  1. Jim, Spent 40 years in the welding industry. There are many manufacturers of cable. If you need cable go to your local welding supply store. Ask for cable with as many strands as you can get. The more strands the more flexible. The fewer the stiffer. You can buy what you need by the foot. Herman

    FMCA Plates

Having been in purchasing and inventory control there are problems of over stocking. That being said, if Dennis could run plates for his inventory. The set up for each set of plates involves changing one number, sometimes 2. It would be cost effective to start the machine up once and run multiples rather then starting it up for one. Order in and out same day. Herman
  3. Good thoughts, I wonder why my golf cart batteries are wired with no. 6 wire? Herman
  4. Reworking my Battery Cables. New cable and lugs. Do you really need 3/0 welding cable? They use it on my coach and I wonder why. They use 3/0 welding cable and connect it to a 5/16 inch stud on the battery. This size and weight of cable makes it very hard to move the battery tray in and out. Any comments or thoughts? Herman
  5. Beautiful picture. How long was it before you were able to leave? Herman
  6. Ray, The next time you decide that you might sell the coach, "Don't tell it". I think you may have hurt it's feelings and it is just getting even with you. Herman
  7. Keon, Your coaches previous owner was a bit sadistic. His thought was,"these rope lights are too tangled to mess with. Lets just leave them in the coach and the next owner will think they are a Modern Art Sculpture." Some folks like to light up the bottom of their coaches when parked. I am too lazy to completely decorate my coach when parked for a few days. Besides it makes unhooking a lot harder especially if it is raining. But what the hey, now Michelle has some more light for you to put up and take down at Christmas. Herman
  8. I took our Samsung RF-18 through the door of our Dynasty. But let me clarify that. I had cut back the TV cabinet in the past and that gave an additional 7". I removed the passenger seat. Then I removed the RF-18s doors and hindges. Then I got a case of Miller Lite and got my 3 sons to do the grunt work. Grunt work first ML second. Herman
  9. Bredan, Welcome to the Forum. Are you and your friends FMCA members? If so have you'll found a Chapter yet? Your coach is part of your family and it looks like she is in good health. Herman
  10. Blake, Just checked my RF 18. It measure 69 3/8 inches. Sorry, still too tall. Check Lowe's and see if they have a RF 16. Not sure if Samsung makes a 16 c.f. unit. Herman
  11. Knowing some of the shops his appointment my not be until August 15th at the earliest. Herman
  12. Vince, Just to add my two cents here. As you are aware of cracking can be deceiving. When examining tires not only look at the side walls but between the treads. The side wall can look as if they are fresh out of the dealer but have significant cracking between the treads. Herman
  13. I agree with DD69, Packing nut. Had same problem with portable tank, which had to be inspected. Valve was leaking. Was told it would cost $30.00 for the valve plus $15.00 to install plus filling. I went home tightened the packing nut, soap tested the valve myself, took it to the dealer several weeks later and had it tested and filled. He asked me if it had been tested before, I said "beats the h*** out of me". Tank passed and was filled. Herman
  14. Manual or automatic, 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive? Herman
  15. In fishing boats you have two types of batteries. Start battery and trolling motor batteries. The start battery has higher cold cranking amps. The trolling motor battery is a deep cycle battery like the deep cycle golf cart batteries. Some of the newer golf carts are coming with 3 or 4 12volt deep cycle batteries depending on if you need 36 or 48 volts. Herman
  16. Tracey, A new campground is where you can have the most issues with electrical panels. One crossed wire, like a hot to neutral, came cause havoc with you system. Electrician are good but not infallible. I made a simple tester I always use. It has a 50 amp male plug on a short cable with a four plex box on the other end. I have two of the small continuity testers and two small volt meters. It is small and easy to use. Costs me less than $20.00. Herman
  17. Lets see what happens, I sent a PM to the OP and asked if he solved his problem. If I get a response I will let you kno. "Inquiring Minds Want To Know" Herman
  18. 1) Wishful thinking 3,000 but 1,000 to 1,500 coaches should be more realistic. 2) That would be up to you. There are lots of trams and most of us will pick you up unless you look too suspicious? 3 & 5) All that information will be in your packet. 4) There should be a number of location for food. 6) Again that woul be your choise. There are areas full generators and 7 to 11 generator. One thing I didn't mention is to arrive with a full water tank and EMPTY holding tanks. This is very important. Extra power cord and water hose helps. Herman
  19. Was asked by someone about what to expect when going to a National Rally for the first time. First congratulation for coming. After you have registered, you will receive a packet full of information. Be sure to register early so you can receive your packet early. It can be held for arrival in the will call area but you will be in the dark till then. In your packet will be several items. There will be instructions and directions into the venue. Please follow the directions so you will be in the right place at the right time. There will also be Window Placards. There will be one showing what kind of Hook Up you have. One showing that you are a First Timer. "Please place these in your front window in the lower left hand corner (drivers side) so the folks in Staging know where you go" There will be a LOCATOR CARD for you to fill out and it must be turned in at the Information Booth. There will be badge and a badge holder for each registered person in the coach. Badges must be worn at all times for entrance to everything, Vendors, Seminars, Entertainment and so forth. Upon arrival you will be greeted by a parking person in the area known as The Staging Area. At this point you will be instructed to unhook your tow vehicle. (if you are alone or do not have someone to drive your vehicle you may unhook when you arrive at your parking site. From the Staging Area you will be guided by a Follow Me golf cart to your parking site. (Please be patient some time it is a slow winding drive.) When you arrive at your site you will be turned over to several folks called Parker's. These folks will guide and direct you into your site. After you are parked and hooked up you may begin your adventure. In most cases there will not be adequate parking for autos near the buildings. Trams will be running through your area quit often and can get you to where you want to go. After you are set up you may go to the Information Booth where you will pick up your Goody Bag. Remember your locator card. You need it to get your Goody Bag. Inside the Goody Bag is a plethora of information and goodies. Program book and a map of the area showing all the locations for Seminars, Vendors, Show Coaches, places to eat and where the Entertainment will be. If you have any questions or need directions don't hesitate to ask one of the people with "VOLUNTEER" on their badge. Now again Welcome to your first FMCA Family Reunion aka RALLY. Your are about to meet your New Extended Family. Note: In case of an emergency please call 911. Give the dispatcher your location. Remember the information you put on the Locator Card. And if at all possible turn on your flasher on your coach. This will help the first responder's locate you faster. Herman PS: Since you are seeing this on the FMCA Forum don't forget the Forum Meet and Greet get together. Wednesday March the 8th in Seminar Room 2 at 4:45 PM to 5:45 PM. Put a face to the names. Herman
  20. Interpreted to mean 2 1/2 Gallons Black Jack and 2 1/2 Gallon Chablis.... Herman
  21. Missed the "on or off" commit. It could just be a stuck relay. hvarner, you might try and disconnect your batteries negative cable for about a minute and then reattach it. See if that might reboot the system and stop the buzzing. Herman
  22. hvarner, How is the water level in your overflow tank? Herman
  23. Just to add to what Carl just posted, they are have a driving school that is great for the persons looking to learn or improve their driving skills. Give the office a call in Cincinnati. 513-474-3622 Also if you come to the Rally, March 7th to the 10th, in Chandler, AZ at the Rawhide Western Town and Event Center you will get to meet some REALLY NICE, HANDSOME MEN, BEAUTIFUL LADIES, and oh yes, Manholt, Wildebill, Brett, and my self. Life can't get any better than that. The many seminar, show coaches, vendors and entertainment ain't too shabby either. Herman
