  1. I'm sure glad that's been clarified, Joe completely confused me! In Texas you need a CDL "B", non commercial on anything over 26,001...written and driving test but no parallel parking. My only problem for both, was finding a City that knew about it and had the facility to administer both test and driving! Galveston is archaic in most things legal! Carl
  2. rubysdad. Welcome to the Forum. Most owners of DP's that have been around a while, started with gas units and we still remember them! Having said that, I agree with campcop and also recommend that you check with your dealer, manufacturer and chassis builder. Safe-T-Steer has been around since the late 70's that I know about, and I have used them on gas coaches from 24 to 32 foot, also on a 40' DP! Carl
  3. A metal fabrication shop should be able to make the tabs and weld them on, then drill new holes ! Carl
  4. You could also call Monaco...they might still have them in stock or cross ref. to another manufacturer! Carl

A big welcome to all. Hope you enjoy both FMCA and the Forum! Carl
  6. Bill Very interesting hitch. Not one I have seen! Carl

Have you removed it yet? Or will you remove it at home? 05' not used is not worth a lot off money, maybe $100....they have changed a lot in the past 11 years!
  8. Ask the Tire Guy, he is the expert in all things tire! If you really want to know...send him a PM. Carl
  9. Roger. We don't argue on this Forum! We try to help others and sometimes we miss, that's human nature! Why did you join this Forum? Is there something we can help you with? Carl
  10. Pack warm! I spoke with Fantasy about going 2 years ago...call them and they will answer all your questions and concerns! Carl
  11. Joe. Forget about skillet corn bread and scratch chili or, stew! Hard to regulate heat, that's why I went with regular electric...I love Cajun food and it's long cooking, unless your deep frying, now that you can do on Induction! I also love my cast iron and other cookware. Carl
  12. Ray. At 95K, you already have a very sweet deal! I have passed the word, and contact info, to the 13 Shrine Temples in Texas! 10 have RV clubs! Carl
  13. David. Great to hear from you again and happy you had a great first outing! I'm not opposed to the CRV, just a Jeep Wrangler guy! All depends on your life style. If I can't level by jacks or air...I'm out. I'll find a truck stop or Wall Mart, even in a storm! I stopped using blocks off wood for leveling 30+ years ago, now I use them to block front wheels when parked ! I'll be in Perry, perhaps we'll see you at the Forum get together the 17th at 5pm! Carl
  14. Joe. You need to roam around the Forum more. Your living a sheltered life! Your HOA is the Borough, whatever a borough is? Herman probably has a boro and I have a pair of ughs! Carl
  15. Herman. Confused. GY? Why did you not use the fleet program for your replacements? I also saw his price... Carl
  16. Get in touch with Remco....they say it's good, then go with it! Remco has been in the tow business for a long time! Sorry, you had to wait so long for a response! Carl
  17. I recognized my mistake after I posted! Tried to edit and could not.... Carl
  18. Gary. A Staker trailer, regardless of manufacturer, comes with 2 or 3 axles, depending on length/load. Mine was 34', 3 axles and held a 31' Scarab Cigarette with 2 engines, each at 640 hp! I pulled it with a 450 Centurion by Ford! This was back in 1994-2000, had I to do it over, I would have had a DP with the biggest CAT I could find. Carl
  19. I get it on regen, about 5 min and then the smell goes away even though the clean out lasts another 10 min. Nice part is, I know what it is and I don't have to pull off the road and stop...I still drive down the highway. Some units you must stop and wait. Exhaust pipes go over 1400 degrees during process! As campcop said, DEF engines don't have that issue! Carl
  20. Herman. Ditto! Cummins get's mine 2/24, it's been 13 months and 12,693 miles! Mine goes in every 11 to 13 months, regardless of mileage. In 14' I changed oil after 8 months...15K+ miles! This visit will be more extensive than normal, 7 years and 54K+! Carl
  21. First, I would call American Coach Tech Department with your Vin# and Fin#. They may have a more durable harness available. If not, then get a new one off the one you have. Good for another 105K and 12 years! Carl
  22. Court house! Just heard it on news this morning....Don't care if they advertise or not, made up my mind a long time ago! As for this post? Who knows.....raise your hand, it worked in school ! Carl
