  1. I would suspect there's still a break in that wire somewhere, or bad connection, even a faulty switch.. It's time to get out your VOM and begin testing. I''d begin with the that fuse holder then follow the wire, wiggling it as you go to expose and breaks under the sheathing. Bill is right, batteries act as a filter to smooth out any variations from the charger, and if just one cell is bad the battery no longer acts as a filter.
  2. In the city I suspect a licensed electrician is required, and perhaps a permit.

    Tires from FMCA

Concerning age of tires and storage; this is very informative although published by a law firm. https://wfirm.com/tires-expire-in-six-years/

    ceiling vent

WELCOME TO THE FMCA DISCUSSION FORUMS! This will be 12VDC power coming to the switch, not 120VAC, and it will be fused back upstream somewhere.
  6. I just remembered to update this, I'm receiving a hard copy magazine now, thanks!
  7. Exactly! The best example of that is, Simple Green is not safe for aluminum according to the label; Simple Green Extreme is safe for aluminum according to the label.
  8. In addition to Ross's excellent advice, I use household air conditioning foaming coil cleaner that says "safe for aluminum". It sprays on then foams and pushes its way into the fins and crevices of the radiators. Then washes away with a water hose, my pressure washer is too strong to use on radiator fins.
  9. Depending on how your gear is cut, Look here: https://www.mcmaster.com/products/spur-gears/metal-gears-and-gear-racks-14-1-2-pressure-angle/ or here: https://www.mcmaster.com/products/spur-gears/metal-gears-and-gear-racks-20-pressure-angle/
  10. Is this electric wire heat directly or electric-liquid heat??
  11. I was surprised to find out how many luxury motorhomes are built using the Prevost bus. Only in my dreams will I ever own one.
  12. Yes, every propane appliance in your RV is designed to be safe while driving, however they must be turned off while refueling. This describes how your absorption refrigerator cooling unit works, and how the ARP Fridge Defend prolongs its working life.

    New tires

It's been a few months since the extensive flood damage North of Yellowstone NP, but I'd call ahead to get the latest information about traveling there.

    Jack Pads

If your brand leveling system is HWH, they say to never use more than one wool leveling block under each jack for safety reasons. The plastic pads click together so they cannot slide sideways. chindog is right about crushed stone or gravel destroying the bottom one. Nearly everyone knows this, but JIC, never raise the rear axle of a MH off the ground!
  15. If the coach battery bank is turned on/ connected so interior lights work, the only thing that keeps the coach batteries from charging is the inverter/charger is not turned on or the builtin charger is not working. With the MH plugged into shore power measure coach battery voltage, if the charger is working you should read at minimum of 13 VDC. If the reading is less than 13VDC check the inverters charger for output. You can find the wiring diagrams online.
  16. Short version; the chassis is a 1 ton truck chassis, it's going to ride like a truck. IMO your best option is to drive slower. Like wildbill said, install new shocks if the present ones are original. Shocks do not make the ride, their only function is to stop wheel bounce after hitting a chuckhole or pavement rough spot which is transmitted through the suspension to the occupants.
  17. Sounds hard to believe, but have your MH alignment checked, not just a front wheel alignment but a total alignment that includes checking are correcting thrust angle. One telltale sign the thrust angle is out is the steering wheel is not level when driving straight. It is possible the weight of your towed is enough pull to affect steering if thrust angle is incorrect. (otherwise known as dog-tracking) https://www.brakeandfrontend.com/alignment-specs-thrust-angle-and-setback/ FWIW, my rear axle was out of alignment by 3/4" , no more pull to the right and steering wheel is level.

    New tires

IN 2017 I replaced my Goodyear G670's with 6 Sailun 265/70R22.5 LR H truck tires, all 6 balanced and installed on MH; total cost was $1,,380 at a locally-owned tire shop. Today the price has almost doubled due to rapidly rising popularity and the price. They are a copy of Michelin truck tires, made in Vietnam. In 2017 very few U.S.A. commercial truck ran Sailun tires, as they were only known in Canada. Today anyone that sells Cooper tires usually also sells Sailun tires.
  19. A few years ago I too had black soot on carpeting, ceiling carpet and walls. After investigation, I discovered the back wall and the engine covering had separated, allowing exhaust to enter the living area. Since this MH also has a basement air conditoner, the circulation fan had blown exhaust soot throughout the MH. After patching all leaks into the MH living area I looked deeper and discovered the ISC exhaust manifold was broken into 3 pieces and leaking at 3 of the exhaust ports on the head. FWIW, the ISC early years exhaust manifold is a well-known problem. Since it supports the entire weight of the turbo-charger and associated piping, it is prone to crack or break. The Cummins replacement is much heavier and eliminates the cracking , breaking problem. The leaking exhaust manifold+ fuel leaks is the leading causes of DP engine fires. The total cost to repair the leaks(me) into the living area and replace the broken manifold( HDT repair shop) with a new Cummins part was $3,000.
  20. Jim doesn't one of our members have a bus conversion? I remember a conversation about the 24VDC part. Here is the online bus conversion magazine. https://www.busconversionmagazine.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=ql5ttiaen34fq7lgrcf613tqne&board=1.0
  21. Cummins Engine location pdf However, if your engine is the ISB 6.7L engine, it is not shown. When you do not supply the needed information, we can only guess. wildbill, there are no videos of a Cummings engine.
  22. Do you have more that 2 slide rooms? This will help identify your model of HWH leveling system and room extension. Once we know the HWH model #, and the make/model of your MH, we can proceed.

    F150 tires

DO NOT buy or use "P" (passenger car) rated tires on your pickup, buy "LT" (light truck) tires. "P" rated tires have soft flexible sidewalls for rider comfort, but are a poor choice for towing a trailer or hauling a load.
