You should tour the Wild Turkey distillery too while in KY. IF they are open to visitors now.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk
rayin replied to hermanmullins's topic in General Discussion
I nearly lost my DW in Feb. 2016 when she hit a patch of black ice in a curve on a state highway.. The front wheels of her Jeep slid straight ahead until they got onto the crushed stone on the berm. The stone threw her Jeep into a spin, then a large oncoming box truck rear-ended her Jeep. -
I just needed a junk yard dog back then.

When the engine is at operating temperature feel the heater hose from the engine to the heater core, is it hot to the touch? If not, feel closer to the engine on the engine side of the flow control valve, again is it hot to the touch? If yes, that valve is faulty or the control is not opening the valve. On older vehicles I have seen people remove that non-working valve and replace it with a 1/4 turn ball-valve; then simply open the valve for heater use, close for air-conditioner use..

I meant to put this in picture of the day and fat-fingered the topic, enjoy it anyway. -
I have lost several hand tools using those pockets/tool holders. I don't know if they bounced out or passersby though they were free samples.

You're welcome Jleamont! Since we are getting more and more towables in FMCA I thought this reminder to read the Family RVing magazine articles appropriate.

I think the load range skips from H to L, I forget why.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

Weather forecaster said this morning it will be below freezing in Indiana for the next 7 days, next weekend below 0 at night. I wish I was well, we'd be somewhere in the deep South. That reminds me, tomorrow I'd better bring my battery watering can inside to thaw so I can check the MH batteries. -
It''s still very saddening.

Check out this Kidde fire escape ladder to see if it will fit your both. It is designed for a stix N brix house but may be cut off to fit your MH. The problem I see is the 16" high window, unless you are both skinny getting out that window will be quite difficult. Our bedroom escape window is tall and wide enough, with a 6' drop to the ground. If we are injured falling out the window it is still better than being killed from smoke inhalation. You have approx. 4 minutes to escape before smoke and heat overcome you. IMO preventative actions are best, inspect the engine compartment for any fuel or oil leaks and correct them prior to each trip, as the leading cause of MH fires is the engine compartment.

I did not know of that, thanks for the correction.

Sad, I'm sorry for your loss. Since that exclusion is not anywhere on the FMCAassist webpage, I would call Mr. Bell at FMCA HQ and ask him questions concerning this exclusion and what others are not found on the FMCA website.

I would say the charge rate is too high. Your lead acid battery charging rate should be 10% of rated capacity for best battery longevity. Lets suppose you have 1 chassis battery and 2 coach batteries, all are rated at 100A, that totals 300A X 10%= 30A maximum charging rate. You can charge at a higher rate, the result is battery life is reduced and the cells require more frequent checking/adding distilled water, extreme over-charging may result in warped plates and acid solution boiling.

Last Friday I received the 2nd COVID vaccine shot. Saturday I felt feverish but OK. Monday my left upper arm swelled and hurt, late in the night my left upper arm began itching. i went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, my left arm was-and still is covered with bright red spots surrounded by a redish hue. My neck aches too. Then the the diarrhea hit, I've taken more Imodium than ever in my life. I may move a small TV into my bathroom. I called the place that gave me the shot and was advised to take benadryl to reduce swelling and apply ice packs to my arm. No-on seems alarmed by this but DW and me. I gave my wife the phone number for the national vaccine injury compensation program just in case this goes South. ernee the same thing happened in BCT, our entire company was lined up for shots, anticipating some of us were destined for RVN after BCT. One guy jerked his arm and the high-pressure gun cut his tricep open. They carried him out of line and restarted the production line. I think our entire BCT company was done in 2 hours. Personally, I thought the high-pressure gun was less painful than the needles. Alcohol wipe, never saw one. I think I received 7 shots that day, I remember some of them was bubonic plague, gamma globlin, yellow fever, can't remember the rest. That was August/Sep 1966. The kicker was, I was sent to FT. Lewis, WA where I got another round of shots. like they never looked at my shot card. -
The complete information is in the latest issue of Family RVing and pertains to sidewall rupture.

In 2017 I replaced all 6 of the Goodyears on my MH with Sailun 275/70R22.5 LR H S637 all-position tires. My final bill was $1,380; that included spin balancing all 6, and old tire disposal fees. Sailun truck tires are made in Vietnam to the same standards as Michelin truck tires.

Can you enter/exit your driveway at an angle instead of straight in? This usually allows you more room to avoid dragging. What is the angle of your driveway and is the street level, if you don't know the use of a free phone app is the solution. Then it's a simple matter of geometry to calculate how much the rear of the MH must be raised. Some folks have built-up the low point with boards enough to enter/exit without interference. There are some MH's that have the feature to over-inflate the air springs, or so I've read.

Ask yourself, "what has changed since the interior lights and receptacles last worked?" That is where to focus your attention. I have not seen a towable with a main disconnect switch for the batteries from the factory, I have seen them installed aftermarket. I agree with kaysmith, since the batteres are aftermarket their wiring should be closely inspected as that seems to be what has changed. You said certain plugs and lights usually worked, that sounds like they were connected to the inverter and powered by same.

RV Extended Warranty - Who can you trust?

Contact wholesalewarranties.com and request a quote, they have a very good reputation. Being an independent agent they find the best deal to fit your needs. -
Bill, he evidently works for Connex Electrical.

Thanks Carl, Bill and everyone. The latest blood test showed my kidneys have recovered to where I was removed from the dialysis list and the infusion ports were removed. I'm still on the list for gall bladder and pancreas removal. The irony of this is, the day before I was hauled to the hospital I bought a 1/2G bourbon, a fifth of Fireball and a case of Michelob. garmp, I apologize for hijacking your interesting thread.

Sailun commercial truck tires has a model S606, 295/80R22.5, LR L, premium all-position tire with adequate load carrying capacity. I have Sailun tires on my MH and IMO they perform better than the Goodyear G670's they replaced. In 2017 I paid $1,380 for 6 275/70R22.5 tires mounted and balanced incl. taxes. They are made in Vietnam using the same construction design as Michelin.

You jogged my memory. I too had to download the alignment specs from Reyco-Granning(maker of my IFS) and hand it to the shop owner. His alignment computer contained incorrect specs that really showed up in the first road test.
