  1. We have used our data plan on our cellphones as our only internet connection for our laptops (30 gb/mo), but I don’t think I would stream tv shows. Even wifi at most campgrounds would not support streaming well enough.
  2. VAS is the parent provider and supports many different organizations. At one time I believe they did Coachnet and Good Sam. I have signed up for three years. I am sure someone will not be satisfied, but neather have all been pleased with Good Sam, Coachnet and all the others

    FMCA Plates

Probably need to check with FMCA to get suppliers information.
  4. Installing a 12 outlet for your 12 vdc to 24 vdc resmed power brick is fairly easy. Just be sure the center contact is positive. Using this connection is much more efficient than using an inverter.
  5. Relatively common problem with low cost LED fixtures, particularly if they are on a dimmer. You can go on line a search for add on filters. I added one on a friends rv about 4 years ago, but I don’t remember what it was called or where to get it other than I ordered via Amazon.
  6. Gillette July 18-22, 2018. Probably Chandler for FMCA Convention March 2019. Don’t know when INTO Area rally will be or where.
  7. First I suggest you weigh all four corners. Based on the highest weight corner for each axel, while cold, set pressure to what the tire manufacturer recommends plus 5 to 10 pounds but not over the max shown on side wall. You should be OK then. Mine are set to 107 pounds for all four corners. I then see 120 to 124 pounds after the tires get warm. Do not let out any air. If you do, you will be under inflated.
  8. OK. I went out to the Good Sam site and the benefits are similar with a few differences. If you are not a new member and you want a plan for a couple the cost is about $90/year or $20 more per year than the FMCA benefit. They do offer the plan for less if you are a new member. For what is worth, I just renewed FMCA’s for 3 years.
  9. I think there is confusion between FMCAssist which is repatriation insurance included in your dues and FMCA Roadside Assistance (The name has changed to FMCA Rescue) which is for breakdown services for your RV and has a separate charge of $69/year if you sign up for three years.
  10. 2006 coach purchased in 2008. We have put on 90,000 miles or average of 9,000 per year.
  11. I must be older than you. I remember Bon Ami when it was a cake that you put on a few drops of water and the used a small sponge or rag to use it. Don’t ever remember a spray can.
  12. The motors for my slide outs are centered on the width of the slide out. The motor is mounted to drive a shaft with a rack and pinion on each end of the shaft if that is the type of mechanism you have. One end of that shaft is like a hex nut that can be turned manually with a socket wrench. As I remember the motor is less than 4” in diameter and about 8-9” long, so it could be hidden in the toe kick under a cabinet or accessible under a plate in the ceiling of the bin below the slide. I had to have one replaced. I was asked did I want the same motor or the newer more powerful one? Go figure they didn’t know there was a problem of underpowered drive motors.
  13. Also in the electrical bay, on the very back wall of the bay, there may be a circuit board. If you find the board there is a 20 amp(I think) fuse. The fuse is not shown on the RV diagrams because it is part of the board.
  14. I don’t believe those are the reasons. I have had our coach weighed br RVIA and was weighed in less than 10 minutes wait time and blocking of traffic.
  15. RVIA stated they didn’t have enough teams to do all the requested sites.
  16. Low rate and backed by a company that has been in the Roadside Assistance business for a long time.
  17. Actually, I found that they are square drive. The other set of four points is square also. Having them offset from the other allows assembly to be faster going down the line. Their driver bits will register faster.
  18. All vehicles that you list on the application are covered under the one yearly fee. I don’t remember how many vehicles besides the RV can be listed.
  19. Using Hwy 32 from the southeast is still the better route. Some of the Executive Board have 45 foot motor homes and tow an auto. Shouldn't be a problem, just take the turn off Hwy 32 on to Roundbottom slowly.
  20. Hi Herman. We winter in Arizona; therefore, no Perry. It is 2,000 miles and 1 1/2 months too early for us to return to Indiana. We had a good but very quiet Christmas. We should be at Gillette. Hope to see all there. Ross
  21. Welcome. Visit the forum often. There is a wealth of information and knowledge.
  22. Several years ago this concept was proposed. It was titled “The Bar” that had as I remember 10 reps from each of the ten areas plus the Executive Board. So the Governing Board would have about 75 members. That is a manageable number. How many Board of Directors of companies do you know that have greater than 400 members. The problem with having a representative for every 300 members would still be a Governing Board of about 250 members. Also, without correction for geographic concentration, the coasts would control the organization. I would be against this change. Keep in mind any change such as this would have the be passed by the current Governing Board structure.
  23. It depends. If we knew your make, model and year of your RV, more factual information could be provided. But you chassis batteries are charged while driving and usually the coach batteries are also. My motor home charges the chassis batteries until charged and switches to the coach batteries. When plugged in or on generator, the chassis batteries are charged and then switches to the coach batteries. The problem on my motor home is that as the chassis batteries discharge, the land line or generator charge does not switch back to the chassis batteries to top them off. There are devices to utilize a portion of the current used to charge the coach batteries to charge the chassis batteries. Your RV may not have one of those devices or it may automatically switch back to top off the chassis batteries.
