  1. Roger. Ref. increase in posted speed limits. When I was young and "bullet proof", I would drive at 65 to 75 mph in a Class A! I have in the past 30 years driven my Rv's at 63 to 65. There have been times off 70+ due to passing and then back to cruise control. I can also relate to pre computers and Forums, also all the regulations we have picked up since 1994....makes one wonder how we survived in MH 1967 to pre 94'?! None belted, none Radial tires, that was fun! I run mine at 10 psi over when cold and have not had a blow out since we got steel belted radials! If I'm camped more than a couple of days, then I'll check tires. Otherwise, I'll let tire minders take care of it and I don't run around with a digital heat gun, unless I'm grilling a steak! Carl
  2. Hi all. Just returned Sunday from 4,118 miles. Avg. mpg 6.4 on a 09' Cummins 425, Allison 3000. If I use the dash computer or Silverleaf for mpg, I would be on the side of the road, looking for Coach net to bring me fuel! Constantly! I zero my "B" trip meter each time I re fuel, then I can divide my miles by gallons=mpg. Sometimes I can run all day with no AC on, but in Summer I run my generator and all 3 AC's if needed. The computers do not compensate! I generally get an avg. of 6.1 with gen on. I have a 150 gallon tank, but fill around 600 miles/90+/- gal. In July I took 112 gallons in Abilene, TX.& that is pushing it as my gen will shut off at a quarter tank, 37 gal. You do not want to do that in Texas, in July! Carl
  3. LOL! Monty. Your doing the right thing...please let us know how it works out. Carl
  4. Thanks, I'll give it a try when I get back to the USA in mid Dec. Carl
  5. It's called a coil over ignition system. 454 L-21. I ran 2 of them in a 32' Scarab race boat...same problem! Lots of fun when one dies at 92 knots... Go to any Auto Store...get several! Carl
  6. Get with Brett Wolfe. Carl
  7. Hi Kent. Welcome to FMCA and the Forum! Are you from Hawaii and married a Cajun? Carl
  8. Monty. Welcome to the Forum. How many miles does the unit have on it? A gasser with low miles, is good. Not so on a DP. Have it checked by a pro or two, is a good idea. As far as floor plan is concerned, if your wife likes it, nothing else matters! There are a lot off members on Forum that has a 38DP Bounder, look for them and click on name and send a PM. Hope you join FMCA and enjoy which ever coach you find and buy! Carl
  9. Do you know that we have not lost a "drop" of water since we got a atmosphere? Sorry, not much PC in Texas, unless they are transplants!
  10. John. Do you check or have someone check your caulking on roof each year? When was it last re caulked? Recommend every 3 years along with a leak test! I have a capillary leak in my bath room, showed up last Thursday, half way between Charleston and Columbia, SC on I-95 as I was hauling my rear back to Texas. My last caulk was Nov. 13, when I bought coach. Carl
  11. J. I assume it was motor boat?! I can attest to that. Love is the first & last day, nothing between! If your running out of things to fix and your bored, I'll drop mine off. Should keep you busy for about 6 months! I figure $10K should make it road ready again! Carl
  12. Ditto! Please, do not delete that feature!!! Carl
  13. I thought long and hard about a Hydrolift for my HD & was going to get one earlier this year. Changed my mind, when a member of Swinging Golfers had the hydraulics fail while going down I-95S in NC. last March....it totaled the toad, bike and tore out over $ 10K worth off coach, his is a 14' AMC Eagle 45' DP 600 HP Cummins! I saw him last week in NC and this week in SC and he now carries a new HD in the bed of a new 4x4 truck! Carl
  14. You might also call Foretravel in TX. and find out what they are using today. Carl
  15. Joe. Hi! I have the Aqua Hot 450 & with a friend, who has the same unit, we serviced mine (about 5 hours) for what a Tech does in 45 minutes! Bobs coach went to a AH Dealer! His wife drove it there, as Bob was at a clinic getting his fix for a little finger nail, he ripped clean off! I had to close my ears as he used every big word in the book! If you have nothing better to do? Go for it! Your still young. Also, keep your kids in the house, as you don't want them to hear all the BIG words you'll be using! We are both over 70 years old and came to the conclusion that time equals a lot of money, actually it's a priceless commodity! I will pay the $$$ and leave with clean, whole nails attached! Carl
  16. Dutchstar3812. Taking a shower from a pan of water is impossible (well, almost). I think they gave up washing the body or dishes, with a pan off hot water, a very long time ago!!!
  17. I'll go with Bill. Also, CW & GS today, is not the way it was when they where separate. Unless it's just for a store item, I stay away from CW! Carl
  18. rhart. On another post from you, you purchased a DP ! You wreck it? As for washer/dryer, I have a Splendid stackable and it's fine for me! Have had no problems. I do take my Jeans in for dry cleaning and wash towels about once a month in Laundromat. If you have money to burn and want to stay at 40', may I suggest you order a coach from Newell. Carl
  19. My 2006 Southwind 32', had the same issue. CW (pre Lemonis) fixed it, just don't remember how....sorry! Agree, Bill. Pre bankruptcy and post...still an issue, amazing! Carl
  20. Hi Bill. I used them in 2012 on my Allegro Bus, I did a dumb thing. Was leaving a rally at Lake Medina and forgot to unhook, didn't hurt the Park stuff, but did a job on my elect cord and water hose. I had no clue until I got to Hwy and got all kinds off phone calls!!! Duh. TCC had me for about 4 hours and they replaced my hose on reel and new 50A cable on reel. I had lost about half of each! They do a lot of Prevost's and Liberty coaches there, when you roil by, you would think of it as just another small town garage! I'm at Sky Line Ranch RV park once a year, and always stop by now. Carl
  21. hsbsafty Is your coach at the dealer? What is the slide doing or not doing? Have you contacted Winnebago? I had a 07' Winnebago Tour 40KD and my right slide kept hanging up in the out position, turned out to be a slide/floor match up problem. When I let the slide out it would drop about a 1/4" to low. Dealer adjusted slide & problem fixed (1 off 300 in 5 years). I just love W! Carl
  22. At this moment in time, I'm on air leveling...Tonight, I'll be dry camped at a Country Club and be on HWH. My coach, automatically dumps the air out of airbags, before HWH kicks in. When I'm on air the "air compressor" regulates my level. I block the wheels, brake goes off, the coach is not going anywhere! Other, than getting accumulated condensation out of my air system, I see no good reason to dump tanks....even when I check for or get rid of condensation I only open valves long enough to feel dry air. Have I been doing something wrong in the past 10 years? The info on coach in river, never said, if it was gasser or DP. From what I could see, 36' newer model. Carl
  23. rwitt. Good morning. When you get to the Valley, send a PM to Butler (he does Blogs on Forum), he lives in the Valley now and would definitely know a good tech! Stay away from Camping World. Good Luck. Carl
