I was a member for the last one, it was the only time I got to vote in FMCA. At least everyone had the opportunity to vote.

Yes this SARS-CoV-2 virus really messed up the supply chain, business's shut down for 4 months created a huge backlog. Cummins parts same-day delivery turned into 2 weeks at Cummins Great Plains.

Carl I wish we could get that HP to weight ratio in a MH.

bounder4, any progress so far? The house battery disconnect switch does not disconnect the LP detector and possibly a few other items. IMO it is best to remove the negative battery cables(after they are fully-charged) for long term storage.Have you put a charger on the house battery bank yet?

I have no interest in either PPA or this new RV resort. PPA just announced this in an email: There has been many discussions this year about the shortage of RV parks,, and sites. This new 1,000 site resort might help relieve the shortage in Florida. https://resortatcanopyoaks.com/?CID=mvbrief_passport is an FMCA member RV resort. That email also announced Hackberry RV park in Cliifton, TX joined PPA.

I read that article, sounds like more than enough blame for Firestone and Ford to share. The listed causes of the crashes are interesting. I found another website stating Ford widened the axle width after that was resolved.

Just a reminder to all retired Veterans that now is the time to review your Benefits with TRICARE. This link fully explains the nature of the importance of reviewing your selections and DEERS information. As it states it is for Retired, active duty, and gray area retirees. https://www.tricare.mil/CoveredServices/BenefitUpdates/Archives/11_13_2020_TRICARE_Webinar_Nov_19

Richard I agree. We do not belong to a chapter for a personal health reason, that is not a valid reason to not have a vote IMO. Invariably when someone attempts to talk to my DW they begin questioning her about her health problem, which is very rude. Consequently we have not attended a group meeting in years; I doubt we will ever do so again, however I would like a voice in matters of an organization to which i pay dues. Presently the only way I have to participate is trying to be helpful and share what modicum of knowledge I have with others as I see the issue on these forums. minidmo makes an excellent point! I hope management is reading and taking notes.

I completely agree Carl. I asked about carrying 4 passengers in a car compared to only the driver. That weight difference is substantial yet no-one I know adjusts car tire pressure for the corresponding load. That is exactly the same situation many MH owners quote when following load/inflation charts, never mind the fact the charts are showing the minimum pressure for the corresponding load. I'd bet money commercial bus drivers nor bus line owners follow load/inflation charts. Hey, this had been beaten to death-so to speak. Like Ross said time to quit before hard feelings between internet friends happen.. I wish everyone a healthy and happy Thanksgiving or what they observe!

Can't keep doors closed on refrigerator
rayin replied to dontayman001's topic in Systems and Appliances
This is a picture of the Norcold 1210 showing the cam lock in the center of the bottom of the fridge. If the flapper is broken or missing the doors will not stay closed nor will the fridge doors stay closed. The fridge will not maintain a cold temperature and will have extreme frost buildup. If your 1210 does not have the flapper what seals between the doors? Page 50 of the Nnorcold 12XX service manual shows the flapper and operation. -
I agree Bill! They produce great videos on a variety of RVing subjects.

The cam is in the bottom of the fridge in the center. The flapper must enter that cam-action to fully close the doors, it does not hold them closed. You see two wires going into the flapper, these power the small heat strip in the flapper, it prevents moisture buildup on the flapper that would otherwise drip onto the floor. You are right velcro will not work on the flat front. Each door latch will hold it closed, when you open a door your fingertips depress the latch for that door. While this is a different model, the flapper shown works exactly the same as ours. Ignore everything else: -

Ross I don't understand??? The Tire placard lists the front and rear axle GAWR and the corresponding tire pressure. How will doing that cause an under-inflation scenario unless the MH is overweight?

Are you sure the door flap was correct? If it does not cam into the lock neither door will close. I have never experienced that with my Norcold 1200LRIIM. Since new seals are not available, the entire door must be replaced according to Norcold,; however there are universal fridge door seal replacements on Amazon that may be retro-fitted with a little skill. Here is another source. Aftermarket door locks are also on Amazon. The test is to place a dollar bill between door jamb and seal, if you cam easily pull it out the seal is either dirty or the magnet is bad. Before spending money, thoroughly clean all the seals, paying attention to the folds. Some Norcold owners have had some success by placing padding in between the folds then allowing the doors to stand open during storage -
That adding 10# is to prevent running your tires at 100% capacity; no safety margin.

IMO that is the whole point of operating ties with lower pressure per tire load/inflation charts,to simply attempt to obtain a smoother ride. BTW Goodyear says that is futile even though they provide load/inflation charts to prevent under-inflation. I wonder if anyone runs lower pressure in their auto tires simply to obtain a smoother ride?

Look at the placard in your bus. The listed air pressure is adequate for temperature changes. Does anyone assume commercial bus drivers adjust tire air pressure as they drive from CA to WY in December? For RossBoyer; The NHTSA (another link) says to inflate to the Federal Tire Placard in the vehicle, that's what i do for all my vehicles. What do you do for your autos when you are the only occupant vs having 4 passengers, do you adjust tire pressure to the load ?
-
Indiana is the same, Game wardens have more authority than state police.
-
OTOH, you could do as I, inflate to the Federal Tire Placard listed pressures in the vehicle and never half to adjust tire pressure because of ambient temperature.

Rather than attempt to go into all the details of why a 1/2T pickup is not adequate, I refer you to this online TT towing calculator. Please note some blocks require actual weights instead of mfgrs advertised weights. This calculator removes all the bravado and personal opinions from the subject. Where it asks for truck weight, be sure you have everything you are taking with you in the truck; it makes a huge difference. http://changingears.com/rv-sec-calc-trailer-weight-tt.shtml

Already has, only yesterday I was a lean mean fighting machine, now I'm a plump easy-going couch-er computer chair potato. -
While not directly answering the question, this may be useful: RVers and the 4th Amendment.
-
Don't forget, ST =special trailer tires are limited to 65MPH maximum, except for about 2 brands; some mfgrs.recommend replacing them every 3 years.

There is an alternative to Lithium batteries that eliminates the cold weather issue. SIO2 batteries are gaining traction with the solar community. For sales this website has more information:
