  1. Judy. Welcome to the Forum! If you don't find what your looking for, send a PM to Rich (DickandLoise)! Or call 800-543-3622 and ask for Member Services! Good Luck.
  2. Acid batteries or AGM. if acid have you looked at level of water and added as needed? Checked the ground wires for corrosion or bad, loss connection? any of them swollen and how old are they? Have you turned on the generator and gotten the same result? What line of work are you in? Reason I ask, if your a consultant or contractor and making more than $70 an hour...take the car and rent a hotel room. Then take care of coach, when you have time!
  3. When you say, Voltage bounces from 14.2 to 12.6, is that fast back and forth? Or does it go to 14.2, then drops to 13.7+/-, then 12.6 and stays there. That's normal.
  4. Richard. Thanks for bringing the subject up. We think about the tires and discuss same, all the time. You reminded me about the rim, we seem to forget that the wheel size is equally as important as the tire! Perhaps even more so, due to the weight we have added to the chassis!
  5. TT. Not when the water is from melted ice or snow and it's near freezing outside! Regular water on slide don't bother me, just tilt the coach. There is also run out slots on each side of the slide inside the coach, so any water that comes in goes right back out.
  6. The biggest problem...aside from cost...as I see it, with wash & wax, is you can't do the windows! With the Lucas, we also use it on the windows! Now, I'm beginning to wonder if the Bon Ami (powder) will clean the bugs off of, my diamond shield? I think I'll have a glass of wine, while I consider this further! Other problem is, I have no Bon Ami! Jim S. Back when I drank all that 80 to 150+ proof stuff. I thought Yukon Gold was the best whiskey! Pendleton was a close 2nd. Scotch was my choice, single malt Highland. Blended scotch, I went for Famous Grouss (darn Chinese spell check)!
  7. I'll be nice and get Herman a six pack.
  8. Glad you posted it and not Herman! He's like me on beer. I have 3 bottles left, of a 6 pack of Bud Light, that I bought for the last Perry Rally, 2 years ago!!!
  9. I can attest to that. Herman talked me into the same route 2 years ago. Very scenic, but this 45 footer is in no hurry to that road again! I-81 is a good highway, but a lot of long hills and curves, in my Diesel I had no problems, your gasser is going to be slow on the long uphill's and probably be following a bunch of 18 wheelers most of the time! I would take I-95 to Richmond, then I-64 to I-81 to Conn. By the time you get 300 miles up the road, you'll not feel intimidated at all.
  10. Bill. I run my tires at 115, rated for 125 cold. In December, due to cold weather, I put 125 in all 8 tires. Tuesday, I checked all 8 after a round trip to NE Texas, and they where at 105 to 112...Cold will do that. Just as heat will do the opposite.
  11. Your coach is almost new...no guarantee that your batteries are! I like to check mine at the posts, you could have a dead cell and it would not be shown at the panel. If they are all 6.4 for 6V or 12.6 for 12V at the post, your good to go!
  12. Bill. Welcome. Is there a reason, for you not moving the rig now, and go to Allison in E. Houston? Mobile Tech, can be very expensive.
  13. I can see it being a safety issue, in regards to Jacks. On mine as long as brake is set, I can leave engine running and operate slide outs. I have to turn key to on, before slides are operational. My only wish, is that I had a relay, that would prevent me from disconnecting brake with slides out. If I'm on Jacks, I can't turn off brakes! I mostly use my Air leveling. John. As long as I have had a slide out, I have never had to replace a motor! My first slide out was in 1997, for 30 years prior to that, I had no slides! Must say, life was simpler.
  14. Jim S. Did you mean "Sugar & Gas"? DBenoit. Have a friend, that sold her house on Lake Winni, (Real Estate Broker in Laconia for 28 years) and moved back to Texas. During all the years she lived up there, she flew to Houston, Texas, to have her hair & nails done, every 2 weeks during winter...no cabin fever! Joe. In the Hill Country, we probably have 100+ Wineries, in a 60 sq. mile area! Seems like Fredericksburg, TX., gets a new estate monthly! There is one that is a combination Wine & Dud Ranch, on 1,600 acres, just South of Johnson City (Past POTUS LBJ birthplace). Bet Mike went there.
  15. Bon Ami in powder form, sprinkle in SS sink, with just enough water to make a loss past. I used real fine steel wool to clean, rinse. Never seen in liquid form for spraying on windows!!! My grandmother and mother, used Vinegar & News paper to clean windows and mirrors....I still do that. Herman. If you can find "Spray on Bon Ami", even in old advertisement. I'll keep you in Beer for a year! Ross. Never seen it in cake form (solid or semi solid)! It's been around since 1886 as a powder. Still is a powder, only thing added since original formula of Feldspar & wood ash, is Carbonate and Bicarbonate (baking soda for odor control).
  16. John. I just remembered. My rear passenger slide motor was under the bottom drawer of the bureau. On my WB 40.
  17. lenp. I can and do that with mine. Same, when I had the 2007 WB 40 Tour. My 2011 Allegro Bus, was wired so that I could not, per Tiffin it's a safety issue! My SO, has a Phaethon 40 and she can not run engine and run slides or Jacks!
  18. Jim. Understood. I thought you went other places than just PNW. With all the moisture there, do you feel kinship to a mushroom? Auto gen for me, is a must have. Dedicated battery for generator is not a bad thought. When it gets cold enough, my generator takes time to start, even with a full battery, it warms up first then kicks in...mine is a 10Kw. Luck to you.
  19. Yea. They are slowly rebuilding Aransas Pass. Pioneer RV Park is open and so is the golf course next door! Further up in Rockport, the RV Parks are open, including Lagoons. The Oyster Fest for Fulton is on...March 1-4. That's 2 miles from Rockport. What your calling North Padre Island, we call Mustang Island. This has been a Wild Fall and Winter for Texas, I hope this fall/winter of 18/19 will be back to normal, along with temps. Joe, Mike. Your both right as far as the coast goes...there are other as good or better RV parks in Texas! Mike, you don't like Palmetto State Park in LA?
  20. Jim. When I have to press the start assist, it starts the engine, charges batteries, then I start my Generator...I can't use the assist for generator. The generator only charge the house battery packs, not the 2 start batteries!
  21. Joe. Jim S. is right, Crawfish/Crayfish/Crawdads/Mudbugs, is known as, "Poor man's lobster", in the South! Jim S. Joe knows what that is, also "a cow Psg on a flat rock"! Mike. The sacrifice, is not meatless Friday. It's the 40 days after Fat Tuesday! Think I'll have a glass of wine now...I'm a Norwegian Lutheran!
  22. Crestview RV Service in Buda, Texas, next door to Cabbala's on Service rd off I-35.
  23. Jim. Since you want to boon dock, do you have any solar panel/panels? If you really want to get expert advise, send a PM to Bill Edwards!
  24. Extension poles can be bought at a paint store for a lot less than with the wash wax system...Linda got the system for her DP at Six State...$200+, she used it once and went back to my way. Lucas slick mist and micro fiber..$15 + pole = $42. It works! I also use it on my 2005 AMG 55 Roadster and 1972 Bentley. This January was Wash the coach, before using Lucas. With all the sleet, snow and rain, between the Hill Country of Texas and Harlingen, Texas...my coach was gray with road grime. The RV Park gave me an OK to wash both coaches by a bucket and rinse by hose. Took us 3 days!
