FMCA's retention is better than similar organizations.

Weigh all four corners and use the manufacturers recommended pressure from their tire charts, but add 5 to 7 pounds for safety.

Charlie Adcock announced at least twice that I remember that the membership was 72,000 plus. Don't remember the exact figure. But it was closer to 73k than 72k.

After going through all the forum categories I want to read, I go all the way back to the top and select the 3 bars. From the drop down I select Mark Forum Read. I get a circle with a statement Loading which does not end and the various topics still show unread.

RV Satellite Service Recommendation
rossboyer replied to Dotson1813's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
There are two service providers, Dish & DirecTV. We have had DIRECTV since we purchased our first motor home in 1997. No problems with service, but our dish antenna and receiver are obsolete. A new receiver isn't a problem, but the dish is about $2000. We do have ABC, CBS & NBC FEEDS from New York and LA which is nice as we travel across the country. Local channels over the air are better definition, but not always available. -
The recruiting plan you suggested is in place with dealers, but very few (Lazy Days is exception) take advantage of using it. Most want to close the deal not realizing the potential of return buyers because they have gotten involved with FMCA.

Why One Place For A Whole Season?
rossboyer replied to wildebill308's question in Destinations/Attractions
We winter at Happy Trails RV Resort in Surprise, AZ. I like to make furniture and the woodworking shop is great there. My wife is a quilter and the quilt club there is great, too. There are 75 other clubs that offer opportunities. We are interested in some and not others, but there is more to do than we can attend. This is why we stay in one place for the winter. Not for everyone, but that is why we all have the opportunity to make different choices. -
The Naval Air Station is now commercial business park; therefore, not available.

We need to change the bylaws of FMCA to be able to vote electronically. Until then the voting system is what it is.

Some were clingons. Thought that was the decals you mentioned.
-
And other members don't want to drill holes or use some other mounting, so they prefer the decals.

You can order lexan plates from Kiley Mold, a pair for $30. Order form is on page 118 of Septembers Family Motor Coaching.

We received the September digital copy of Family Motor Coaching today. The ballot and documentation of the proposed changes related to accepting recreational vehicles is well documented. I found when I printed the ballot, it is dim due to the light blue color, but still readable.

Thrush: If you receive the settings, please post them here for other members that may have need of them in the future. Thanks.

Phoenix Paint just north of Elkhart, IN in Michigan has done great work for us at lower cost that the paint shops in Bremen. Big Stuff Body and Paint Works, west of Mount Summit, IN, 765-836-5544. They got started doing big rig trucks, but a lot of their business is now motor homes. Last time I was there they had 2 class C's and 3 Class A's being repaired.

The short answer is no it would cease to exist. I don't know of any not for profit organization that does not have paid employees to keep the volunteers on track. Some of those that I can think of that do have paid employees are Boy and Girl Souts of America, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Churches of most denominations, and I am sure that there are many more that other members know; but that is enough to prove the point.

Family Motor Coaching is the profit corporation. The magazine, Conventions and I think the store fall in this side of the organization. Family Motor Coach Association is the not for profit parent corporation. In order to be not for profit they must meet certain requirements that is why there are educational seminars, etc. The members of the Executive Board are the members of both organizations and have separate meetings.

Fuel Economy-- Was This A Primary Consideration?
rossboyer replied to mweiner's topic in Type B Motorhomes
I do not have a "B", but I have helped several of our chapter members move from an "A" to a "B". Their primary reason for the move was to get a smaller more manageable coach as the still like the lifestyle, but cannot handle the cost of an "A" and are not traveling enough to warrant the cost. I do read the posts on the "B" Forum, but many times I do not have the experience to answer the post.- 43 replies

In 1997 we bought a 1992. In 2001 we traded it in on a 1999. In 2008 we traded the 1999 in on a 2006 which we still have. This 2006 has 91k miles and the other two were above 135 k miles.

I think the staff said yes to being in the digital copy. You will need to print it, fill it out and mail to the firm that counts the mail ballots.

Thank you closing the loop by letting us know that your question was answered.

If the alternator does not see battery voltage, it will go to maximum charge rate at 16 volts. Might look for a broken wire or one not connected. Had the same thing happen on my Chev Equinox when the positive post on the fuse box overheated and caused the sense wire to be disconnected.

Not much difference. The factory rep for tires I wanted to buy, recommended that I jump two letters to be safe from G to J. I don't think they made I.
