  1. Yep, I suspect it cost as much to build as the motorcycle cost. The website I got that from said it was for beer, but that would be a lot of weight to tow with that motorcycle. Perhaps it carries a couple of kegs with taps behind a door somewhere? One keg of beer(15.5G) is 130# net weight, so I suspect your are correct. Sure wouldn't want those trailer brakes to fail with it full of beer and me on 2 wheels.

    Tires Replaced

Concerning long-term storage; Tire mfgrs. recommend inflating to sidewall listed pressure if rims match that pressure. I always lower the leveling jacks to remove most weight from tires. When you get that alignment make sure they do a total alignment, this include the rear axle/thrust angle.
  3. When you need to be sure to take enough beer to the party,
  4. That reminds me of our Alaska trip with a SMART caravan. One man was always doing his own thing. One morning the wagonmaster told us to ignore our GPS and rely instead on his written directions. That stubborn man followed his GPS and turned onto a blacktop road while the rest of us proceeded to a highway the written instructions identified. When the man finally arrived at the overnight CG-after dark, his wife told the days events. He had made that turn, the blacktop turned into gravel, gravel into dirt. The dirt road ended in a forest. She said they unhooked the towed, backed the MH about 1/2 mile to a small clearing and made a multiple-point turnaround. Drove to their towed, reattached it then she demanded he follow the written instructions. Boy she was mad_.
  5. Carfax is a money-making joke IMO; their reporting system is completely voluntary, there is no requirement by any agency or governmental unit to report repaired damage or repairs. I once bought a pickup, bought a carfax that showed no damages had been reported. My nephew is a rebuilder, he looked my purchase over and told me the frame had been straightened.
  6. We too travel between 9AM and 3PM, This allows beginning after workers rush hour and stopping early enough to obtain a CG site without a reservation usually. Then we have time to take a walk, swim in the CG pool, etc. before dinner. Popular tourist destinations now require a reservation, something we are still getting used to yet today. For instance, if you plan on reserving a campsite at/ near Yellowstone NP you are already behind the curve or out of luck.
  7. Thankfully no fire. Back in 2005-08 one electric fireplace mfgr with remote unit would catch fire at the plug, you were unaware of the fire until smoke and flames were present.
  8. It used to be called the crankcase breather filter. Cummins major components locations.
  9. Wildbill I've been looking at this telescoping flagpole, and base that goes under the wheel.
  10. April 1 I 75 N is very busy. My strategy is to stay out of the way of the maniacs in cars who want to drive 80 MPH in the heavy traffic. That means I stay in the right lane until I reach I 10 where traffic thins out some. As Wildbill said, if there is a traffic stopping crash I pull off into a rest area or truck stop and wait until traffic is moving again.
  11. Black is what Tireman9 recommends too.
  12. Oops, I forgot about aspect of the device Richard. I'll have to buy that kit.
  13. Richard I looked closer at your picture and I already have everything to assemble one. That's a good project for a rainy day if it ever warms up here so I won't have to heat the garage.
  14. Thank you for posting your experience, I plan to replace my slide topper material after I recover from upcoming gall bladder surgery.
  15. The battery charger function is a separate part of the inverter. The charger module may have gone bad and require repair. The specs state the charger has a maximum 100A capacity. Your maximum charging rate ideally should be 30% of total lead-acid battery capacity for battery longevity. Hopefully this utube video on charger repair will be helpful. 16. I uprated from LR G(OEM) to LR H which have a sidewall listed pressure of 130 psi, however I cannot utilize that as my Alcoa rims are stamped @ 120 psi. I run the Federal Tire Placard pressures of 116 psi-front, 95 psi rear duals. I have to get the MH reweighed as I cannot find the old weigh tickets after I spent a month in hospital from Dec. 12-Jan 14 this winter. Regardless of MH weights I always run by the placard anyway, I've tried it both ways, DW and I cannot detect any difference in ride (which IMO is a poor reason to reduce pressure anyway. And Goodyear agrees) As we know radial tires footprint remains nearly the same regardless of running load/inflation or placard pressure. The old bias-ply tires were very different, over-inflation greatly reduced the footprint.
  17. His post says Boise ID. I have no help from here in IN.
  18. Welcome to the FMCA discussion forums!
  19. I'm happy you mentioned the 35% reserve capacity for cars. That should also apply to my MH tires if I choose to ignore load/inflation charts and go by the Federal Tire Placard in my MH, which is the minimum pressure for the GVWR.

    Downsizing

I think Tiffin used the Cummins 450 HP ISM engine in some of their 36' MH"s about 15-18 years ago. That will get you up the steep mountains in a hurry.
  22. By far the most reliable and complete leak detection process is The SealTech leak detection system.
  23. If I may add, reading the contract also reminds the reader of the proper procedures in the contract. I followed the procedures in the contract, after-the-fact ,and was promptly reimbursed for the claim.
  24. I use the KISS method, I let the water pump shut off and do not use any water for a few hours, If the pump does not cycle there are no leaks. While waiting I was sitting in a lounge chair outside near the open pump compartment with a few cold beverages and the latest issue of the FMCA magazine.
