  1. Try this route: I-69 to Indianapolis I-465 west and then south to I-70 I-70 to I-55 south I-55 to I-275 west around St Louis I-275 to I-44 west I-44 to Kilpatrick Turnpike around Oklahoma City Kilpatrick to I-40 west I-40 to I-17 south I-17 to Phoenix Indianapolis to Phoenix is 1800 miles The Oklahoma turnpike and the Kilpatrick are toll, but going around the toll roads will cost more in fuel than the tolls. I have traveled this route for 15 years
  2. Insignia is an in house Best Buy brand. Each model is made by different companies. Therefore, his particular model would be needed to trace the manufacture.
  3. You don’t need to worry about level. Totally different technology.
  4. Once you get it out, have on hand new window seal gasket. Measure width, add height, multiply by 2 and add 2 feet. You will be surprised how much extra is needed to go around the corners. Be sure weep holes are at the bottom and the butt joint of the new seal is nearly centered at the bottom, also.
  5. Thank you. At least that is a much greater member response than we had on the last vote.
  6. If I remember correctly, the front panel has a 4 wire commiunication cable. The fuse is at the power controller in our bay where the inverter is located. The fuse for the communication is in the other cable the goes to the power controller. There are high current fuses or circuit breakers on the power controller, too. We have never had the high current one blow, but did have the control circuit fuse blow one time. I assume you have the parking brake set, transmission in neutral and the ignition on to do your reset.
  7. Chris, We appreciate your comments to inform us of the facts. Would a weekly tally placed each Friday on the home page on FMCA.com promote and encourage more members to vote? I would like to see yea and nay reported.
  8. Yes. Sky Med has a good plan, but not much different than FMCAssist. FMCAssist is an insurance (Sky Med is not) provided by Seven Corners and underwritten by Lloyd’s of London. Cost of FMCAssist is included in your FMCA dues, so why pay more for another plan since you already have a good one.
  9. I do not remember which ResMed I have and it is in the motor home as a spare. After 5 years I got a Philips that is 12 v dc; therefore, I have the 120 ac power supply and a cigarette lighter male plug and connection directly into the CPAP. In the sticks and bricks I use the 120 v supply and the 12 v dc cord in the motor home.
  10. I wasn’t in favor of the separate towable group. Years ago in FMCA, towables could join as Associate Members. I don’t think we should have gotten away from that concept. My opinion is that family members should own motor homes. Any other RVs or past members that don’t have a motor home or non-rv owners could or should be Associate Members.
  11. You are correct that the ResMed comes with 120v ac to 24 v dc power supply, but you can order a 12 v dc to 24 v dc power supply. I have one of each.
  12. Yes, using the present definition of Associate Member. But if the definition would be changed by the Governing Board, we could accept them.
  13. You probably have a ResMed cpap machine. They have a 12v dc to 24 v dc for the cpap. I suggest you install a standard 12 v dc outlet like those used for cigarette lighters. You will use a little less power since the inverter does have about 10% loss. I found a 12 v dc circuit under our bed that was 20 amp fused, but had less than 1 amp intermittent load.
  14. We have sent in our NO ballot today. I would very much welcome other than motor homes RVs as Associate Members to introduce them to the Family until they have a motor home.
  15. Based on the Indianapolis Governing Board meeting, if the vote approves, the change is immediate and the Bylaws were approved as provisos and they would then be immediate. Therefore, the change could be effective early December.
  16. I disagree with Wild Bill. FMCA is an Association because it is owned by the members. Also, FMCA has offered all the members a secure facility to vote on this issue and counted by a CPA firm.
  17. We have had 7 inches of snow in Van Horn, TX and 11 inches will n Albuquerque, NM and ice in New Mexico as late as Palm Sunday.
  18. Install several weather apps on your cell phone. I have 9. Each one set to a different screen to provide data that another app does not provide. Watch the weather often. We have a 3 channel thermometer. The sensors are installed: 1. Under the front bumper area. 2. In the wet bay. 3 Inside our refrigerator. Our wet bay has an outlet that is powered by the inverter. We have a trouble light with a 100 watt rough service light bulb. It is aimed at the water pump. We do have thermostat inline power control for the light. Comes on at 40 degrees. You do not have to have a thermostat control. I had one from using heat tapes on an old house we once owned. We have had 11 degree weather on trips through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. We have several 1 gallon milk bottles of water filled to allow us to wash hands and flush toilet. The holding tanks might freeze depending on your coach, but if you dump frequently, ice will swell up in center and not damage tank. We do run the LP gas furnace to keep the interior and bays warm. An electric heater will not heat the bays at night. We have run into 7 inches of snow, hail and rain storms during winter travel just be prepared to stay a night or two for weather to clear.
  19. I have had to replace two camera systems on two different motor homes. Installing a new cable was a pain, but doable. If I have to do it again, I will do cable. I don’t want to have outside interference blank out my camera as what happens with my TPMS when a truck passes me.
  20. Make your reservations now. The best go very early.
  21. We frequently travel I-44 from MO to Oklahoma City. We have made the trip so many times that we don't sightsee along the way. We just want to get there. The tolls are less cost than trying to traveling non-toll roads.
  22. But does the Oklahoma Pike Pass work in Texas?
  23. The Southwest pass I purchased from Oklahoma does not include Texas. Texas is to be added, but I don't know when.
  24. I have two transponders: 1 For the northeast area of the country purchased on web from Illinois because they don't have a monthly charge. 2 Southwest also purchased on web from Oklahoma. I got my first one before traveling to West Springfield from Indiana. Thought I would have a lot of tolls, but only less than $3.00 for one bridge. Both require a deposit and automatically recharge your credit card when the minimum level is reached. They work well and tolls are a little less. The convenience is the best benefit.
