I have had several over charges, charges at weren't ours, you name it they have messed it up! Last year we were in NM and we were pinging charges in OH on the coach, took me 3 months to get our money back. I asked them for the photo of the license plate that charged the tolls, and that was the end of the dispute. Since it auto replenishes off of my credit card, I got a text for the replenish, thought it was odd since we hadn't been through that many tools that would require a replenish and sure enough.

For the few tolls you hit, the savings wouldn’t have out weighted the hassle or potential hassles.

Chrisk22, usually with the higher end DP's you also get real wood inside (not always but usually), Hydronic heating as an option. The other items you get were all mentioned above.

KingRichard, Welcome to the FMCA Forums! Sun pass is only accepted in florida as far as I know. Ezpass is excepted I quite a few states. Here is the list; https://e-zpassiag.com/about-e-zpass/31-map Florida is coming soon according to this. There are three different Ezpass options, windshield mounted roof mounted License Plate mounted (we have this one in the Motorhome) Depending on the RV Weight you might need a commercial Ez pass, we do. They make an “RV” Ezpass but it caps out around 14,000 lbs. If you coach weights more when you come into a toll booth it will not read the Ezpass, if it’s a booth with a gate your stuck. Here is another issue we ran into. Our Jeep has its own Ezpass. When selecting the coach Ezpass they asked how many total axles in the combination, I told them 4 (2 Jeep, 2 coach). I was told to remove the Jeep Ezpass and put it back in its foil pouch and place it in the glove box. I crossed through a toll booth and the coach was charged for the 4 axles, the Jeep accumulated an additional charge when it read the license plate, so I was charged for the Jeep x2. After many disputes and arguments with the authority I had to put smart them so I changed the coach Ezpass to a 2 axle commercial and the Jeep pings it’s own as if it went through under its own power. We have 2 Ezpass accounts due to the coach weight now. A regular account with the family automobiles and the commercial with the Motorhome. The windshield mounting is behind our TV on the windshield, it came with instructions for large windshield vehicles.

Mel, I am slightly familiar as I had a problem down there and traced it all out a few years ago, does your coach have Aquahot?
-
wjpatton01, that is a common failure point on any class C. How is the cab and coach body mounted to the frame? typically the cab floats on rubber and the coach house is mounted solid. As the unit flexes down the road the cab tries to move but it’s fastened to the coach house front wall, this will often cause the mounting to back out or shear off. I have seen a rubber boot/accordian between the two so the cab could work independently with the coach house on a Renegade product, not on any other manufacturer. So naturally I am curious what Jayco did to correct this area of concern or did they just mount them together. Truck body companies have learned this the hard way and they figured out a redesign on the body mounting to make it work, this only has been in the last 8-10 years and my concern is the RV industry has always been 25 years behind the rest of the automobile/truck industry.

Alert To All AquaHot And Hydronic Heating System Users
jleamont replied to f330021's topic in Systems and Appliances
When you opened it up did you happen to notice where the excess fuel was coming from? It is also easy to improperly install the burner into the main unit, which will also cause improper combustion and lots of black smoke. What model Aqua hot do you have?- 15 replies

Herman in season, we will go for a drive over to NJ for the roadside stands. From home it’s about an hour one way but worth the trip! -

Since you told me about those Cinnamon rolls across from the KOA I have been craving those. -

Roamers is only a few minutes from our house. Manholt stayed at New Holland KOA and liked it. That’s now on the top of my list for this area, it’s a relatively new KOA and they fixed it up. Gettysburg Campground is another favorite of ours. It’s the only non commercially owned campground in that area. The owner and his wife are great people to chat with. -

Wayne, you ever get out to Lancaster PA area? We live 15 minutes from here; https://lancasterpa.com/intercourse/ -
Herman, the pumps, sending unit with the heater, and each DEF line also has a heater with in the tubing all fail frequently and more so in winter. The colder the climate the more frequent failures. The only thing I can contribute to it is overall part quality issues. We have a problem up here in winter, you cannot park a unit with DEF if the tank is full. By design there is no room for the DEF to freeze and it cracks the pump and sending unit. As the DEF freezes it rises, no place to go its forced into the pump, the pump cracks and so does the sending unit, It’s all plastic! Almost immediately the engine will go into derate (upon starting) and leave you stranded. Due to the weight of an RV in derate there is so little power they can barely move in most cases. So far the only manufacturer I have seen with less issues is Peterbilt, their DEF tank is designed much better. Even topped off there is adequate space for freeze expansion. If your friends DEF pump is air powered those were a bigger problem than the electric ones that were phased in later model years. There is no way to retrofit an electric pump where there once was air.

drogers, Welcome to the FMCA forums! Turn on the air conditioning (dash, not roof top) they should come on automatically. There are typically two circuits that feed those fans, one is operated by coolant temperature, the other would be a signal that the A/C is on. This will help narrow down the issue and where to begin checking. If nothing with the A/C on, sounds like the fan controller is which is usually a relay block with low/high speed relays or a solid state module. Do you have a wiring diagram for this coach in the manual?
-
I am surprised they do not have those in stock, those and the DEF line heaters fail frequently when exposed to cold weather. Where are you based out of?
-
Mike, look around for this decal or one that spells out what coolant you have from the factory. This is off of a Freighliner product.

You also have to be cautious of the load/weight rating. Here is what I mean, this happened to me;

Kay, good information! I only have one computer with Windows 10 on it and I'd like to wipe it out and start fresh. I need to figure out how to do that also.

1-2 hours of labor is probably the "fair" number you would expect to be charged. I have seen this before on several engine manufacturers lately, Cummins so far has only been on the ISX.
-
I have no idea, but they are constantly tweaking the software to make them burn cleaner. I guess that's good but it's a huge inconvenience to the end user. It seems to work like a cell phone, when you dont update it something mysteriously goes wrong and a simple software update cures it.
-
Rich, we PM every 15,000 miles in one form or another. Some of the new technology will turn the light on every 40,000 miles give or take. No good when a driver is in the middle of nowhere and it's calling for a software update and goes into derate. This seems to be more of a problem on some 2018 and newer diesels.
-
Not on our coach. YUP. However most new diesels require routine ECM updates, some manufactures will turn on the engine light after a certain amount of time requiring a reflash. Due to many breakdowns at work we reflash all engines built after 2014 at each PM interval, when they get missed we get an abundance of breakdowns.

Great relaxing weekend, we are parked at Delaware Seashore state park for an extended weekend. Drove to Rehoboth, Bethany Beaches and then onto Ocean City Maryland with the toad. Went out to a fantastic restaurant last night. Best Fathers Day in a while. Surprisingly the humidity was very low. -
Speck, Cummins has two, it will run if one has failed but needs to be replaced ASAP. I would recommend replacing both since they sit right next to each other.
-
Rich, ours are 32” and I just replaced them last week. They were 5 years old and over the winter started to tear. They are Trico’s, I was happy with getting 5 years out of them. Herman I like the tennis ball idea!
