  1. Rich, There are too many valve in there to understand which one does what. It might help if we could see pictures with everything removed from the bay. I see one valve that looks as if it comes from the valve to a Tee and to the pump. Wish I could get my head in for a closer look. I will bet it a simple fix, a nightmare , but simple. Herman
  2. My DW will look at the map and say, Take the Blue road to the left and go up one inch to the Red road. Nuf Said. Herman
  3. Joe that is a story that has to accompanied by Carl's Wine and Cheese. Herman
  4. Should have said "Been There, Done That and Got The Tee Shirt" Herman
  5. Erniee, Carl notices what he knows best?. Herman
  6. From looking at the picture the valve handle is in the closed position. And it must be turned to the left to the horizontal position in order to fill the tank. It has to be something simple and you are sure to find it. To be on the safe side, I put a plug in my holding tank flush inlet and a quick disconect on my water tank and fill hose. This is to insure I don't make a mistake. Please don't ask how I know this .? Herman
  7. Carl, I just noticed your comment about down loading pictures from your phone to your computer. The most simple way I have found is to email the picture to myself from my phone. Then open the email on my computer and save the picture. Have done this many times without a problem. Herman
  8. White Eagle I made my own tester like in your picture. I keep it in the power bay and always use at each and every place we patk. I also made one for 30 amp. And have used it many times at Six-State when someone says that their power is off. Herman
  9. I know of people that fill their water tank by hooking up the water hose turn on the water and wait for it to come out the overflow. They think doing that is the only way to completely fill their tank. Later they wonder if they have a leak because they are down at least a third. They don't understand that the overflow line will siphon down to the end of the tube. Oh well, we live and learn. Herman
  10. Hayes Family, If you are still looking give a look here, Motor Homes of Texas. motorhomesoftexas.com Great coaches, great people. Herman
  11. Joe, are you saying that you are too hot to handle? herman
  12. rp, I would be susceptible to what his is saying. I am not an electrician but know enough to know that if you only have a 30 amp receptacle you should not have two breakers. you can have a 30 amp receptacle that has the hot leg on a 50 amp Breaker. But what happens to the 30 amp breaker. Now he may have a 30 amp and a 15 amp receptacle and that may be on 50 and 30 amp breakers. Then my question would come down to wire gauge, is either heavy enough to carry the loads. He was partly correct about the dog bone. if you have 2 30 amp receptacles and you use a dog bone you will have 2 30 amp legs with a max of 60 amps total. however if you use a dog bone with a 30 amp and 15 amp receptacle you only have a total of 45 amps. which is not enough to run more than one appliance and some cases even not then. In my thinking using an adapter to take a 50 amp plug down to a 30 amp is your smartest chose. Herman
  13. astmi, Your friend can contact RV Fog Dr.at RVFogDr.com or 501-278-3015. They will be able to make and install both single and double pane glass. They are in Searcy Arkansas. Herman
  14. Thanks Kay, our toad is a 08 Silverado Crew cab Z-71 4 X 4. I know you are right and I need a shield of some kind. Problem is, is that I am basically Lazy. I like to get a job done as quickly as possible with as little effort as I can get by with. I know, my bad. Herman
  15. "do not forget the generator needs to be exercised often" A very good reminder to all. Something we all need to do at least once a month is to exercise the generator, Air conditioner(s), Furnace or Aqua Hot. and even the Tv. I just, yesterday ran everything. I now know they are all working and we are ready to go to Shawnee for Six-State. It is good for the units and besides, I don't like surprises when on the road. Herman
  16. rk, Check with the major pharmacies and ask if they will except a prescription by fax from your Dr. If so when you need a renewal just find the local pharmacy and get their fax # and call it to your Dr. Herman
  17. Nice story 2brews. The licensed driver that was to go with me here in Texas had open heart surgery in the morning before my test. I called the DPS office and explained my dilemma. The person that was to give me the driving test said and I quote, "WE DON'T ASK HOW YOU GOT HERE". Went took my test and got my up grade. Herman
  18. One thing I learned from a Friend's experience. Always go very slow when you go under an overpass that goes down and under. He saw the sign and knew he could make it. What he didn't account for was the storm drain where his front end dipped down and the rear end came up and his rear A/C came OFF. Was he going too fast, most likely. Was he not paying attention probably. Did I learn from his experience most definitely. Herman
  19. Sorry if I sounded too negative. P/A is not a bad thing. It just hasn't proved that much to us. I am sure if we were going through areas we are very familiar with and knew all the C/Gs it would be really helpful. Herman
  20. I have towed two black vehicles and never noticed any problems. Our toad is now white and I am seeing chips in the white painted part of the bumper. I guess I had chips before but never noticed them before. Now where to hang the mud flap? On our coach we have a small flap behind each of the tag wheels. We have the full width flap about 18" in from the rear of the coach. When moving I wish it was closer to the ground. However when parked I wish it was shorter. I saw a coach recently that small wheels on each end of his flap so they would roll back when he dumped. They looked to be about the size of children's bicycle training wheels. Good idea. Herman

    Tire Wear

Weighting 4 corners and getting the recommended pressure is the way to go. For me the rule of thumb for tire wear has been, cupping. .shocks or balancing, inner or outer wearing..alignment, both edges wearing equal..too little air pressure and center wear..too much air pressure . Maybe just old school. Herman
  22. Joe, It is a card thst cost about $40.00 per year. At participating parks you receive a 50% discount. Sound good when you first look at it. However (1) you don't get the discount if you make reservations. Drop in only. (2) in most parks it is only good for a maximum of 2 nights. (3) not good on weekends, Monday to Thursday. (4) not good on holidays or local special events. We found it easier to find a Wal-Mart or such tham one of their locations. Please don't get me wrong there are some nice over night parks that participate but there some not so nice ones. Bobbie and I very seldom make reservations. When we are in an area we just look for a place. Found some really nice one and really bad ones. Herman
  23. Joe, Nice site with a great view. Is it a Passport America park $15.00/night? Herman
  24. Thanks for the invite. We would drop by to Choctaw this time but we have to be in Shawnee just as your Rally Starts. We live just 45 miles south in the small town of Whitewright, TX. You most likely pass right through there on you way to Choctaw. Bobbie and I know at least half of your members of RRR. Carl, Lone Star's next Rally is October 20 - 23 at Texarkana RV Park in Texarkana. Would love for you to come and join us. That goes to anyone else that would like to come. Just send me a PM for information. Herman
