  1. We have had 7 inches of snow in Van Horn, TX and 11 inches will n Albuquerque, NM and ice in New Mexico as late as Palm Sunday.
  2. Install several weather apps on your cell phone. I have 9. Each one set to a different screen to provide data that another app does not provide. Watch the weather often. We have a 3 channel thermometer. The sensors are installed: 1. Under the front bumper area. 2. In the wet bay. 3 Inside our refrigerator. Our wet bay has an outlet that is powered by the inverter. We have a trouble light with a 100 watt rough service light bulb. It is aimed at the water pump. We do have thermostat inline power control for the light. Comes on at 40 degrees. You do not have to have a thermostat control. I had one from using heat tapes on an old house we once owned. We have had 11 degree weather on trips through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. We have several 1 gallon milk bottles of water filled to allow us to wash hands and flush toilet. The holding tanks might freeze depending on your coach, but if you dump frequently, ice will swell up in center and not damage tank. We do run the LP gas furnace to keep the interior and bays warm. An electric heater will not heat the bays at night. We have run into 7 inches of snow, hail and rain storms during winter travel just be prepared to stay a night or two for weather to clear.
  3. I have had to replace two camera systems on two different motor homes. Installing a new cable was a pain, but doable. If I have to do it again, I will do cable. I don’t want to have outside interference blank out my camera as what happens with my TPMS when a truck passes me.
  4. Make your reservations now. The best go very early.
  5. We frequently travel I-44 from MO to Oklahoma City. We have made the trip so many times that we don't sightsee along the way. We just want to get there. The tolls are less cost than trying to traveling non-toll roads.
  6. But does the Oklahoma Pike Pass work in Texas?
  7. The Southwest pass I purchased from Oklahoma does not include Texas. Texas is to be added, but I don't know when.
  8. I have two transponders: 1 For the northeast area of the country purchased on web from Illinois because they don't have a monthly charge. 2 Southwest also purchased on web from Oklahoma. I got my first one before traveling to West Springfield from Indiana. Thought I would have a lot of tolls, but only less than $3.00 for one bridge. Both require a deposit and automatically recharge your credit card when the minimum level is reached. They work well and tolls are a little less. The convenience is the best benefit.
  9. FMCA's retention is better than similar organizations.
  10. Weigh all four corners and use the manufacturers recommended pressure from their tire charts, but add 5 to 7 pounds for safety.
  11. Charlie Adcock announced at least twice that I remember that the membership was 72,000 plus. Don't remember the exact figure. But it was closer to 73k than 72k.

    Problem

After going through all the forum categories I want to read, I go all the way back to the top and select the 3 bars. From the drop down I select Mark Forum Read. I get a circle with a statement Loading which does not end and the various topics still show unread.
  13. There are two service providers, Dish & DirecTV. We have had DIRECTV since we purchased our first motor home in 1997. No problems with service, but our dish antenna and receiver are obsolete. A new receiver isn't a problem, but the dish is about $2000. We do have ABC, CBS & NBC FEEDS from New York and LA which is nice as we travel across the country. Local channels over the air are better definition, but not always available.
  14. The recruiting plan you suggested is in place with dealers, but very few (Lazy Days is exception) take advantage of using it. Most want to close the deal not realizing the potential of return buyers because they have gotten involved with FMCA.
  15. We winter at Happy Trails RV Resort in Surprise, AZ. I like to make furniture and the woodworking shop is great there. My wife is a quilter and the quilt club there is great, too. There are 75 other clubs that offer opportunities. We are interested in some and not others, but there is more to do than we can attend. This is why we stay in one place for the winter. Not for everyone, but that is why we all have the opportunity to make different choices.
  16. The Naval Air Station is now commercial business park; therefore, not available.
  17. We need to change the bylaws of FMCA to be able to vote electronically. Until then the voting system is what it is.
  18. Some were clingons. Thought that was the decals you mentioned.
  19. And other members don't want to drill holes or use some other mounting, so they prefer the decals.
  20. You can order lexan plates from Kiley Mold, a pair for $30. Order form is on page 118 of Septembers Family Motor Coaching.
  21. We received the September digital copy of Family Motor Coaching today. The ballot and documentation of the proposed changes related to accepting recreational vehicles is well documented. I found when I printed the ballot, it is dim due to the light blue color, but still readable.
  22. Thrush: If you receive the settings, please post them here for other members that may have need of them in the future. Thanks.
