off the fluid. I would sample again when you do your annual. What you want to look for is contamination and how much the wear metals go up between samples. I have switched to Blackstone because they give universal averages for the level of wear metals for a component. This gives you a better handle on what you are seeing. Bill
  24. Well here again I don't know but suspect you can pull more power on shore power than with the generator. When you check the amp load see if you can check each ac and see/make shure they are on separate circuits. Electrical Gremlins are as much fun as shooting a 2" scandium S&W 44mag. Bill
  25. Well back to the non gun problem. I am inclined to think you are on the right path. Look at what was done to the AC. This is mostly guessing with out hands on or schematics for your coach, but. It kind of sounds like something (suspicious of the repaired ac) is causing a high load event causing a self resetting circuit breaker to trip. After things cool down it resets and the process starts over. It would be helpful to know what the amp load is when it shuts down. Bill
