"Can anyone recommend a tire insurance company that actually delivers on advertised promises in the event we should have a tire issue while traveling." I think you are talking about The FMCA Roadside Assistance Program. You can read more here. http://www.fmca.com/benefits/fmca-roadassist.html Bill

Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Montreal & Quebec Campgrounds
wildebill308 replied to norsula's topic in Campgrounds
Just a comment, I must be in the minority, I look for campgrounds as a base camp not as a destination. Not complaining and I have saved this place for the next time I am up that way. By the way I have pictures of the American falls with no water going over it. Bill -
This is worth trying. I have used the pressure relief valve to drain a little water out. I hadn't thought of the hose method. Bill

Fresh Water Tank Fills By Itself
wildebill308 replied to BruceN53's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I would cycle the fill valve a couple of times as there may be debris or mineral deposits keeping it from sealing. I would make it a habit of using a pressure regulator. Some parks you don't need it but some have really high pressure. You will find a disclaimer in most contracts that the park is not responsible for damage because of hi water pressure. Bill -
Rural Speed Traps This Summer
wildebill308 replied to andyshane's question in Destinations/Attractions
Not just in Lipan but all over. There is always a big push on holidays. Yesterday there were 6 or 7 units working the West 820-I-30 interchange area. I also saw several state police and different sheriff's department cars on the back way to Burleson. Bill -
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new coach. I would get the package of manuals that came with the coach out and see if you can find anything about the chassey. Some of the Ford chassis came with helper springs or airbags. Have you actually had it drage in normal use? Have you had it weighed to see what each wheel location weight is? Front to rear weight? How much clearance do you have? How does it drive going down the highway when you test drove it on the freeway with traffic? There are many things to help your suspension but first let's try simple things. Might be as simple as adding air to existing air bags. Bill

Motorhome OR Towable … Which is Right for You?
wildebill308 commented on diyrvguy's blog entry in DIY RV Guy
You can add a recliner or two. There have been several do that just recently. Here is a link that may give you ideas. I am in the camp that thinks the added storage in a class A makes it the better choice for long stays or trips. Bill -
Ken, Glad you got home safe. That would have been a 3 day run for me. I hope they comped the new fuel pump and the labor as it was their mistake. Did they say it was algae clogging the hose? I would run a bottle of Diesel Kleen and once in awhile a bottle of the biocide to keep the algae under control. I doubt you will have a problem with gelling in the summer. Having a couple extra filters is always a good thing. As you have heard the first thing recommended if you have a problem is "change the filters". Bill

Welcome to the forum. The down side is you will have a more efficient and flexible system, who would want that. By the way good move upgrading to the bigger units. Bill

Extended Warranty From Wholesalewarranty.net
wildebill308 replied to kalynzoo's topic in Extended Service Policies
I am on the side that self insures. Put what you would pay for the warranty aside in a savings account. I have seen to many exclusions and denials when reading the fine print, that I am saving money. Bill- 25 replies

Ken, welcome to the forum. Are you saying they changed filters after Cummins started to troubleshoot? "Mechanic said could see it calling for appropriate pressure but delivery dropping." I hate to say it but my SWAG is filters or fuel pump. Let us know what the expert finds. Bill

Welcome to the forum. I am betting you can call and change the information. Have you called and asked? Bill

Suspension Upgrades: 2011 Ford F53 Chassis

For the money the first thing I would add is a rear track bar. Bill -
Suspension Upgrades: 2011 Ford F53 Chassis
wildebill308 replied to john.leto@yahoo.com's topic in Chassis
I think that is possible. Drive axle -12,600, Steer axle - 6,540 with a total of 19,140 would be believable. How does that weight compare to the listed weight in your coach? Did you have full tanks? Were you loaded like you were going on a trip? Bill -

I would talk to the place that did the weight. Did you have your toad hooked up at the time? Bill -
It is nice to find someone who knows their job. Bill

I haven't had a chance to look at it. I would do nothing till I had a good Boost and EGT gage. I highly recommend them because of the useful information they make available. Bill

Suspension Upgrades: 2011 Ford F53 Chassis
wildebill308 replied to john.leto@yahoo.com's topic in Chassis
Let me try to help with the basics. Look in the yellow pages for a place that has a truck scale. Look for a "CAT" scale or something like that. The best process is to weigh each wheel (this is the best as it will tell if you are heavier on one corner) next best is each axle. Now go to the website of the company that made your tiers. (what brand do you have?) They have a chart that shows the minimum inflation pressure for the weight, you always go +10% for safety. you may be able to reduce the tire pressure and get a better ride. One other thing always run the same pressure on a axle, you you use the tier pressure that is required for the heaviest side. You also need your weight when looking at suspension upgrades. See the link Jleamont posted. What size tires are you running? Bill -
Suspension Upgrades: 2011 Ford F53 Chassis
wildebill308 replied to john.leto@yahoo.com's topic in Chassis
Jleamont is right I would get the unit weighed and adjust the air in the tires. I might look at a all wheel alignment or at least get it checked. The first mod I would do is the rear track bar. The next is upgrade front and rear sway bars. I Need more info on how it is moving that is causing the problem. Please describe it as if you are sitting in the drivers seat. Bill -
Atwood Water Heater GC10A-3E Propane Issue
wildebill308 replied to GeorgeP's topic in Systems and Appliances
Something I didn't see mentioned would be to use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts on the circuit board where the wires plug in. I hope you can find the problem. Bill -
Rich, most of the batteries used in aviation are a sealed NiCad type so they don't have the problem with outgassing acid. In addition, the compartment is primed with a Zinc chromate epoxy prime. The article you linked to talks about battery maintenance. Any maintenance done to the structure would be covered by a separate TO covering corrosion prevention. Ok back to the OP. Cleaning and prep are absolutely key in getting good results. You need to kill the existing corrosion and any residual acid or the paint won't last. I would think that Rustoleam makes a primer and a good corrosion resistant paint for your application. Bill
