  1. I suspect this involves heat strips. There is an aftermarket electric furnace; Cheap Heat The installation manual contains more detailed information than the website.
  2. I agree with the vacuum breaker theory. To test this, when you reassemble the toilet, leave the line to the vacuum breaker off of the breaker and put it in a 1G jug, then briefly push the pedal enough to determine if water flows. I realize you've had this unit apart many times, however if you don't already have one, here is the parts list.

  6. Carl, sneak up on the topper tightening, I had that water pooling problem with our last 5er. I had it tightened under warranty at the dealer. When I used the 5er again, the topper was so tight the top would not extend fully, had about a inch difference between top and bottom. That caused a return to the dealer. I suspect it was tightened when retracted and not tested. Some folks use an inflatable beach ball under the topper during rain/snow.

  8. Calling tireman9_ your advice is welcome! I would try to negotiate a lower price and buy. Shoot the Toyo, Saillun, Hercules, and other lesser known brands are about $300 ea. now.

  18. I agree with Carl, 13.6VDC float is normal. Exide states my particular batteries should float charge at 13.8 VDC.
  19. I have an electric "suitcase" washer from Home Depot, yes it came in a plastic suitcase, it is 1,200 psi, which is enough for me. It is very handy to carry/store in a bay. I took it along on our Alaska trip, by the time we returned to Sumas WA, nearly everyone in the caravan had borrowed it.
  20. To me this, if accurate, indicates the batteries are not actually depleted/run down. Have you independently tested them by disconnecting each one and testing voltage level with a load tester? Have you measured for phantom amp draw? This would eliminate the batteries from the equation and narrow the possibilities to a faulty inverter/charger or the "device" Brett suggested; I would expect that "device" to be a BIRD unit+ solenoid in a high-end MH.

  23. I have experienced this situation with all three RV types. It's my considered opinion a well-matched 5th wheel trailer and 1T dually truck handles best in the situations you describe. One type MH not addressed is one with a tag-axle, I have not driven one yet, so that is unknown to me.
