  1. Works for you? Works for me! Up until a year ago, I traveled alone also. Linda has her own Phaeton 40 DP, that she's in 50% of the time. Now, it's in the shop getting a few things fixed (she backed into a 10'x4" metal pipe, that was set in 5' of cement, in ground)! We are in mine!
  2. Santa Monica, CA. to Chicago, Ill. Used to take about 1,000+/= miles of it, From CA, to Wickenburg, AZ. This was before I-10. Still do parts of it, when in AZ. Has it's good and bad stretches! I generally park the coach and use the toad, as there are hundreds of side roads, mostly un paved. I carry 5, 1 gal. jugs of water and 3 day supply of dried meat, anytime I go exploring in toad...unless, I'm going to the market.
  3. super8mm. What is your CCC ? My 425 Cummins DP. GVWR 46,700, GCWR 56,000 and CCC 61,000 ! My total weight, including Jeep & Linda, 54,019. Jim S. Without Linda, it drops about 1,000# !
  4. Mike. Same thing with my Policy. I have had Progressive and was happy with them, but they kept charging me for a much higher value than my coach is now worth...I told them that if they had someone that would pay me $290K, send them over! National is also good. That's what Linda has on her 40 Phaeton! Carl
  5. Richard. The original Custom Coach is alive and well, the Founder is also alive & well, his L# 145 FMCA and was just inducted into the MH/Hall off Fame in Elkhart, IN. CCC 7052 Americana Parkway, Columbus, Ohio 1-800-331-3188 or 1-614-863-6470, they still build shells, does conversions and service any coach that they built or converted to a MH and it's components! Carl C.
  6. Ask Kohler, their the experts, am not and apparently your not either!!!
  7. Cost is in direct proportion of the Type, size, year and cost or value of coach. Same as a car...Bentley is $4,200 a year, Jeep is $1,200, coach is $2,400. First 2 are with USAA, coach is State Farm. Also it depends on the amount of coverage and deductible. AAA may be good for 210driver, but I would not know, as I and you don't know what kind of coach he has...A, C, or B.
  8. Richard. I had my bushing replaced at 803 hours, Onan recommended bearing change at 8,000 hours. I can't see where Kohler would come in at 250! Now the person might have got a little confused, I have my Onan serviced every 300 hours...oil, check filter, fuel filter, oil filter, yours should be around same schedule!
  9. There's also Toyota TRD, Toyota Tacoma 4x4, Nisan 4x4, along with GM Canyon 4x4 and Chevy Colorado 4x4...All trucks. Your choice in New or used.
  10. John. Great photos! Camera or ? Carl
  11. AC. send a PM to Desert Deal 69 and ask him about the bags he has in each tire for balancing. He's tested them for well over a year now! Just right click on his Avatar and click on envelope!
  12. No Ken. If we all got together over a campfire, this topic would not come up! A adult beverage works and talk about where we have been, RV Parks, what's next on "bucket list"? Etc., yes! PC blah, blah...does not belong at a Meet & Greet. Am not PC to begin with, nor am I a hugger of anything, other than my SO. If Keon want's to sing KumBaya or We are the children, then he and Joe L., can try it under water!
  13. A good bargain in Sedona, is don't stay there. Camp Verde Casino RV park is where we stay...an hour away by Jeep. Good rates, cement pads and paved roads.
  14. bsjones11. They are both the same. Oasis is a newer version and much more compact/lighter. Does the same job and cost less! AH came out in 1984, Oasis came out in 1998 and has evolved along with technology ever since! AH finally snapped to the idea that a unit did not have to be big/heavy, so in 2008 came out with the 450. Go with Oasis! IMHO.
  15. Is the Solar Panel and charger, for Chassis batteries or house? is your coach stored outside and plugged in to shore power? When your on shore power is your coach set up to charge both start and house batteries?
  16. When my DW and I joined, we had a 4 digit number...back then, 2 different last names was not an acceptable thing, even though we where married in our church, I worked International and my wife paid the bills and FMCA put everything in her name. Just to give you a background check Pamela Kay! Lately, there has been way to many important decisions made by the EB and by passing Governance! How can we, the National Directors, allow our Chapter members voices be heard, if things of importance is not brought to our attention? All I get from your post, is a bunch of PC speak, that's suppose to keep the owners of FMCA, from asking to many questions. If I may make a suggestion Pamela, read Policy and Procedure for FMCA and maybe you might understand why the members/owners of FMCA is unhappy! Ernie. I do agree with you! Every person on Governance, gets no compensation and no re imbursement for expenses...Pamela and her staff is paid employees, by and for FMCA (for profit) Company. We are part of FMCA (Not for Profit) Corp!
  17. There you go Jim. Don't sugar coat it, tell it like it is! I gave up. It's getting old. Just one last thought, I was under the impression that the 19 model was 9 speed and push button start?
  18. Jim S. Changing the Mag. name, I'm afraid, is just the tip of the Ice Berg! Would it not be hilarious, if all of a sudden, GS became a Motorized Coach only club? I'm a Charter Club & Life Member!
  19. Roadmaster 6000, $700, Safety cables & connectors at Tractor Sy. $60+/-, M&G installed $1,100. Next time I'll install my own M&G. I don't use a base plate! The Roadmaster and cables, was also used on 2 Colorado 4x4 and another Jeep!
  20. I am very suspicious of any entity, that sends a e mail, wanting personal information! I suspect it was NOT Verizon and hope you did not comply! Call Dan Ball at FMCA Member Services or scroll up on this thread and get his mail add.
  21. If your not having any handling or driving issues, then no. I would have recommended the self balancer bean bag in each tire, before installation.
