TT, I test ours annually along with the engine. When I replaced it I also replaced the thermostat and radiator cap, very simple to work on especially if yours is on a slide. Whomever is working on it make sure they check the belt on the engine, its on the back side. I wasn't sure what coolant to use in it, ours is also a 7500 watt made by Onan. I called Cummins with the serial number and they recommended what coolant to use, that's what I bought, crazy but good, its the same for the coach engine, keeps it simple.

We follow this process! I would be embarrassed if someone from my family acted like that. We only walk them in public spaces, never between campsites occupied or empty. We have a family rule, we also don't walk through any campsite but our own unless invited. We have the bag dispenser on the leashes, looks like this and a box in the coach with refills;

My thoughts exactly, built like a...high quality motorhome structurally. I have always admired the vintage Airstreams.

Those are problematic also, balsa wood framing and a terrible suspension beats them up pretty hard

Suggestions on best hose from holding tanks
jleamont replied to ktconners's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Those take much too long for me to empty and I've watched the videos on how to take them apart and fix them when they don't work. No fun when the tank has "stuff" against it and you remove it . I have sat in the dump station line many many times, while it is entertaining it gets old fast. I don't want to be the guy holding up the line with 150 gallons of Black and gray. Then it is also just one more thing to break, got enough of those gremlins now. -
Suggestions on best hose from holding tanks

I have almost done that on several occasions . II usually remember an hour later and I run out to check it, that and the CATV line will often pop up and lay near the pipe. -
Mine are in a box in the garage , i get it!

They do not look the same, resemble... but not the same! The verbiage is the same...for now but with all of the other changes taking place that couldn't possibly remain the same. This is the style I have; The new version the white is no longer raised and looks like a sticker over a plastic egg.

Gross Combination Vehicle Weight Ratings for Gas Class A motorhomes
jleamont replied to shaneotr's topic in Type A motorhomes
I did locate this; UP TO 26,000 LBS. GVWR AND 30,000 LBS. GCWR The Ford Class A Motorhome Chassis is available in a choice of six (6) GVWR capacities from 16,000 lbs. up to 26,000 lbs. This wide selection of chassis allows motorhome manufacturers to more closely match their motorhome body to the required chassis carrying capacity. In addition, Ford 24,000 and 26,000 lbs. GVWR Class A Motorhome Chassis feature a very robust 30,000 lbs. GCWR capacity https://www.fleet.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/brochures/2018/22414_Class_A_Brochure_2018_ARLSD.pdf Previous years should be on that website also.- 7 replies

Gross Combination Vehicle Weight Ratings for Gas Class A motorhomes
jleamont replied to shaneotr's topic in Type A motorhomes
Spent many years at dealerships, reading this sentence got me laughing . I can only imagine....those are the same people telling trailer people they can pull a 12,000 lb trailer with a Tundra whatever it takes to get ink on the paper!- 7 replies

2017 Ford Explorer flat tow question
jleamont replied to dstrahm's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
The brake light power comes from the coach, not the toad's electric system. This is the purpose of the diodes so the coach power to them doesn't back feed into the ford wiring. As far as the battery disconnect, It is for a few items, electric steering, anti theft system and a few other's. The complexity of that vehicles electrical system is very advanced, if it sees vehicle speed with the key off it will generate fault codes and most likely when you start it up the dash will look like a Christmas tree with many fault codes stored throughout many modules. To get a straight answer you would have to call Ford, without a direct line into their tech department I doubt the person would know what a motorhome was let alone know the specific's.- 4 replies

Our plates were a plastic with raised letters and numbers, my neighbors plates (newbie) are a smooth top with what looks like painted letters sandwiched between a clear outer layer. His appear to be hanging on the Kiley ladder brackets but the egg looks funny

Any tire problems with 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport?
jleamont replied to tireman9's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I'm betting it seemed unlocked, when the wheels turned in a corner it re locked at 10 or 2. We have only ever towed Jeeps with 4 down, stock, lifted with oversized tires, never experienced a problem with the wheels not returning to center. -
I live in it, wont drive the coach until we have a soaking rain to wash the roadways. Our coach appears to have followed the same philosophy from the previous owner. Here is a product that is well known to work; https://krown.com/en/products/aerosols/salt-eliminator/

Agreed! We almost bought a 02 Dutch Star, it had severe roof delamnation on their Kevlar layered roof system. I called Newmar, sent photos and they were going to cover a portion of the roof repair on a 12 year old coach as they explained this should have never happened but we have seen it before. Keep in mind I was purchasing it used, that was impressive! We declined the purchase and moved on but I will say they high up on my list for future purchases as a result in that conversation.

Dennis, The Chevrolet Equinox did back in 2014-2015 you have to drive it first to lubricate the internals and every so often, when you don't they will self destruct. Learned that first hand and they will deny warranty, also learned that the hard way . Some others also have speed restrictions, don't remember if Chevy did or not. We also tow an automatic wrangler, 4x4 in neutral, transmission in park. No need to start it or operate it. The only thing spinning is the internals of the 4x4 transfer case and its self lubricating i.e. no pump to force lubricants around inside, does it on its own while free rolling.

I don't blame you one bit. The lack of customer service in the RV industry needs to change!
-
In my opinion those two words say it all! Said another way they owe you a mattress in my opinion. For the sake of keeping a customer and in good faith should just send you one. I fought Lippert (Denver RV mattress co) last year and hit a wall with a mattress also. Looked at one at an RV show, ordered it, set it up, laid on it, DW looked at me and said "this isn't the same mattress we laid on at the show, this is terrible". I called them and they told me the display will feel different than the one we send out, HUH? They will not replace it nor will they refund us! I tossed $600.00 in the trash

Any tire problems with 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport?
jleamont replied to tireman9's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
The only time I have ever come across that was the steering wheel lock was engaged and the vehicle was dragged down the road. -
At home, did the same thing. Coach has a Lippert mattress https://www.lci1.com/rv-supreme-euro-top Absolutely the worst mattress I have ever slept on!

Huh? Two LED tv's no issues with either and the interior of the coach is all LED lighting. The only time I get flicker is with the water pump on, only on lights. I don't have cheap Chinese LED's in the coach, all are dimming and are two years old.

Ricky, welcome! Great story

LOL, that says it all!!
