  1. gaylemarlowe, I had tires that were 7 years old. The side walls looked perfect. I like you had heard that that tires age out before they wear out on most RVs. So I bought new tires. I got a good look at the tires that were removed from my coach. Low and behold every tire had cracks between each tread and all the way around not just one but all of my old tires. I for one was glad that I changed them when I did. Herman
  2. Becky & Ray, Are you sure you have Diamond Shield and not 3M? 3M will discolor and crack I know for sure. Herman
  3. jmcguire, If you could post the make, model, size, generator and any other information you can it would be helpful in getting the answers you need. Good luck, Herman
  4. freestoneangler, Welcome to the Forum. Both are good quality coaches. Both coaches were part of the Monaco Company but however were not brought back after the Bankruptcy. Monaco still has technicians to be able to answer any question and most parts can still be gotten. Good luck in your pursuit of a nice diesel unit. Herman
  5. sinnoc, Welcome to the Forum. A CO detector for a house is also good for a MH. Some are better then others but they will work in either location. Herman
  6. They are an Insurance Company, I got them through a agent near our home. They saved me over half of what my previous provider did. Our previous provider was a good company but they were just too costly. Herman

    HWH Jacks

Some jacks are bolted in place to go straight down. Others you may know as kick down jacks/ fold up jacks. When retracted the piston will come back up and the jack will fold up. to lower them they will first kick-down or unfold, then extend. Hope this helps. Herman
  8. Don, Welcome to the Forum. 1. Drive Shaft Disconnect. Lube pump may fail, DSD is positive. 2. Have tail/stop lights wired with diodes. 3. M &G is very good but I don't think one can fit due to clearance. SMI is also a good unit. 4. Make sure you have enough hitch and tow bar. Herman
  9. We also stay at our sons house when are there. When ww arrive I pullout my 50 amp cable that has a50 amp receptical on one end and a 50 amp circuit breaker on the other. I remove his power panel snap in the breaker. Replace the cover. When we leave I remove the cable. They get our company and we cover their service while there. Herman
  10. Harvey, Check M & G's web site. They have a listing where you can check if they make on to fit your vehicle. You may call Marty and he will give you the cost and if he has one for your vehicle. Great tech and a great Braking System. M & G Engineering Hwy 19 P. O. Box 1107 Athens, TX 75751 903-675-1147 Herman Mullins

  12. Welcome to the Forum. One way is to contact the FMCA membership office: membership@fmca.com. Ask to speak to the membership office. Tell them who you would like to contact. They can get a message to them and ask them to contact you. You will nee their F number. Herman
  13. DD69, Roadmaster does service you tow bar for free, however you must take yours to their service area. Blue Ox does charge $25.00 but will come and pick up your tow bar , service it and return it to your coach. Both are very good units. Herman
  14. David, Welcome to the Forum. In both cold and hot weather we put up a screen (curtain) behind the wifes and my seats' this keep the dash air and heater from trying to keep the rest of the coach either cool or warm. The wife can use her imagination for the curtain. Herman
  15. I use my GPS for accurate MPH. You can reset your miles to zero on your GPS when you fill up and check miles traveled on your next fill up. Then do the division as Brett said. Herman
  16. Wilber, Welcome to the Forum. Are you a member of FMCA? We would love for you to join. As a member you may take advantage of the Michelin Tire program. Member can go to the program to get instructions. Herman
  17. My Bad! Lone Star Alignment 8127 Hwy 82 Bonham, TX 75418 903-965-5309 Located in Savory but a Bonham address. I had the father do several alignments for me and he did a great job. His son has followed in his service. Give a call, you will need an appointment. Herman
  18. It is always good to find out that a problem is just a blown fuse. But this always makes me wonder "what made the fuse blow". Herman
  19. Shalom, Welcome to the Forum. Check out the site cmarq suggested. By the way when you type in all caps, it indicates that you are shouting. If you don't have any luck, try some RV salvage yards. Just Google rvsalvage. Herman
  20. Ron, There is a really good alignment shop just north of you in Savoy, North Texas Alignment. From Plano, go north on 75 to Sherman. Exit at Hwy 82 and trun right, east. NTA will be on the right about 3 miles east after you pass the exit for Bells (Hwy 69). They have a 40 foot trailer with their name on it. If you can't find their number give me a PM. Herman
  21. In Texas, it makes no difference, He or She. If the coach weighs more then 26,000 lbs a class B or A is required. Many do not have the licences. Herman
  22. Jim, folks need more information. Make and year of coach, make of awning, and as much more information you may have. With this your are sure to get a lot of guidance. Herman
  23. Frank, Welcome to the Forum. I am sure you have, but did you take your alternator of and try to have a parts house match it? If you have it off try and find a Alternator/Starter Rebuilder. ( I would almost bet that they would know the P/N.) Good luck, Herman
  24. Lyle, There are several on the market. They all call for the length and if you want half or full slide. They will ask for a width for the floor of the slide. One of the most important thing to do is get the correct width between the rails and that the rails are parallel to each other. The slides in our coach are made by Kwee-kee. Herman
