  1. I have used Delorme since the first release of Street Atlas. There is a learning curve as there is any software, but it does allow you to plan your complete trip. When making plans for a trip where I need to cross the country, I put in overnight stops, fuel stops, preferred routes to see a site that I want to see, etc.
  2. I would turn off all breakers then plug in to see if you trip your house GFI. If you do, there is a problem with the main line to your coach, possibly a grounded wire or a shorted neutral and ground. If not, turn on main breaker. Your GFI sould not trip. Now one by one turn on one of the single breakers and check each time to see if you trip your GFI until you find the one that trips your GFI. Hopefully, you are familular with using a meter and testing procedures, because once you find which breaker causes your GFI to trip, you will need to trace that circuit to find the problem. This will be the hard task. One of my circuits has 19 outlets and 3 juction boxes and just getting to the wire and boxes is not easy, under the bed, behind cabinets, under other cabinets, behind trim and false panels, etc. Please keep us posted on your progress.
  3. There is one in Anderson, IN just west of HH Gregg on 53rd street. I do not know the name.
  4. Lebanon, Forest Manor Motel & RV Park, $29.90/Passport rate $14.95. Marshfield, RVEXPRESS, Easy Access, all paved lot at motel w/full hook ups, $30. Strafford, RV PARK STRAFFORD, crushed stone lot - nothing fancy, had full hook ups, $20. We did not find a Walmart that we would stay the night.
  5. It would be a good idea to add a disconnect before the outlet. You can use one like those used for a hot tub or airconditioner. By using this to "turn off" your circuit at the outlet, you would not be plugging in or unplugging hot which will eliminate arcing and pitting of your motor home plug.

I suggest that you send your questions to John Reynolds, National VP - Eastern Area, at jreynolds@fmca.com.
  7. Probably the task is simply installing another switch in parallel with one of the other switches. Installing a switch in the wall may be harder than mounting one in the vanity cabinet face. The hard part is routing the wire between the two switches. If I remember correctly, the wire will be 4 conductors: ON, Off, Common & Light. You may find an identical switch at a RV Salvage or from the manufacturer of the coach.
  8. We have DirecTV with ABC, CBS & NBC from New York and LA. Your TV may not be able to receive over the air digital signals. There are converters, but replacing the TV is much better. We have Toshiba TVs. The dish receiver cable connects directly to the TV as does over the over the air antenna. We can select the input by a menu option. The quality of over the air reception is better than DirecTV or Cable provided you are within a radius of about 35/40 miles of the broadcasting stations.
  9. It is very doubtful that you will use a full 50 amps on each leg of the circuit; therefore, three #6 wres with a #8 ground will work very well. My 50 amp outlet is wired with #10, but the circuit breaker is 30 amp in the main panel of the house. I could never run 50 amps on either leg, but I am able to run all my appliances and both air conditioners without any problems of over heating or voltage drop. Actual maximum current I have had is 24 amps on one leg and 18 on the other. In your application, you will be safe, and the breaker will protect your wiring.

  11. The rally you are commented about was the Eastern Area Rally just one of 10 areas of Family Motor Coach Association. Most area rallys open on Wednesday and close Sunday morning; therefore, the coach and vendor areas would be open Thurdays - Saturday. We arrived on Monday afternoon and stayed through Sunday morning leaving about noon. The areas operate on a very limited budget. The national conventions have additional resources and computers to make schedules available in advance. We are currently at the Indianapolis Family Reunion (Convention). We volunteer and have been very busy for the past 8 days. Yesterday (Monday) the coach displays opened at 5:00 pm and the indoor vendors opened today (Tuesday). Both will be open through Thursday.
  12. Suggest that you go talk to a reliable concrete supplier. Most have a technical person that will assist you. I used 5,000 # concrete reinforced with fiber glass fibers and crosshatched with reinforcing wire, 8 inches thick under axle area and jacks and 6 inches thick elsewhere.
  13. We have towed A Chevrolet Equinox, 2 wheel drive (4 wheel drive will tow too), pull one fuse (installed a switch to eliminate pulling the fuse) about 20,000 miles without any problems. I can even put my small Cricket golf cart inside while towing. But you need to be satisfied with what you want to tow.
  14. What is new or different about the new sensors you are testing?
  15. We have stayed several times at the Elkhart Campground. It is on County Rd 4. If you travel east on County Rd 4 the RV/MH Hall of Fame is just north of the I-80 interchange. Elkhart Campground 25608 County Rd 4 Elkhart, IN 46514 Phone : 574-264-2914 Phone : (574) 264-2914 Web : www.elkhartcampground.com Email : elkcampground@yahoo.com Services and Amenities available: Water Electricity Sewer Hookups Dumping Station Showers/Toilets Laundry Facilities Camp Store LP Gas Swimming Pool Pets Allowed 10% off to FMCA Members.
  16. Mine has been in for almost a year, but I do know that infant mortality is common.
  17. Due to the hot weather, my safety module R-010 on our Norcold frig, had a fault led. The R-0101 is not the frig control board. The module is the one added during the most recent recall. I can unplug the 12+ from the module and connect directly to the Norcold and everything works well. Returned to the R-010 and led comes on again and will not allow the frig to work in any mode. Took the coach to an Authorized Norcold Service Center. They kept it a day. When I picked the coach up, no charge. Asked what was wrong and the reply was due to the hot weather, they had to reset the module. Asked how do I reset it and was told that they are not allowed to tell me. Does anyone know how to reset the R-010 module?
  18. You are probably classified as "Family Electric." Just enter on the day indicated in your packet. You will be directed to the proper parking area.
  19. The Great Lakes Area had a few towables in attendance over the Memorial holiday. One of those just bought a motor home and is joining FMCA today. This is why they are allowed to attend national and many area rallys. FMCA already has the classification of Associate Member for those that have owned a qualifying motor home and later become a towable owner. That member may then change their membership to Associate. Based on the FMCA Bylaws the Associate Member has all the rights of a Member except they cannot hold an office or vote. How can an Associate Member be denied attendance? On the other hand, it is up to the Area or Chapter to determine if other towables (non-Associate Members) are welcomed as 'guests'.
  20. We have stayed in several campgrounds in the Rapid City Area. One that we enjoyed is Custer State Park. You can do a search for Custer State Park and look at the campgounds and services that you would need. They even show pictures of each site. Some sites will handle 44-45 feet. There is a nice city campground in Spearfish that is very nice for families or retirees. Usually cooler because it is in a canyon, but no hills or inclines to enter from a city street on the south side of Spearfish. A little drive to Rapid City, but most of the sights to see are west and south of Rapid City. Avoid the Sturgis Rally dates. Most campgrounds in the area will only take reservations for a week or more at that time. Plus there will be 600,000 plus motorcycles on the roads. We have been there at that time and did not have any problems with motorcyclist, just the heavy traffic. Next year the FMCA Family Reunion will be in Gillette, WY, June 19-22, 2013. You may want to wait and combine the trip to do both next year.
  21. I had Brake Buddy that failed and burned both front calipers. Switched to SMI's Air Force One. Works very well. Power used is only for set of LEDs. Easy hook up. Early I had a switch fail. Emailed SMI and received replacement in 2 days. Switch just turns on the light and was not critical to braking.
  22. The requirement to use blocks under your jacks to protect the blacktop is usually standard for most rallys that have parking areas on blacktop. Yes, a large number of attendees will be on blacktop. The handicapped parking area is all blacktop. Holding area and Will Call are blacktop. Coach displays are on blacktop or in a building which is airconditioned.
  23. Yes, you are missing that an area cannot hold a rally within 30 days prior to a FMCA Family Renunion per the Policy and Procedures. An exception was requested and denied by the Executive Board. Primary reason is that the Family Renunion is the 50th anniversary. An announcment should be made in about 60 days. Due to many reasons the Michigan Knights of the Highway have declined to host any rally in May 2013.
  24. Many resturants are downtown, or along 82nd street just west of the 82nd st and I-69 interchange. Both areas are about a 20 minute drive. There are more areas within Indianapolis. Best to search via a smart phone application of via your GPS.
  25. Since you have multiple items that apear to be occuring at once, I would look for a loose ground or power connection. We had a loose ground connection on our Fleetwood Expedition that burned 7 different circuit grounds. Ours was the wipers, dash air, and a couple of other items. This connection was a stud that passed through the firewall. The counter bore around the stud was too deep causing the crip connectors to not be held tight by the washer and nut.
