  1. Try contacting the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce. The chambers website says keyline sales is only open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Regrettably that sounds to me like a business in financial trouble.
  2. Wayne you might need your furnace this coming week. Here in S. IN lows are forecast in the 40's at night. Depending on when you leave to head home, The Parke county covered bridge festival is Oct. 13-22. We always park the MH at the Parke county fairgrounds North of Rockville IN for the festival, 50A E only. The management doesn't care if the front of our MH is smashed up, so we're going this year.
  3. Have you joined the FMCA Beaver Ambassador Club yet? They have a wealth of knoweldge of their MH'.s.
  4. I"d really like for the elected officials to post once in a while but it's obvious why they don't. Like when Chris would post everyone would pile on with complaints instead of conversing in a reasonable manner. Then there's the time element, every hour they spend on the forums is one less they have to devote to managing the company. Someone mentioned taking FMCA funds must work 24/7 for the company. I wonder if that was their philosophy when they were holding down a full-time job; or they spent time with their family and friends.
  5. To follow up with wildbill's recommendation: https://nrvta.com/ https://rvtaa.org/locate/ Just because someone is listed with either of those organizations, doesn't mean you shouldn't ask questions about gualifications, length of time in the trade, are they familiar with how to resolve your issues, etc. It's your property and your money at stake.
  6. That was a business arrangement, treat it as such. You MH was damaged from poor instructions from that instructor, file a claim with the RV school's insurance co. for damages. That instructors feelings and job status are not your concern. If the owner balks, there is always your state insurance office to help you with the company.
  7. Cylinder replacement is required, those rods are destroyed with corrosion. They are not rebuildable. What brand is the hydraulic slide mechanism? If the brand is HWH, use this emergency room retract procedure. Replacement cylinders can be ordered from the HWH factory in Iowa or Stewart's Services in Elkhart Indiana.
  8. Years ago the FMCA michelin tire program webpage had a statement something like this: Before buying Michelin tires through the FMCA program, check with local Michelin dealers. Sometimes they will sell tires for less than you can buy through the program. That statement has been missing for about 4=5 years now, but I think it is still sound advice. And yes, quite often I read of a FMCA member having to educate a Michelin dealer on that program.
  9. There are bushings that wear out, and stops that can get out of adjustment. Both are likely caused by lack of preventative maintenance- lubricating monthly. This will tell you how to identify you model, diagnose and repair your steps: Kiwkee Products Service Training Manual
  10. If you can stand the weather on your roof, make sure the drain pan under each coil is draining properly. If the indoor fan can pickup built-up water from the drain pan it can spray it back into the warmed air.
  11. Your comment begs the question; was the hose installed backwards?
  12. Make an appt. with the W factory and go there to have the slide repaired. Several years ago I had slide mechanism problems and my dealer recommended taking it to the factory for repairs. I did that, and the factory service manager told me why. Dealer techs do so few slide mechanism repairs they cannot become proficient, and usually have a lot of difficulty getting everything right. FWIW, that slide never again had any issues. Turned out my slide mechanism had a bent section from when it was built, and that's why it kept shearing bolts on the motor/gearbox.
  13. Check the breakers for the inverter. Even when running the genset or on shore-power the inverter most likely has a pass-through feature, and is most likely a 30A breaker. Together the micro and air fryer pull more than 30A. Sorry, Bill. I didn't read to the bottom and duplicated your reply.
  14. Gas genset, right? It requires constant voltage from some source to run. It's time to begin checking for voltage at the genset starter solenoid. BTW that 13,4V is not your batteries,, it is the battery charger voltage, good batteries at rest should read 12.8V when fully charged. If you have voltage at that solenoid on one terminal, have someone try to start the genset while you check for voltage on both large posts. If there isn't voltage on both posts the solenoid/relay is defective. With any 12V issue, begin at the power source and test the entire circuit until you locate the fault, including the 2nd half of the circuit-the ground.
  15. By law it is not a warranty, it is an Extended Service Contract/ESC. Since it is a contract with terms and conditions, it is most important to read the fine print before signing. Another thing about an ESC; if you do not purchase the gaskets and seals rider and an engine gasket fails, which ruins the engine, it is consequential damage and not covered. Wholesale Warranties.com is an independent agent that handles multiple ESC companies, and match your preferences to a particular company. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but hopefully you learned a hard lesson_read the fine print first. I bought an ESC from Good Sam and never had a claim denied, I like to think it was because I took my time and read the fine print before signing. I was happy with my purchase.
  16. I've had that happen with Good Sam ERS, The supervisor who called said to phone and request a reimbursement form when I got back home; complete the form and attach copies of my paid bills. Four weeks later I received a check for the full amount. The contracted providers have the option to refuse a call when they are busy, so "stuff" happens over which we have no control. It's taken me 80 years to learn to roll with the punch. All ERS companies operate with the same business model. They have a list of contracted providers. The operator who takes your call must go through the list, by calling each one,, and find the lowest price quoted for your call. Then they dispatch that lowest bidder that has the equipment to handle your situation.. One time Good Sam/Allstate could not find a provider with the equipment to tow my MH 60 miles on an Interstate. (reference above) I asked the RV park owner and he recommended a HDT wrecker service 80 miles away. The rest of the story is my first paragraph.
  17. The operators can only read the questions on the computer screen and respond your answers. If you have any trouble with an operator, request to speak with a supervisor; they do know their job well. I assume you knew about only paying for your meals, as I'm sure you read the contract fine print before signing, just as you do any legal contract. How does the Coach-Net contract differ from the Safe-Ride contract fine print? I'm curious.
  18. FWIW, Cummins says their engines and Allison transmissions powering a MH is considered light-duty use. For comparison, Cummins says those same combos powering a garbage truck is considered extreme-duty use for the sake of maintenance schedule.
  19. That's proof that you really do get what you pay for.
  20. Thank you Don for the clarification.
  21. I read that webpage and it begs the question. If you choose "redeem now" it starts a 5-minute timer to expiration. How in the world are you going to fill your 80G tank then go inside to claim the reward within 5 minutes????? Either the webpage is poorly-written or it is unrealistic.
  22. Use a length of string and follow the entire belt around pulleys back to the end of the string, and mark. Then measure length of string. Count the grooves in the belt. Take those facts to your local NAPA store, along with the make -year and model of your engine. They can match up to a new belt. BTW, when replacing a belt, replace the tensioner too.
  23. I forget, what is your MH brand and model, chassis?
