  1. Bill, You might be surprised that many of us older folks are very computer savvy. I do agree with you that paper ballots are a poor way to vote but it is what it is. Hopefully enough of us will say NO to kill this club focus change.

    Tire Inflators

Blll, Do you have this on your Bounder? I haven't looked at mine but it would be nice. Roland
  3. I have had both, currently have RM. I think Garmin is easier to work with and when I need a new one I will probably go back to them.
  4. Byron, A total mistake on my part to not include you in the intelligent group😁. I think that the OP likes to pontificate about things he might not be well versed in. This forum is a great place to learn and hopefully he will avail himself of that. Roland
  5. Jim, I have the safe t plus on my 2005 Bounder DP, in high wind 30-40 mph from the side the help is minimal. I consider this a time to drive slower 40-50mph or get off the road. Roland
  6. Maybe it would be one of the new latex mattresses! Yes, California is a land unto its own with a different mentality towards government.
  7. I agree kaypsmith, it seems that the driver decelerated instead of accelerating to gain control. It also seems to me that the rv was traveling faster than most of us drive. The most critical safety device in your motorhome is you the driver. Roland
  8. Since seat belts are the law in every state I have had the pleasure to travel in I have used them for most all of my driving career since they have been available. That spans over 50 years.
  9. MWeiner, you are comparing apples to oranges. Your little van rv needs everything you can do to protect you. A class A dp is much more like a semi truck. My generator which is the same size as your engine is in front and I sit 4+ feet from the front windshield. The rear of the coach is 38' behind me . I drive at 60-62 mph on the highway and am very aware of my position at all times. You are in a car like vehicle and as such are at far more risk. Dreaming about what will and won't be is nonproductive at this point. Roland

    Sway Bar Bushings

No need to torque nuts to specific poundage? Correct to do both front and rear - all are 12 years old and coach has nearly 80000 miles. Am getting side to side rolling out of driveways.

    Sway Bar Bushings

I am going to have the change done next month, I don't have the equipment or desire to do myself. I will make sure that they use polypropylene bushings.
  12. After changing sway bar bushings is it necessary to have alignment done?
  13. MWeiner. Mark if you are going to last on the forum you will need to learn to have a thicker skin. We are fortunate to be able to express our thoughts and sometimes we may get shot down, very seldom is something said to cause offense. As you are here longer you will learn that some on the forum have a sharp sense of humor and are not pc. Many of us are skeptical of the FMCA motives and feel that the election could be just a formality, for you to feel different is your prerogative. Hopefully we will be wrong and the club will remain unchanged but personally I think the politics will not allow that. Roland
  14. Hope that politics don't decide the issue. Great to meet you in person Carl, have a safe trip to Europe.

    Pads For Jacks

I installed a set of snap pads and have used them on gravel for 1 month and at the Diesel rally this passed week on grass. So far they seem to work great and there is no placing and storage once installed.
  16. Carl, I brought up the conversation from this forum at the annual meeting on Monday and the Black gentleman ( his name escapes me) said that he is our representative and he would be voting yes. The consensus of other long standing members who were there was also a yes. If I have misspoke I am sorry but from that meeting that was the impression I was left with. I did voice my concern and was told that there will be a few year adaptation period. As for breakfast we don't attend because of the problems with my wife's physical condition which we have previously spoken about. Roland
  17. The word at the Diesel Club meeting this week seems to be that we will be allowing towed rv'. I agree with rpelatt that FMCA will become less relevant to me if this happens, sad. Time will tell.
  18. Bill, not to be dumb what is the SSID and should it be changed? Not real computer savvy. thanks, Roland
  19. It is a shame that this proposal of changing to a motorhome/towable club is driving us apart. I use to enjoy this forum for all the information that was willingly presented by those who had experienced similar problems or had more knowledge. We seem to have moved away from that. I belong to other sites for different reasons, I don't need or want another " me to " site. The verizon deal would have been nice but I have moved on to att mobley. The rallys are not a main focus for me and the assist benefit can be bought in other ways so if we go to all rv vehicles cost will make up my mind if FMCA is for me.
  20. Bill, I don't remember anyone saying anything about being demeaned. Some of us appear to want a motorhome club and others want a mixed club. It is as plain as that. As far as it being an old white mans club I don't see anything in the current rules and regulations saying that this is what it should be. In my travels I have very seldom seen minority populations at rv parks. On those times that I have they were mostly in 5th wheels or trailers and we were here in Michigan. Most of these campers were weekend and 1-2 weeks per year users. In talking with them they didn't seem to belong to any club or have much interest in joining anything.
  21. I agree with Scottami. It is all about dollars and perceived value. A lot of members aren't interested in rallys or attending group functions. If the current club ideas get watered down to accommodate nonmotorhomes the common interest for many current members will be lost. Then it comes down to value for your dollar. Bill where you are in Texas the club is strong but in many other areas it is weak at best. It is a shame but the current management seem **** bent on making a big change that some of us don't think is for the best.
