  1. You might want to consider these campgrounds instead of WalMarts. At Exit 1, I-40 in Oklahoma is Double D RV. It is a Passport America campground with full hook ups for $12.00 per night Passport rate, small and quiet. Also, about Exit 114, I-40 in New Mexico is Dancing Eagle Casino that has a campground with full hook ups for $10.00 per night. We have stayed at both several times. It is nice to have hook ups at least every other night. Safe travels to you.
  2. I have dealt with RV Cams 4 times, and I have always been pleased with the information and products that have been supplied by them. I would call them vs. just ordering from their web site. Many time they will know that you need a different or possibly and adapter cable to satisfy you requirements. About the sun glare issue, I don't think any camera can totally eliminate straight sun light. Color is better than black and white only in that you can see smoke or flames should the need arise.
  3. Did you have to add batteries? Or change or add another inverter? If not what make and model of inverter do you have?
  4. Hi Joe: We frequently make the trip from central Indiana to Surprise, AZ traveling through Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. We turn south at Flagstaff, but you will need to turn North there. We like a small campground at Interchange Zero I-40 at the Oklahoma-Texas border, Texola. It is a Passport America campground with 30 amp at $10/night or 50 amp at $12/night, sewer and water included. Campground has about 22 sites, but I have never have seen it full. Also we stop at Dancing Eagle casino about 50 miles west of Albuquerque also on I-40. It has full hookups at $10/night. Stop there early 3 or 4 in the afternoon because it fills early. There are more campgrounds on the way, but we prefer to stop at these two. Depending on where you need to stop, there are several Walmarts on the west side of Oklahoma City through Yukon, OK. The first Walmart on I-40 at Interchange 136 is a little difficult to get into. Go around behind Walmart and enter on the northwest corner. We usually park up near the Texas Roadhouse. There are more good Walmarts at Grants and Gallup, NM. All of these are Super Walmarts that are open 24 hours and have security. Fuel is usually lowest price in Missouri and Oklahoma City. As you go west from Oklahoma City the prices usually increase.
  5. We have a 2006 also. The radio is probably a 2005 Ford model. Mine had a 6 CD player. You should be able to remove the bezel from the front of the radio then there are 2 small holes on each side. Possibly you have a small removal tool. It looks like a two tine fork with no handle. If not, four 3 inch long pieces of #12 solid copper wire may be used. Insert one in each hole. Carefully, probe the holes. You may need to use a pair of pliers to work the wire. When they are in the correct position a spring clip on each side will release the radio, and it may be pulled out the front. Check the wire plugs on the back to be sure that none have come loose. I had to replace my radio earlier this year because the CD player failed. I was able to get a replacement at Fry's Electronics. The new radio has bluetooth, but only a single CD player. I was able to add an XM tuner. You should have an antenna for XM prewired. The connector is under the dash on the driver's side.
  6. Most auto supply stores will have a generic replacement motors. They fit inside the housing of your current motor. I got mine at Auto Zone. Take your old one into them to check the vent tube location. The motor then carries a lifetime warranty. You might also check the relays that operate the motor for the high, medium, and low speeds. Replacing the motor is not hard, but getting to it may be. I was able to get into mine from under the dash. On one coach the ground wire broke causing the blower to no longer run.
  7. We usually stay within Rock Mountain National Park at Moraine Campground. Reservations must be made early. Ask for Loop "C". The sites are larger. There are two sites on Loop "A" that are large. They are only a couple of sites from the entrance to the campground. "A" has pit toilets, and "C" has flush toilets. All are sites are dry camping. We can go 5 days on the inverter. Then we run the engine, not the generator, for 2 hours; and we can go for another 4 days on the inverter.
  8. No secrets. Report of the secretary was accepted as presented. The Treasurer's report was read and accepted for file. The President of the youth groups made a report. Acting President made a report and thanked all the FMCA employees that were at Madison. The annual meeting had no old business and no other new business except installation of new officers. Outgoing officers were given a token of appreciation for their service. Drawings for 10 cash awards were held.
  9. I did a search for Samsung Refrigerator, and did not find your earlier post. Please restate the model number. Thank you.
  10. Suggest that you look at this web site: http://www.fixmyblinds.com/Instructions.html The instructions are quite good.
  11. We have stayed in the state park several times. They do have full hookups, but I think electric is 30 amp. They have sites to accommodate all sizes, but they are gravel not pavement. There is a long drive from the entrance to the campground, but the park is very nice. I have seen many deer and turkeys. It is not a KOA, but I stayed for two and half months once and the staff was very nice. Quiet and peaceful. A GPS may show that you can enter on the north end, but that entrance will not handle RV's-- use the south entrance. I have enjoyed my stays and would encourage you to try it.
  12. I have traveled US-36 up the mountains from Longmont to Estes Park and down from Estes Park to Longmont. I suggest that the better route would be US-34 from Estes Park to Loveland. US-34 is the better route with a wider road and more pullouts. Use as low a gear as needed to minimize using your brakes, pullout often, and don't get distracted with the scenery.
  13. I have not owned one, but a friend of ours has had two. They were very satisfied, just decided to change floor plans. I have been through the factory twice with a supplier of side and floor panels. The construction and quality is great. It is a small but very dedicated company. They take care of their customers. Hopefully, you will agree if you do purchase one.
  14. Sorry, I was thinking roadside assistance. I have Camping World extended warranty, use to be Freedom Care. They have paid 4 claims that I have had, but sometimes we have had to have lengthly discussions before they paid.
  15. I suggest that you look at Coach Net and sign up for 3 years. FMCA & Coach Net have a partnership to give you a discount.
  16. Our 2006 Expedition has the same problem to an extent. When closing the valve the last few degrees of turn is extremely hard. Several times I have thought that I would break the handle. I have had the coach for 3 years and have lived in it 6 months a year. So we have used the drain valve often. If I do break it, I will replace it with a large brass ball valve.
  17. I can tell you what I did in our past two coaches. If you will be using the lamps in the same location all the time, they can be permanently mounted. Lowe's and Home Depot have parts for lamps. I bought a long threaded lamp rod. Drilled a hole through the top of the furniture or cabinet and extended the rod through with a lock washer and nut below. The wire will need to be extended out of the rod. I was able to install an additional outlet in the cabinet for the lamp and could use the other half of the outlet to charge my phone. I don't have any pictures, but we have not had any trouble at all with this installation. If you need additional information send me you phone number, and I be will happy to help.
  18. Look to see if you have a valve that enables filling your fresh water tank. If that valve is in the FILL position, the pump can never build pressure.
  19. Just had to call to have our auto towed to repair shop. Call took about 5 minutes. The Coach Net rep called me back in less than 10 minutes stating that the tow truck would be on site within 30 to 45 minutes. The truck picked up our auto in 26 minutes and was on his way to the service shop of my choice. Total time about 41 minutes, not bad. This is the 4th time I have had to use Coach Net, 3 times for auto and once for the coach. All were positive experiences.
  20. I am currently using a Verizon wireless MIFI that will connect 5 wireless devices. While it isn't unlimited, I have never gone over the 5gb per month. I use it a lot for surfing and emails, but do not download movies. When this contract runs out and since I have an iPhone with AT&T service, I plan to add their data service for $20/mo. The iPhone will work the same as my current MYFI. Possibly one of these two solutions will work for you.
  21. We have found that we are watching Direct TV less and less since digital local TV broadcasts, but of course that depends on how close you are to the stations. Picture quality is much better. We are using the new Winegard with a Wingman. The amplifier in the antenna is better that the older units.
  22. Not sure of your location, but if you are near Elkhart, Indiana, both Atwood and HWH have install locations. Sullivan RV in Decatur, Indiana (just south of Fort Wayne), has been a quality repair facility for Fleetwood and other manufacturer's motorhomes. They were able to rebuild one of my Atwood jacks at much less than replacing with a new one. www.sullivanrv.com I have had two coaches with HWH. One was an automatic configuration and the other was a manual joy stick control. Both worked well, but I did have to replace one jack (@122K miles) and two hoses (@32K miles). HWH furnished the hoses, but I had to pay for the jack. Our coach with Atwood jacks has had one jack rebuilt($550) and the control module($512), @54K miles.
  23. I have purchased this insurance, but did not have to file a claim. I did hear that in the first month of offering, a claim was paid for $23,000. But of course, we do not know any details to protect the privacy of the individual.
  24. My local dealer that sells both Goodyear and Michelins states that you should use two load ranges lower than specified using Michelins, because the side walls are not as strong. So if "G" is specified, that would mean to go to "I."
