  1. Perhaps the *&^privacy laws invaded FMCA too.

    Surgery

All will go well Herman, do as the Dr. and therapist say and you'll heal fine. Rehab is very important, i approached it as if my life depended on it, and it really does. The therapists in rehab were reminding me every session to slow down a bit, as my heart rate and BP climbed too high for safety. Now I'm ready to go hiking and shed this 20# I've gained in the last 9 months of staying home. That was in 2005, my heart is very healthy for being 78, with 3 extra-long stents a few years after the quad-bypass. My best to you!
  3. We took the oldest two grandchildren to Niagara Falls when they were 12 13. Now we have 17 and 4 greats. We quickly saw the light(our nerves would not survive) and stopped traveling with grandchildren after that first trip, thankfully. Now we limit gatherings to a back yard party.
  4. Have chairs will travel. New business cards on order. With considerable help from Mr. Ball I'm in like flint -finally. He had to send me a temp. password via his email, the software links do not work yet. BTW, I cleared everything from my FF browser, no joy.. My old password was still in the FMCA system??? All is well now.
  5. I spent my OJT(welder, machinist) in 339th Engineer construction Bn, Ft. Lewis, WA. Better late than never, Welcome to the forums.

    air bags

Thanks Carl, great advice. I'll buy a rear and a front, I think they are different numbers. Firestone air spring construction.
  7. Jim I think he said two people in IT now, and are working hard to accomplish this change--over and work out the bugs. I gather from things I have read, HQ has reduced staff to bare-bones and still operate.

    air bags

I just inspected the air springs under our MH, all are smooth, no cracks, creases, folds, or anything. I'm going to hold off replacing these originals for the present.
  9. Now I have to create a new password before I can log-in each time. Dumb system, I used the same password and it signed me in as soon as I clicked on continue.
  10. Welcome back Joe! I took 10 minutes to get signed-in this morning, I forgot how I did it, had to re-read Wayne's instructions.

Joe, his signature indicates a 1998 MH. MIne is a 1999 Spartan chassis, I will be inspecting my air springs soon as a result of this thread.
  12. Thanks for educating me Joe. Of course my old ABS system is not like that, however I wonder if the same trick might apply to getting a wheel sensor working again. My auto mechanic told me to use my pressure washer on straight stream and wash the backside of each wheel, from the opposite side of course. He said road debris can clog the slots in the tone rings, which activates the ABS warning light. I did that and now my ABS dash light now only comes on at startup check functions. I used the pressure washer in 1013, no re-occurrence since. Some design engineers think they must create job security by coming up with new ideas, even though it is not an improvement.
  13. Wayne, we ground pounders think the same way. One step at a time.
  14. I don't think that is the case Carl. This is a major undertaking. Wayne, I'm afraid to sign out, I may not be able to duplicate what I did to get here today.
  15. The ABS system does not affect the engine, nor does it affect braking ability. The light on simply means you now have the same type brakes as a vehicle without an ABS system. This is just my guess since we do not know the brand or model of the drive engine; perhaps Eric will bless us with that vital information. If this is a fuel problem, restricted fuel flow, the lift pump is sucking air, or if the engine is pre-2003 (assuming a Cummins diesel) the fuel distributor module on the CAPS injector pump may be failing, as it is powered by 12V. Or, the fuel shutoff solenoid may be intermittently losing 12V power because of a broken wire or loose connection. It is held open via power from the ignition key so engine gets fuel.
  16. That leaves tie-rods and ends, improper castor and camber, or an inadequate total alignment, loose steering gear, inadequate shocks. I once had an alignment guy tell me a solid front axle's camber or castor cannot be changed, which we know is incorrect; I've watched it happen.
  17. Now that I got signed in, I read the link elibedarn posted, the answer is in that article: "A recent class-action lawsuit filed in 2019 (Lessin v. Ford Motor Company), says the death wobble is caused by a defect linked to abnormal wear or loosening of the track bar bushing, damper bracket, ball joints, control arms, shocks or struts. The California Consumer Attorney state, the lawsuit “alleges that Ford knew that components within 2005-2019 F-250 and F-350 suspension systems are prone to failure, but failed to notify customers or even properly address the problem.”
  18. Wayne sent me the link to sign-in, I couldn't get past the change password page. This time I clicked the return to sign-in page line. There was a red sign-in button at top right, which I clicked. WaLA, here i am. I'm not sure I really know how I got here. I'm not gonna sign-out for a few days as a result. I fully expect all that to change in the next 11 days though, as HQ finishes their work.
  19. Only time I had a problem was during the shakeup. Everything is operating fine since then. I use a W10 computer running FireFox or Edge.
  20. This ongoing thread about the Bluefire device and software contains a lot of information, 288 posts to date.
  21. X 4 for the exhaust temperature gauge pre-turbo; melted valves are expensive. When you are pushing a 12' x 8' wall at speed there is no substitute for CI. As a buddy put it, "you can't soup-up a boxcar."
  22. Duh, thanks for the jolt of reality Bill, I must have been asleep at the keyboard.
  23. Stewarts RV is the HWH dealer in Elkhart Indiana; they normally have quicker response times than the factory that supp[lies the entire industry. Ebay has a set for $37. I have 3 old-style(straight coil) springs in the garage JIC.
