  1. Good savings on the program. The rims were just a thought. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. Herman
  2. Carl, I know it is said that a Heat Pump will operate down to around 34 degrees. However one December we were in Burleson, Texas for a Christmas Rally and had both Ice and Snow. Our Aqua Hot was not working (hot water included). Our Heat pump worked down to 28 degrees. I know it was not suppose to but we were grateful it did. Afterwards I had the electric element in the AH replaced and we had hot water however the shop could not fix the AH its self. Lloyd DeGerald Repaired it in Madison. Photo Cell. Before I forget it, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EACH AND EVERYONE!!!!! Herman
  3. Congratulations Carl, I didn't know you were dating now. Herman
  4. Five, I understand the use of the plug, but wouldn't it been just a simple to wire the preheat to a switch so all you had to do would be to flip the switch to turn on the preheat? But heck we are talking about Motor Home Manufacturers where simple and practical never cross their drawing boards. Carl, You may have a point on your jacks. However we have only air leveling on our coach, which is nice, however I would like to have jacks also. Not to level but just to have the ability to steady the coach when level. Just air alone leaves you with a bit of "Rock & Roll". Herman
  5. Carl, Could you take a picture of the GFCI and where you found it. It may help some folks, me included in the future. Thanks, Herman
  6. Aren't we glad that Heart Surgeon don't feel the same way. Herman
  7. Great, Welcome to the Forum. Are you members of FMCA? If not now is a new time to join a family that has no borders. If Chandler Arizona is too far to go in March of 2107 we will be in Indianapolis Indiana in July of 2017. Come to one or both. Herman
  8. Lyle, Most likely you may access under your kitchen slide by removing the bottom of your kitchen cabinet. You may have to search for the screws holding it down. Mine are in the carpet. Herman
  9. Sounds to me like a baffle is loose. Not that unusual for a muffler but I'm not sure about a catalytic converter. Might be a bit costly but not the end of the world. Herman
  10. I have to reply with a story. Many years ago in times of ole, I was working in a garage doing inspections. I had a 1963 Chevrolet with a parking light out. When I removed the lens (yes back then you could just replace the bulb) to change the bulbs I found a key. So being the inquisitive young man I was, I removed the other lens I found a 1 dollar bill. When I asked the customer about it, he said if locked out or low on gas, he was covered. Yes back then a buck would get you 5 gallons of gas. Herman
  11. It's a conspiracy between Dish & Direct and Winegard. They got together and Winegard said, "If you two will make just a small change in you transmission causing RVer's to have to change dishes then we can sell more and will make small donations to your vast companies." STAND up fellow RVer's to these evil companies, stop watching TV. Show then we can live without them. Go out camping, build bonfires, go hiking with the family, visit friends, that will show them we can without them. (of course this doesn't apply to watching new episodes NCIS) Herman
  12. Charlie, Welcome to the Forum. Check with different RV Salvage Lots. There a number around the country. Google RV Salvage and you may find several in your area. Best In our area is in Carthage, Mo. "Colaws RV Salvage". Good luck on your hunt. Herman
  13. Not sure of brands, have ours done at FMCA National Rally. Small cost to have top cleaned and sealed plus having the coach washed and wheels shined. Less labor for me and I don't have to get on the roof. Herman
  14. rp, A good cleaning and sealant is OK. Waxing is not. Cleaning and sealing will reduce the residue that can run down the sides of your coach. (Won't stop it completely but will help). Waxing will be slick and dangerous when you have to be on top. Herman
  15. There in lies a problem. Using a Japanese Computer made in on Japan and not using a American computer made in China, Malaysia, India and or 27 different countries. Herman
  16. Joe, do you have a preference of one additive over the another? Herman
  17. Bill, it seems that you are not familiar with the agreement the Rio Grand Valley has with their winter Texans. "If they come for the winter and maintain their property for that period of time, the RGV won't let the grass grow or yard maintenance get out of hand." The one caveat is, is that they have to return each winter." Sounds like a win, win for both sides. Herman
  18. Bill 1, I also travel with the traffic when possible. When driving at 62 to 63 mph, I might get 7.0 to 7.2 mpg. At 72 to 75 mph I will get approx. 6.8 to 6.9. I am not always in a hurry but feel like I shouldn't impede traffic by going 10 mph slower. Bill 2, When I was on the road for my work, I to would travel 400 to 600 miles in a day. Now after 250 miles we are looking for a Wally world or park to crash. Also we have started to explore more now. When we find an interesting area, we find a RV Park and spend 2 nights. We will stay for a night, explore the area, and spend another night before starting, out fresh, to our next adventure. Bill 1 I hope you are able to travel for leisure before too long. Herman
  19. Red, Also Welcome to the Forum. Give James Stallings a call. He is a nationally rated shooter. James Stallings (Owner) Xtreme Paint and Graphics 936-560-5888 Herman
  20. 08, Welcome to the Forum. The two items that come to mind for me are, alignment and or tow bar height. Alignment is important when towing or not. If the tow bar is not within 2" up or down to the tow vehicle there can have issues. If the tow bar is pulling up too much it will make the vehicle lighter on the front end which can allow changes in the front end geometry. Herman
  21. Lots of great suggestions. Bill did you get the windshield taken care of? Herman
  22. South would be my choice. Sorry about that. You have so many choices. Memphis and Graceland, the Natchez Trace in Mississippi. New Orleans, Mobile and the USS Mobile Battleship, Atlanta and Stone Mountain. There are so many places to choose from. FMCA has a trip planning service, you may want to check there. Happy travels. Herman
  23. bt, Give Aqua Hot a call tomorrow and they will direct you to one of their authorized service tech. 303-651-5531 Herman
  24. chl, Welcome to the Forum. It will help you to purchase a battery charger. It can help you keep your batteries up til you can determine what you have dragging down your batteries. Be sure you get a smart charger that will be able to charge your batteries and the just maintain them. I carry one all the time just as a precaution. Herman
