  1. We received the September digital copy of Family Motor Coaching today. The ballot and documentation of the proposed changes related to accepting recreational vehicles is well documented. I found when I printed the ballot, it is dim due to the light blue color, but still readable.
  2. Thrush: If you receive the settings, please post them here for other members that may have need of them in the future. Thanks.
  3. Phoenix Paint just north of Elkhart, IN in Michigan has done great work for us at lower cost that the paint shops in Bremen. Big Stuff Body and Paint Works, west of Mount Summit, IN, 765-836-5544. They got started doing big rig trucks, but a lot of their business is now motor homes. Last time I was there they had 2 class C's and 3 Class A's being repaired.
  4. The short answer is no it would cease to exist. I don't know of any not for profit organization that does not have paid employees to keep the volunteers on track. Some of those that I can think of that do have paid employees are Boy and Girl Souts of America, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Churches of most denominations, and I am sure that there are many more that other members know; but that is enough to prove the point.
  5. Family Motor Coaching is the profit corporation. The magazine, Conventions and I think the store fall in this side of the organization. Family Motor Coach Association is the not for profit parent corporation. In order to be not for profit they must meet certain requirements that is why there are educational seminars, etc. The members of the Executive Board are the members of both organizations and have separate meetings.
  6. I do not have a "B", but I have helped several of our chapter members move from an "A" to a "B". Their primary reason for the move was to get a smaller more manageable coach as the still like the lifestyle, but cannot handle the cost of an "A" and are not traveling enough to warrant the cost. I do read the posts on the "B" Forum, but many times I do not have the experience to answer the post.
  7. In 1997 we bought a 1992. In 2001 we traded it in on a 1999. In 2008 we traded the 1999 in on a 2006 which we still have. This 2006 has 91k miles and the other two were above 135 k miles.
  8. I think the staff said yes to being in the digital copy. You will need to print it, fill it out and mail to the firm that counts the mail ballots.
  9. Thank you closing the loop by letting us know that your question was answered.
  10. If the alternator does not see battery voltage, it will go to maximum charge rate at 16 volts. Might look for a broken wire or one not connected. Had the same thing happen on my Chev Equinox when the positive post on the fuse box overheated and caused the sense wire to be disconnected.
  11. Not much difference. The factory rep for tires I wanted to buy, recommended that I jump two letters to be safe from G to J. I don't think they made I.
  12. It is connected to the LPG detector. Ours is located near the floor in the kitchen. If that alarm sounds, the valve will close. If the batteries get low, the alarm may chirp which is probably due to the batteries not being charged or maintained. You may have a switch near the LPG fill location that can close that valve, also.
  13. I am interested in why you think so. The information may help others that are undecided.
  14. In the early years of FMCA, towable RVs could join as Associate Members. Doing so allowed young adult family members the ability to be in a chapter and socializie with friends that the knew as the grew up with their parents that were FMCA members. Today, associate members can only be those that were family members that had owned a motor home. An associate member today has all the rights and privileges as a family member except they can not hold an office (national, area or chapter) or vote. Technically, they could attend conventions, area rallies and chapters. I would like my children or grandchildren be able to join FMCA as associate members as they once for us to be able to socialize as a family in this organization. But today that is not the issue to be voted upon. The issue is should FMCA allow all RVs to join.
  15. Typically nay sayers are the individuals that post about issues, but hopefully posters here will post about the positives on both sides of this issue. We have heard a lot of negatives. I for one still have not made up my mind. There is still about 3 months before our ballot needs to be sent in.
  16. Before we leave the issue of Associate Membership, Carl have you called FMCA and talked to Membership Services? If not explain your issue with dates to see if it can be resolved.
  17. Hopefully, the articles in FMC that goes along with the ballots will be clear to the membership.
  18. Herman is correct about Associate membership. Also the term I used was towable RV, not toads, towable dingies, etc. The article referred to by jleamont is not the norm that MotorCoach and Recreational Vehicle owners would use. Not everything in print is correct.
  19. I don't think that a towed auto is a towable RV; therefore no confusion should occur.
  20. Topic Started! Note: I just edited this first post to change the title from "voting in the future" to vote NOW. Ballots are in FMCA magazine (September 2017 issue as well as next months magazine) OR Available on the FMCA website. FMCA is YOUR organization. Please VOTE for what you feel is in FMCA's best interest. Brett/Moderator
  21. We had a lot of rain. I want to thank every member of the parking crew. Also the FMCA Staff did everything possible to make this convention great. Thank you all.
  22. The buildings FMCA will use at the Indiana State Fairgrounds are air conditioned. The Coliseum was refurbished last year to improve seating and sound. If you have any questions about the Fairgrounds or the area, please ask or send a Personal Message to me. Safe travels to all on your way to Indianapolis.
  23. There are sources of batteries, tools & instructions for an end user to change their own iPhone batteries. I have not done it. When battery time gets shorter each day, I have found that letting the phones battery discharge as low as possible and then fully charge. I then unplug and immediately charge again. The battery seems to have it's life restored.
  24. Chris Smith replied on another post that Seven Corners has found two professional transport companies that will return your greater than 10 year old coach.
