  1. Yup, call mfgr. I have asked at a dealership before and all I got was a deer in the headlights look.
  2. There is a utube video about governor problems, the man in the video displayed a worn braided SST covered air line that had failed inside yet appeared OK on the outside. It was the problem instead of the governor. I forget where that video is now, the video was about a HDT.
  3. Thanks for the update on your project. I'm learning something from your posts.
  4. The air governor looks like this depending on chassis and engine it is mounted on the air compressor or a stand-alone. This is a utube video of an air governor installation How long since you had the air dryer serviced? A faulty air dryer can cause this. With the proper fittings the air dryer may be bypassed to test the system. If it builds air pressure when the dryer is bypassed, replace the air dryer, which is usually cheaper than having it totally rebuilt. That said, the air governor will not allow the air compressor to build pressure while the jacks are down on my Spartan chassis.

    New Tire Questions

I forget where I read that Roger, it was long ago It could have been so long ago it concerned bias-ply tires. Should I forget about that? The LR L tires I was offered were Firestone for the same price as the Sailun LR H tires. I remember reading on your website more sidewall flex generated more heat.
  6. UPDATED: danny this might not pertain to your chassis, as I have a Spartan chassis. About 3 years ago we stopped at a rest area, when I started the engine to leave just as soon as I pushed D on the transmission pad the engine died and all power to the cockpit was lost. After 10-15 minutes the power cam back and I started the engine, pushed D and the same thing happened. That repeated about 5 times. I called roadside assistance, who sent a mobile mechanic. He had me show him all the battery connection points on our MH and he tested each one. He found the problem on the firewall where a battery cable attached to a distribution box, the retaining nut was about to fall off it was so loose. He tightened that nut and that problem has never repeated. Perhaps my experience will be of some use.
  7. To me that sounds like a loose connection or broken wire inside the coating that got nudged when you changed the filter.
  8. Richard, have you visited this website yet? There is a contact listed for a Kysor engineer, but that thread is from 2005.

    Surgery

Care to give us an update Herman? Sure hope you are doing well..
  10. IMO it's thinking outside the box like this that inspires better management. It was called brainstorming years ago.
  11. Ford Focus and Ram truck use a Kysor radiator shutter. Don't know more though, probably electric today.
  12. motor oil will wick so I'm confident air tool oil will also. When I was a boy I watched my uncle insert a short length of hemp rope into a bucket of black motor oil on a stool, the other end was just above an empty pail on the floor. a few days later the oil in the floor bucket was clean oil and the rope was almost black to the lower end. That was probably about 1950. He then put the clear motor oil back into his tractor. Best of my knowledge the thinnest oil available is kerosene. Neatsfoot oil is thicker than air tool oil, I used neatsfoot on my saddles it is not meant to be a lubricant but a preservative.
  13. I wonder if continuing to drive your MH since Ford now knows there is a significant problem might jeopardize your warranty?
  14. I agree with Bill, air tool oil contains no additives to dry-out or ruin seals. I estimate it is near 5W oil, I'd have to go read my can to be sure. I used a few drops to get my air cylinder that moves my step cover working again. That was 3 years ago, still works fine.
  15. Coach-Net premier motorized plan, join now $249. Coach-Net premier towable plan, join now $179. https://coach-net.com/247-protect-2/#TowableRV
  16. I have read about similar situations where a dealership was not available, so the company had a list of authorized repair shops that are authorized to perform warranty work. It's worth asking Ford customer service if that is accurate information. That Ford dealership that told you it might be the steering angle sensor, how soon could they get your vehicle in for warranty work?
  17. DW uses DampRid buckets. Once she used the DampRid that hangs on the closet rod. one leaked into my elephant skin boots and ruined them, the leather got hard and shrank where it got wet with whatever chemical in in DampRid, that caused the switch to the buckets. If you leave windows open whatever the ambient humidity so will be everything in the RV, which invites mildew and mold in humid areas of the country. A side note; After inventing a dehumidifier Mr. Carrier thought of a use for the chilled air. Running the A/C on low reduces humidity first, chilled air is a side effect.
  18. If I remember hydraulics classes correctly the smallest diameter in the plumbing system determines total flow rate.
  19. Have the batteries been load-tested? Sounds like a shorted plate in a battery, which should still be under warranty..
  20. Carl that's first year, second returns to regularly $159.95/yr for premium plan. Premium Complete plan is regularly $239.95/yr. The standard plan does not cover motorized vehicles $129.95/yr. All introductory rates are 1/2 price for first year members. The GS roadside assistance plans have been the same price for 3 years now.
  21. What does the contract you signed state ? This is very similar to a health insurance policy/contract. You must comply with all terms and conditions for a claim to be honored. When that is documented the claim must be paid.
  22. Your CCC= cargo carrying capacity is 71,000lb???
  23. Tireman9 recommends a 10% safety margin. The NTSB says to use what the vehicle mfgr. recommends.Keep in mind running a tire at the load/inflation minimum is running the tire at 100% capacity.
