Auxiliary Braking System: 2013 Honda CRV?

Indeed, you need a braking system. Required by law in most (but not all) states. I'm fond of SMI braking systems, as you don't have to set them up and take them down everytime your tow. Once installed, there's little to do again. https://smibrake.com/index.php -
Oh, thought you were just trying to replace the bulbs, not the entire fixture. Silly question, but is the LED light fixture a 12 volt system?

I replaced all of mine with LED. Where are you getting your lights? I would recommend looking at M4products.com or cabinbright.com ... I know you can find them cheaper on EBay and other sites, but these two companies stand behind their products and will ensure that you're using the right products for your coach.

Is Hwy 1 In Oregon OK For 42ft Motormomes?

There is no Hwy 1 in Oregon. 101 is the coastal highway and, yes, it is open the entire length to motorhomes. I have traveled it a few times towing a car behind my 40 footer. -
Also check the ground wire. If necessary, clean the contact point for the ground. This won't have any effect on your reefer, tho

I travel that road quite often in our 40 footer. You shouldn't encounter any issues other than those typical of winding two lane roads. Cars tend to want to drive faster than you will, so you'll have to deal with that. There are plenty of pull-offs to allow some scenic views and allow traffic to pass, but as TB said, you'll enjoy exploring with your toad much more.

Towing Volkswagen Beetle or Golf

I have to have my ignition on (but all the way to the left) while towing. I get around battery issues by installing a charge wire that charges the battery from my coach. Don't take that as that it's OK to pull your car...there are other reasons that it might not be able to be towed. As mentioned, go to the FMCA files or go to http://www.remcoindustries.com/Towing/ and see what they say.- 12 replies

An easy fix, most likely. Under your steps, locate the ground wires and disconnect them. Clean them with denatured alcohol to get rid of all of the road grime, then reconnect them so that they have a clean contact. Mine was recently doing the same thing. The wire connection to the step was really grimy. Welcome to FMCA and the forums! Carl

I'm using a Falcon All terrain tow bar and have no complaints about it. If I were doing it over, I'd likely go with the Sterling or perhaps the Blackhawk simply for the greater capacity to tow. Only time I had difficulty unhooking was on a slope and I couldn't get the release to let go. Had to have wife nudge the car forward a tad to reduce the strain. I'm considering upgrading my safety cables from the coiled standard ones to the quick release ones like the ones on the Sterling...I like the idea of the straight cables for ease of passing them through the cable slots on the bar. The coiled ones work alright but seem to clutter the set up somewhat (nit picking). Not taking anything away from any of the other companies, but I like Roadmaster.

Flat Towing 2009 Saturn Astra Automatic

I went through Remco to figure out what I needed to do to tow a 2007 Cadillac CTS. A lube pump from Remco and brackets from Roadmaster an I was set to go. While RM had the template for the CTS, they had to manufacture them as they weren't in stock. Check out Remco! If your car cannot be towed, they'll tell you. -
The issue has been resolved once I narrowed it down to an issue with Chrome. I had to uninstall Chrome and then reinstall it to get it to work properly. Thanks Todd for you assistance in this frustrating matter! Carl

In theory, that would make sense. In reality, it isn't working. I logged out of the forum and tried to log into the main site unsuccessfully. Thinking that I have the password wrong, I clicked "forgot password". It asked me to validate a question, to which I answered. I then got a message that there was a problem with my account and to call the membership number for assistance. As I'm traveling at the moment, it's inconvenient to do so. I will pursue the matter further upon my return to base.

Once again, I cannot log onto the main site, although I can get into the forums. I can't understand why I always have issues. Does anyone else experience problems logging in at times? I have an email into the webmaster to try to resolve the issue.

I'm not real fond of the new look and feel of the forum, mainly because I'm used to reading by going to unread messages. I haven't quite figured out the best way to do that with this format, yet. Not real critical, just different.

While the merits of a wireless fence are many, I have to chuckle when I recall trying to retain my English Bulldogs inside a wireless fence. They quickly learned about the barriers, the beep warning, and the perimeter they could range, but my male soon discovered that the thick neck his breed is known for would also give him protection from the quick shock he got as he ran through the field of protection. He would race through it, then turn and look at me with that "now what?" look on his face. The female, being a bit smaller, stayed within the boundaries.

I leave mine on continuously unless I take it into the shop or otherwise leave it not plugged in while not in use.

I've had to use a 50amp extension one time at campgrounds. I had bought one because of the previous setup at my home (since changed) required use.
