  1. The probe should be before the turbo. A good place is where the tubes come together, you will get more accurate results. Best practice is to remove the turbo to catch any shavings so they don't go through the turbo. Bill
  2. The overheating is driven when you are trying to accelerate under load even WOT and you can't accelerate or maintain speed. The old term for this is "lugging the engine" If you can't accelerate in a gear or maintain speed you need to reduce the load. You can do this by slowing down and or gearing down till you can accelerate or maintain speed. Having good boost and EGT gages will help you know what is going on. Your EGT temps will climb very quickly much quicker than water temperature. Gearing down will also increase your RPM at a given road speed. Be aware what your max RPM is so you don't go over it. I have been geting lots of experience last few days on I-15.Today we moved from Brigam City to Moab. Got off I-15 south of Spanish Fork onto 89 then 6 / 191 to I-70 then 191 to Moab. Amazing senarey and you will get a lot of experience driving hills. Bill
  3. Hopefully it is something that can be fixed easily and you can get on your way. Bill
  4. I run at 65-66 as my coach doesn't shift into 6th till 65. I am not complaining I have been geting right at 9mpg. Probably a little less on the last tank as I have been up to West Yellowstone and down I-15 to Brigham City. My CR-V is geting about 32-34 even under tough conditions in the National Parks. Bill
  5. It doesn't matter what you buy you will have maintence cost. You could buy a newer one and have more problems. Like I said buy it and go camping. Bill
  6. Welcome to the forum. Brett is right best place to get the facts is Cummins. The temp could vary based on when it was made. Please add your coach to your signature so you can get better answers in the future. Bill
  7. I don't know for sure on your coach but on my coach if the fluid level is low it thinks the jacks are still down. I would check the reservoir and top it up and see if that helps. Look at the jacks and see if they are all the way up. I would check and top off the brake reservoir and tell us what you find. Bill
  8. Good luck getting anyone to agree to that. Bill
  9. The first question is what is your skill/experience level? If you are experienced in traveling on narrow two lane roads you shouldn't have a big problem on either rout. If you don't feel comfortable I would stay on major roads as much as possible. Bill
  10. Try a search on handling problems. This is a fairly common subject. I would look at a rear track bar to help control the sway (sideways) from passing trucks. Bill
  11. The "Amanan's" are a different group not Amish or Mennonites. You will find it interesting the shops on the main tourist street close at 5:00 PM and the restaurants at about 7:00. There is still a big factory in one of the villages where they make Amana appliances. The RV park is interesting as if you are the first it is a pull through if not it is a back in and you share the power pedestal. You could end up with only a 30 amp plug available and the utilities on the wrong side of the coach. Is the SR-71 fast? well one time I was watching a launch on a clear day. I started timing from the moment he started to roll till he was out of sight, 55 seconds was all it took. You could hear him a lot longer but you couldn't see him. Yes I would say it was faster than advertised. Bill
  12. Herman, look up The Amana Colonies, It might be a day trip while they are working on your coach. We stayed at the RV park a couple weeks ago, amanarvpark.com, not great, but interesting area. Blake, I like the RV park at Cabela's stayed there 2 years ago. The SR-71 Blackbird is an amazing plane. I have worked on a couple of them when I was in the AF. Bill
  13. Go to this page and follow the instructions, You need to be signed in. http://www.fmca.com/benefits/75-motorhome-trip-routing.html Bill
  14. Hear is a link. https://coach-net.com/Products/Hazard-Protect Bill
  15. Most need the pedal to be moved up or down. The sprayer hose tees in after the water valve. Bill
  16. Has anyone had experience with the new tire program Coach Net is offering? If it is as good as the road side assistance it may be a viable option. Bill
  17. "I am not dismissing your advice as yet." Quite frankly I Don't care if you dismiss my advise as I don't have to pay for your repairs. Bill
  18. Welcome to the forum. Here is what Remco has to say. http://www.remcoindustries.com/Towing/Store.php I have a 2012 Civic and there is NO way to make it towable 4 down. I used a dolly. Now I have a CRV all wheel drive that can be towed 4 down but not on a dolly. Bill
  19. I would trade the one I couldn't tow in on one I could tow. I am much happier having one I can tow 4 down. I have watched and actually helped people trying to move a car trailer. It isn't fun when you don't have room at your site or the campground won't let you keep it at your site. Bill
  20. The main benefit is the ability to tow a car that otherwise couldn't be towed 4 down. You need to check the manual carefully to see if it can be towed on a dolly or 4 down. Look at the FMCA towing guide. You can allso look at Remco.com to see if they make adapters make a car towable (lube pump or disconects). I used a tow dolly for a couple of years then bought my current car that can be towed 4 down. I prefer towing 4 down but would use a dolly if that was the only way to take a car with me. I WOULD NEVER TRAVEL WITHOUT A TOAD!!!! The weight restrictions are based on what your coach is rated to tow and your hitch restrictions. Obviously the lighter the better with in reason. Bill
