  1. Jim, You may find what you are looking for in an older Airstream or Ultrastar. However most DP will be between 11.5 and 12.5 feet but are almost always 102" wide. Good Luck, Herman
  2. Most of the time the ants will follow the electric into a coach. I have a bottle of flea and tick spray for dogs. I spray the water, elect. and sewer hose when we park. This may not help others but it has worked for us. Good Luck Herman
  3. Try googleing Specific Climate Controls and try ebay. Also try some RV Salvage locations. Cowlaws in MO. comes to mind. Herman
  4. Nancy, Sorry that you husband need the O2 so much. I am a vet. and volunteer at the Bonham VA Medical Center. There should be some way the VA can accommodate your husband. I know they can be obstinate at times. There are some nice portable concentrator on the market. Will the VA cover the cost? I know the cost of both the O2 and the concentrator. The O2 is a continued cost where the Concentrator is a one time expense. Maybe you can convince them of this. Good luck. Herman
  5. Go to a CB shop, many truck stops have them. Have them set your antenna with an SWR meter. They will be able to set the correct length. Herman
  6. Montie, Check out Lagoons RV Resort in Rockport. Great park with nice people. Rockport/Fulton is a nice area for dining and just relaxing. Have a great January. Herman
  7. Blueflame, Position doesn't matter. When the tank is empty the bladder will expand to take up the space where the water will be. When you turn on the pump or connect to city water it will compressed is the space is filled with water. When the water pressure reaches the preset shut off point then the pump will shut off. In our coach, we can get at least one and some times two flushes before the pump will start. I hope I explained this well enough. One thing I have discovered is that sometimes when the city water pressure is not too high and we have left the pump on, it will take water from the tank and we will have an empty tank when we start to leave the site. I, fortunately, am able to look at our tank to see the level. Herman
  8. f30, This may sound like a dumb question. By any chance do you have one of your compartment doors under the slide open? If so you may have an over ride switch that will not let the slide open or closed if the door is open. Herman
  9. John, There is the Ameristar Casino RV park at exit 1A that is almost in down town. Might be difficult for a larger MH however a 35 footer might do well. There is also the River Front RV park approx. 6 Miles south at Exit 1B. Nice open park with easy excess. We stayed there for 2 nights just last month. When you depart the park going back north there is a gas station that has easy access for diesel and as good a price as you can find. (Just after you exit on 1B south there is a WalMart on your right.) Have fun with the kids in Destin. By the way did you get the Studebaker pick up bed put in the store? Herman
  10. tdmanl1, Welcome to the Forum. When dealing with a situation such as yours be calm. Getting mad doesn't help, I should know. Be sure and document every time you visit, speak or deal with both the dealer and Jayco. Take pictures of every problem area you have. You will need all the evidence you can should you need to take them to court. You have already started the worst thing a Dealer and/or a Manufacturer can have "Bad Publicity". Good Luck, there are some very good coaches out there. Herman
  11. Iszablewshi, Welcome to the Forum. You might try Xtreme Graphics in Nacodoches. Jim has a great paint shop. Herman
  12. Frank, If its electrical then its a head scratcher. I had the same problem with my inverter. No charging of the Batteries. Took the inverter to a shop that is noted for repairing inverters. "Mr. Mullins, I have bench tested this inverter up, down, in & out over and under, there is nothing wrong with the unit." I asked if a loose ground could be the problem? His response was possible. When I was removing the unit I noticed one ground connection where the wire nut was very loose. When I replaced the unit I made sure all connections were tight. It works like a dream now. My point is that you may just have a loose connection in your unit. Like Chicken Soup for a dead man, it may not help but it can't hurt. Herman
  13. Jim, that might be good except that it would be advertising with no cost to the shop/dealer. It is my thought that word of mouth as well as posting your recommendations on the Readers Forum that is in the magazine each month would be a better way for your to pass on your good experiences. Herman
  14. Planocat, We have several shops in this area that does excellent work. Blue Moon in Carrolton, National Indoors Storage and RV Repair in Lewisville, and you might also try Danny's RV Repair in Denton. North Texas RV Repair in Denton out on West 380 is know for their Body work. Hope this helps. Herman
  15. KK you do not need separate bulbs, just the wiring kit that has the diodes (4 ea.) and the harness. It is a very easy job and no extra bulbs or drilling required. You can get the kits from most RV stores, I know that Camping World has them and the diagram is very good. Herman
  16. dickzupp, Have a good truck alignment shop check the toe-in. If it is set with too much toe-out you will have constant wandering. When one wheel is going straight the other is will try to pull out and you will correct in the opposite direction and the reverse happens. Herman
  17. Ron, The country side is beautiful on 160. However just west of South Fork is Wolf Creek Pass 10,850 ft. There is a tunnel and some tight turns. We have been through it several times and it can be daunting but can be done. Make sure your exhaust brake is working go slow and you can do it. Hope you have a good trip. Herman
  18. Mike, what you are smelling is the sewer gases coming back up through your open gray water hose. Herman
  19. Four wheel drive? I believe it can. Check the FMCA towing guide. Herman
  20. James, You might also check the adjustment. Your headlights may be set too low. Sorry I am not familiar with your coach, do you have coils or leaf spring front end? If coils do you have air bags? If so check the air. If your front end is low or your headlights are set too low you will feel as if you are driving ahead of your lights. Herman
  21. This sounds like a need for an old Sun Diagnostics Machine. Scope and all, also a timing light. Find a shop that has a much older mechanic. He or she will have a vast knowledge older engines. Herman
  22. Burt, Are you sure you have a throttle cable? You may have throttle worked by a rheostat that transfers a signal to the engine. It may be stuck or in a bind. Herman
  23. Your welcome, good luck. Herman
  24. Wellsie, Turn your fan on and see if you can isolate where the noise comes from. You should be able to locate it. Herman
  25. Bruce, Welcome to the Forum. The best question is "who do you have now". As Bill said, both are good and not so good. I have Dish and am very happy with them. Go with your gut. Herman
