genepatb With the key out? Sounds like a solenoid is not closing or a lose ground wire. Have you checked the ignition switch wires with a meter? Carl

Extended Warranties for Class A Diesel Motorhome
manholt replied to DennisSolow's topic in Extended Service Policies
Bill. Me also. I'm currently at Cummins in Houston, TX. getting my annual service done and extras (some my choice, some not), what was going to cost $2,200 grew to $4,118. Big bucks! However, had I gotten a EW when I bought coach in late 13', I would now be down over $1,800 as normal service is not covered by EW! I do the same with Insurance, I have a two million dollar Liability policy and carry a $10 million umbrella Policy (at $7.50 per month, per million) I'm way ahead! Carl -

Roger. Makes sense! I did not know that Yosemite was open this time of the year?! If it is, have a good trip! Carl -

Roger. I have spent the last hour, re reading all your posts, twice and slow. I now think I understand where your coming from and must say it's a good idea, especially since you seem to get enjoyment out off it. Keep it up! There are several pros and cons in deciding what type of RV to get. Most important is to keep the DW (Susan) happy! I also would be leaning towards a 5th if I was to stay in a Park for several months at a time (more bang and space for the $$$$)! Less cost in maintenance. A DP has better ride than a gas, but is more expensive to buy and maintain. So it all boils down to what really makes you happy! Also, sometimes I have to duck into a Rest Area to sit out bad weather and I'm high and dry with generator on, while the folks in truck/trailer is stuck in truck or get soaked going to trailer...the same happens often in camp grounds! If you ever make it to a FMCA Rally, look me up! Carl

FIVE. I hope that when you found one, you bought two? Carl

Ray. Your coach is mad at you...it knows. No more trips from Island! Sorry, I just could not help it. You probably have more tools, than the average shop! Carl

Brett is correct in why a bag goes bad. I had one go on me at the RR crossing in Pecos on Hwy 285S, that hump is real bad and I hit it at about 20mph and it also made the Bilstein into a boomerang shape. Trucker next to me lost an axle on his trailer....place was tied up for 7 hours! This was in 13' with the Allegro Bus! Carl

I'm still asking! Why would you go from packed bearing to oil bath bearing? Pro/con, please?! I'm in Cummins now and will be until Friday PM. On my list is to check brake and bearings! So far my estimated bill is $4,218. I like Bill's idea about rotors! But, hope mine are good till next year...lol Carl

Your right Ray! I forgot to mention that mine is hard wired. Also, have a pedestal mount that I keep at the fish/duck camp in LA. Carl

Herman, I just love your spell check! Made in China? Carl -
I have 50A on power reel, 30'. Carry a 50', 30A. Same connectors as Brett. 4, 10' sever hose. Water reel has 50' and carry an extra 10' and 25', also a 30' for filling fresh water tank. Inline filter. The 10' is designated back flush! First owner re plumbed so I can't use my city water hook up to fill tank! I have several 5 gal. buckets at house...now I know what to use 2 for, elect and water...thanks for a great idea Kay! I'm now leaving for South Plains Cummins (CCC) to spend $$$$! Carl

Jose. Under "Roadside Assistance" there is several links to your question! I have had GS and Coach Net. I found that GS is biggest bang for $$$ on Gas units! Coach Net for DP's, I have CN! Carl

What kind of coach are you in? I have found over the years, it also depends on where you cross into Canada and return. Have had CBP in my coach, with dog. I had to remove mine first. Never had USBP in coach coming home from Mexico or Canada. The "Darwin" award goes to the Mexican BP and it's Drug dog! Hello! I'm going to bring drugs into Mexico? 2 years ago. Carl

Please, do not stream using the wi-fii in a RV park. It will blow the system and all the rest of us will be off line also! Carl

zorro, you got a good DW! When mine was alive, she could do 10 pounds in one Happy Hour, then throw 4 or 5 other "friends".... Back then, I drank Scotch and water, no ice! Now I have wine or beer. Carl -

Joe. Did Cummins redo the 600 ISX to a 650 ISX, based upon wanting to compete with the Volvo 725? If not then why rebore a dependable 600? Carl
