  1. We will be heading out west in a few months, total of 5000 miles. The only thing I can suggest to you is to take all turns very slow as this is when it seems to happen. I did not have it happen with my Cherokee with over 10000 miles of towing and our current GC with over 3000 miles of towing.
  2. The electrical controlled steering is not the same as sport and regular. It has to do with power to steering when engine is off. That is why the Cherokee which I had, a 2015 needs the modification of an in line fuse to permit steering . My 2017 GC which has sport and regular doesn’t have the need for the fuse.
  3. I will be very interested to see what Jeep comes up with. Please post when you have further comments.
  4. Does your GC have electric steering like the Cherokee or did Jeep switch in 2016? My 2017 doesn’t have that and that is why the added part is not needed. From the picture of your setup it looks like the tow bar is level with hitch so major difference is the longer hitch bar to accommodate your golf cart platform. Strange that it took so long to show up and only when turning left.
  5. Rewillia, is there a possibility that your GC air suspension wasn’t lowered completely? I have the GC limited and do not have this but it was one of the things my dealer did not recommend. Since I don’t off road it wasn’t important to me.

I have one on my Bounder DP. If I note anything different in handling it is that the wheel seems to center better. The best improvement I made for handling was to get an alignment by an otr truck suspension shop.
  7. Brett, I for one highly value your service and dedication to the forum. I have felt for some time that this thread is becoming nonproductive and somewhat argumentative. Perhaps it might be better to terminate.
  8. Do you all normally use manual level or auto level? When you do level isn’t it common practice to dump the air first?
  9. Ernie, it really comes down to a 2600 mile round trip and lodging for 7-10 days with meals being a big no for me. Another problem I have is that my wife is disabled so this type of travel would not be good for her. My time and her happiness are worth far more than the savings you might be able to give me. Again I know your work is good but I am very comfortable with the people I have chosen and their work.
  10. If you use a molly you will need a bigger hole in the roof, could that lead to future problems and how did you seal the hole? Did you just use Dicor or something else? Are mollys available in stainless steel? thanks for the help
  11. Herman, The border doesn’t get you, it’s the fact that you can travel for days and never leave the state! Like the saying goes “ everything is bigger in Texas” Really my point was that if Texas isn’t in the cards, there are some great craftsman near Elkhart that can do the job. Roland
  12. Erniee, as I said in my previous post the photos I have seen of your work look good. For many of us traveling to Texas just isn’t reasonable and doesn’t fit into our plans or schedule. In no way did I mean to demean your work. If someone can fit their schedule to yours then if that is what they want they should do it. Roland
  13. When attaching solar panels to the RV roof with z brackets do you screw them down or glue them? How much of a concern with either attachment is having the panels come loose and go sailing off? My RV has a TPO roof and the panel I purchased came with z brackets and self tapping screws.
  14. Ernie is good, but for those of us who don’t live in Texas he is a little impractical. He hasn’t traveled to do work for a long time. Roland
  15. I keep both tanks closed until they need dumping, do black first and then gray.
  16. We just had new floor and remodel of our bedroom to permit king bed done by M.C.Miller. Megan was a pleasure to deal with and the work was top notch. We are very pleased. Roland
  17. Really doesn’t make sense, you replaced something that probably wouldn’t be a problem for over 10 years. A little bit of simple maintenance makes the roof last. JMHO, your mileage may vary.
  18. Is 170 from 118 to Lajitas ok for mh towing toad?
  19. Would it be better to do trip in January or end of March?
  20. We are thinking of taking a detour from Dallas when we go to Arizona this winter. Would it be better to do this on way there or on the way home? We want to go to San Antonio and then take 90 to Big Bend area and then to Van Horn. We will leave early January and return late March.
  21. Since dish has changed the eastern satellite programming on satellite 72 which is what you have to use for 2 receivers I am wondering if you can use the 1 receiver option and just switch cables when watching different tvs?
  22. Welcome! Be sure to turn the inverter off if storing for a period of time.
  23. Thanks Carl! Hope you had a good trip.
  24. I towed a 2015 Cherokee for over 10000 miles with no problem. For most drivers that had problem they put Cherokee front tires in hole with turning or some action similar to that. Also have to make sure that hitch is level with SUV. i now have a 2017 Grand Cherokee and it is easier to tow and hook up. No modification needed.
