  1. Bill, I am not the one to chime in on this post. My eyes have crossed several time just reading it. However with regards to having the inverter repaired. I had my inverter checked out by National Indoor Storage in Lewisville, TX and it was found to be in tip top shape. They were able to bench test it and would have repaired it if necessary. I believe they have several locations around the country. What I did find when I pulled mine out was a loose ground. Not disconnected just loose. It was where the Grounds for both the Generator and the Shore Power connected together to the Inverter chassis. When I reinstalled the inverter I made sure all connections were tight and have had no issues since. So you might try National Indoors for assistance if there is one close to you.
  2. Roland, Send me a PM and I will send you the phone number of a friend that had his coach worked on in the Indiana area. He was quite pleased. I have seen the work and it was good. Herman
  3. Siligato1, Welcome to the Forum. My suggestion would be to rent a unit out on the West coast. It may not be your own but a small Class C could be used for visiting as well as camping. Just a thought. Herman
  4. Tracey , In short yep. That is unless they are maintenance free. As for the generator, what is your fuel level and did you put in a fuel conditioner before you stored the coach and was the tank full? Herman

    Tyre Pressures

Keith, You may have a data sheet on the wall next to and below the drivers seat. Check there to see if there is a recommend pressure there. It will be a place to start until you at least have the axles weighed. Most truck stops have scales to do that. Good luck and remember we drive on the right side. Herman
  6. Sounds to me like low battery voltage. Have you checked the fluid levels in your batteries? A long storage without a battery tender can do a job on them. Herman
  7. Great pictures showing what fun can be had at the Conventions. I tried to get them to turn up the amperage on that chair but they wouldn't do it. Now about those two pitiful looking pups. The caption of that picture should be "Feed Me". Herman
  8. Wouldn't there be a conflict if both inverters tried to charge the same batteries at the same time. However in Carl's coach he has two banks of 4 AMG batteries and it appears that they are charged by the two inverters separately. That makes since to me. I don't know how the two are separated in the system. Maybe one is dedicated to the residential refrigerator. He has to keep his beer cold. Herman
  9. She is a really neat lady. Carl is a lucky fellow. Herman & Bobbie
  10. A 10 pound no bounce comes to mind. I came, I watched and I shook my head. I am at Ace Hardware do you want me to pickup a 20 lb sledge? Herman
  11. What a lot of people don't know, that until just a few years ago, was that we were paying a fee for push button service. When push button phones were put in service you were charged a few to allow your phone to use push buttons. If I remember the fee was $.50 or $1.00 per month. Just think of the money the phone companies made during that time. Herman
  12. Carl, What I believe you are seeing is the mold mark where the two sides of the mold came together, On the rest of your comet, correct. Herman

  18. Patrick, First let me advise you to edit your post and remove your phone number. (be safe) If someone wants to contact you they can send you a PM (personal message) Now. it appears you are doing your due diligence and checking everything out. You could have the engine oil, transmission fluid and the coolant tested. These test can tell you a lot about your unit. Monaco is a great coach from that period. Good luck and I hope it turns out for the best Herman

  21. Penneking, Welcome to the Forum. Put a cushion in your seat to see how much you might need to make the arm rest comfortable. You could have your seat rebuilt. I am 6'2" and Carl is 6'7" he might also have a suggestion. Herman
  22. Yes Don that's the place. It's the best place for all of our old members that live in the DFW area that no longer have RVs. It will give them the opportunity to come for the luncheon and still drive home before dark. As much as I love the DFW area there aren't any places to have a rally as good as Chotaw KOA in Durant. You are welcomed to come. Herman
  23. Bill Been there, Done that and got the Tee Shirt. Herman
