New Motorhome Floor Plans: Practical Or Impractical - A Poll
manholt replied to aldebruijn's topic in Buying an RV
Between Bill, Brett, Joe and ObedB, there is at least 150+ years of hands on experience in all things chassis, diesel motors and axels...from trucking to DP's. I do not question what they have to say! Actions in my book speak louder than words! Having said that. When, from another tread, you have to carry a can of WD-40 to operate items on a brand new $1,800,000 coach, then yes, there is something seriously wrong with the industry as a whole! Not too long ago, you got a coach built by the Amish inside and out, you knew you had a good coach! Not so today...flimsy! Carl -
Motorhome Specialists of Texas, in Alvarado, TX. comes to mind. They have as big if not bigger selection in new and used as Lazydays in FL & Arizona combined! Five. At $500K it kind off limits the coach to AC, Monaco or Newmar. Surprised if we get an answer! Carl

Joe. Google New Bransfeld Smokers, Even CW used to have a fully enclosed RV size smoker! We have a store here called Academy, believe they have a catalog. For off the wall stuff try Katz of Houston! Carl
-
Did you go thru the dealer? Did you call Fleetwood? New coach = Warranty!
-
Samsprott. Welcome to the Forum. In 40+ years off class A's, I have never seen or heard of anyone putting a washer/dryer in living room! That's a Hoot! What kind of coach do you have? Carl

Norcold Double Door Fridge Not Working
manholt replied to Kevin510's topic in Systems and Appliances
Joe. 5' 2"? And your 6' 6"? This I have got to see! I shut mine off like Brett. Have had the one big cube and it's a total pain, I had to use a borrowed hair dryer and then I ended up with H2O everywhere! No thanks, not again! Carl -
We aren't $1,800,000 therefore we leak! We also, have common sense, we carry WD-40 and duck tape! Carl
-
Joe. So am I since my bill was already pushing $3,800....final came in at $3,439.53, that includes the 10% discount for Cummins Power Club! When your having a full service on engine and generator, with a radiator flush, replace thermostats , CAC cleaned and pressure tested and all belts replaced. The cost goes up! If you had seen my main belt, hanging on by a quarter of an inch, you would understand why I feel it was $$$ well spent! I sleep so much better now! Only service I have left is Aqua Hot. Carl

Extended Warranties for Class A Diesel Motorhome

Wayne. Have you thought about turning your lemon into an apple? Or are you bound and determined to turn the one you have into a Princess? Well, at least your saving $$$ on storage! Carl -
Super Cs Not Allowed At Some Upscale Campgrounds?
manholt replied to MLnDavo's topic in Type C Motorhomes
Indio, Ca. They have always been a hassle to deal with...too much Hollywood, I would expect! Only place I ever had a problem in any of my coaches, so leave Indio alone! To my knowledge Nation wide, Supper C is no problem! The only once that run into it every once in a while (mostly FL.) is the custom built Renegade and trailer...there is no "box" for them to fit in. They are not an A, B, or C.....but you can walk from cab to living area of coach, therefor your OK in FMCA! Carl -

We seem to have lost another newbie OP!? Carl
-
Five. I still have a 07' Chevy 2500 with the Duramax and Allison....117,356 miles and no problem. Mine is 4x4 and I have pulled low boy trailers with Cat track dozers and track hoes, horse trailers and pulled stumps with it...best truck/engine combo! Have not made a comparison, but the 33' Palazzo has a 300 Cummins and 600 pounds of T. I would not buy a Breeze or Palazzo, just saying! Carl

Ideas On Carrying 2 -300# Scooters
manholt replied to Bill@billblack.biz's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Oh! Where, has the OP gone? That so often happens to Newbies! Carl -
CR would probably rate mine a 5! But if mine was modified in the same manner and had the name Land Cruiser attached, it would rate excellent! CR has always come across as snobbish! Don't remember the year that they rated the Mercedes Benz 4 X 4 as the best all around 4 wheeler on the market and it listed for $110K.....I have never seen one in the desert or woods! Carl
-
Bill. Generally speaking, I would agree with you. I have seen too many owners wanting to get their nose in it...I stay away until called! Carl
-
Ray. Did you lend him some WD-40? When you have too many electronics! Money can't buy common sense! Carl
-
Don. Michelin don't make tires in winter! March is still winter... Carl

It's a needful thing! I rather do laundry in house on a rain day, than go back and forth to camp laundry! Ugh! Big loads to town and pick up after golf...I let them do it, cost about the same, especially if you consider the inconvenience of sitting and waiting! Carl
-
Tom, High end coaches, still have the window awnings (built in, like the old Signature model), you only see them when they are out! Same with roof mount. I will agree with coolness in sun. Another pro/con thing! Carl
-
Pre 2007, great. Don't know if I would wait on jury! Carl
-
Bill. I've never seen one that blocks the gen slide out...all are attached to the slide itself! Can you post a picture? I would remove the whole shield and get at generator first, then either have the shield cut to size or install Diamond Shield, in any event your going to have holes to contend with! It's either Plexiglas or Lexan! Carl

Size? Where? What are you towing? Carl

New Motorhome Floor Plans: Practical Or Impractical - A Poll
manholt replied to aldebruijn's topic in Buying an RV
RodgerS. Glad you had a good "Get away" and found it enjoyable! Class B, would make for a nice toad. My best friend has had a 5th now for 10 years, because he tends to stay in one place for 3 or more weeks and has been looking for a new rig! Took a year for him to make up his mind as to get a 40' to 45' DP or another 5th! He told me yesterday that he and the DW has decided to go with another 5th, custom built by Royal, 47'! He will end up spending as much for trailer and hauler as I would on a new 45' DP. His reason is quite simple...we all change as we get older, he no longer is interested in all the toys, both like to stay in one place for the Summer! They have rented a garage in Cortez, Co. for her car and his Jeep! Every body has their own reason and need. I still like to travel and I'll stay a week or a month, I'm not hung up on seeing the same people each year, at the same place, doing the same thing! Carl -
MNlDavo. It would really help to know what type of coach your interested in! Class A, B or C? DP or gas? Length? Cookie cutter or Custom? Used or New? Carl
