1978 Apollo 3200 Needs New Grey Water Tank?
desertdeals69 replied to Bodyboard's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Quite offen they can be repaired. Plastic welding is readily available. Just be sure to reinforce the area that broke so it won't break again. -
I have to say that using Thousand Trails campgrounds this summer is the best deal. Costs me $585 per year and since May I have stayed 72 nights in their system with no nightly fee. We have been in the northeast part of the country and every campground was clean and with friendly workers.

With a new coach I would not store it outside. I have stored all of the coaches I've had, in the last 25 years, inside. Most of the people I've talked to that have used covers thought they were too hard to use and cause some damage to the finish.

I would have thought the pedistal breaker should have tripped. This may be one of the problems created by using 50 amp breakers on each line for a total of 100 amps instead of using 25 amp breakers for a total of 50 amps. At least annually all ac wires should be checked and the connections in the breaker box tightened. Some of the connections in the breaker panel are aluminum with screws of steel. The wire is copper which causes the need of a chemical compound to make them compatible. Just check everything for tightness and non chaffing.

Since the electric and the engine stops its probably not going to be an engine component failure. Its going to be power going to the system, which I addressed in an earlier post. I would also rule out grounds because there are several, the dash, frame, engine. Might be battery cables, check to see if all connections are clean and tight.

On mine I ran wires, on the motorhome, from the front right and left turn signals and the stop light switch to the rear connector. The lights on my pickup truck function the same as the truck alone.

Your chassis is probably a Dodge M600 with a Dodge 440-3 engine and a 727 torqueflite transmission. I have worked on dozens of them back in the 70s and 80s. We also installed the Gear Vendors over/under gearbox which mounts in the back of the transmission. Its been too long ago to remember what the switches were.

Does it restart right away? It might be the ignition relay/solenoid. I had the same symptons which happened once or twice a year. Took me several years to locate the problem. After I replaced the solenoid I cut it open to see what the problem was. The contacter, which is free to rotate, had a burnt spot on it . No more problems in the last few years.

Are they new and with a warranty? What brand? Are they going to be used as starting batteries or house batteries? If house, are they deep cycle batteries? Give us as much info as possible and we might be able to give you a reasonable answer.

If they are installing new pedestals, the wiring should be to code which should be buried with direct burial wire or in conduit. Cords laying on the grass is for temporary use.

I also have aluminum wheels so if I need to move tires around I remount the tires in the new location. I always keep the tire rotation in the same direction, I have heard thats not necessary be I do it anyway.

Because its about the same size the output would be the simular. Two 6 volt batteries have about the same capacity as two 12 volt batteries. Its the area of the plates in the electrolyte that determine the capacity.

Construction is more robust and is less effected by outside interference. The booster is not required for toad sensors.

I recently had my coach painted and was offered diamond shield for $1200. I asked how much to repaint the front end sometime down the road and was told $800. I opted for the latter.

Some shops give only 1 year warranty. I will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how to!

I think that the best way to store is to block up each axle so the tire is off the ground about an inch. It can be done with blocks of wood.

In June I had my 93 Coachmen Santera painted and it turned out better than I had ever imagined. It was done by Mike's Custom Painting in Bremen In. I spoke to Mike at the Indy rally and made an appointment to have a couple of small things taken care of on Wed the 5th. Everything was taken care of with a smile. The service is perfect and the paint job comes with a 2 year warranty. Very satisfied with the job and the service.

Most of the systems probably work ok. I am using Tire Minder and having good luck. They have consumer replaceable batteries in the transmitters. The factory service is unbeatable which is very important as far as I'm concerned.

If the tire is under warranty the tire company should pay for the repairs needed. -

Last years convention was in Madison Wisconson. -
The new K&N filter is doing a good job of filtering. I beta tested one of their filters for 1 1/2 years, then had the oil analyzed. Came back ok. I have been using one of the first production units since May and everything is good. I have a ISB 275. The filter material does not filter less.

As pointed out earlier in this posting by Mr Wolfe you do have a total of 50 amps. I don't understand your math. As far as not applying to 99.9% of the readers, I know of a number of users of this type of system. Its not that complicated and any one with a basic understanding of electricity can do it with minimal expense.

Just pointing out what can be done, so you don't have to be restricted with the way you bought it.

Just checked into the Wilmington Oh Thousand Trails which has 30 and 20gfi on the pedistal. Plugged in both the 30 and 20 amp cord and am running both airs.

desertdeals69 replied to Yak61's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I have tested led bulbs and they are not as bright although they draw less current.
