  1. Harvey, Can you post a picture of where the cable come out of the gen set. I have several ideas but need to see it first. Herman
  2. Jack, see if you can locate your release solenoid. Mine had dirt dobber nest in them. Herman
  3. One thought, if you have a fear of loosing your brakes due to low air, don't worry. When your air goes down to 60 psi (I believe) your park brake will set and not release until the pressure comes back up. Herman
  4. To me it all depends on the quality of your current coach and what you can afford. Ours is 11 years and counting. At my age I hope it keeps up with us, Herman
  5. Jamie, Have you tried a toilet brush. There may be a snag that needs cleaning. Herman
  6. If the coach has been setting for three years, I would change every filter on the coach, the oil, all belts, put in fuel additives, have the coolant checked and check out the transmission. It will be costly but well worth it all. Herman PS, check the dates on the tires also.
  7. Our Rally here in Burleson began Last Thursday. We Arrived here Wednesday.Still here because the roads in the country are not cleared. Bill, Tom & Louise wish your were here. Herman
  8. 66, I love the simple but functional dash. I noticed the picture of the door, there is a paint flake that looks like a Grayhound. Herman
  9. Jim, Welcome to the Forum. Did this happen on cars trying to enter a freeway? I can see this happening there and sorry there is nothing you can do with stupidity. Herman
  10. It is a bit further north but how about Possum Kingdom Lake.
  11. Don, You should have more then one screw holding your cabinet up. Using the same size and length screw move over a inch and install the new screw. Be sure and push the cabinet up before trying to tighten the screw. You could also add another screw from the front cabinet to the cabinet to the right after you secure it to the ceiling. Herman
  12. melgu, Welcome to the Forum. Does your Roadtrek have door lock lockouts or child protects on the doors? Herman
  13. One thing to remember is to always have your toads wheels straight when you begin moving. Herman
  14. turbine52, Welcome to the Forum. Are you sure you have a steering wheel lock? My 2008 Silverado does not. I have a Drive Shaft Disconnect and when I tow I do my hook up to the tow bar back the truck up, put the truck in neutral, pull the disconnect to disengage it and take a look at the speedo to see if it starts to indicate speed, if so I kill the engine put the truck in park, close the door and lock the truck. I have an M & G braking unit which requires no electrical power at all. Tows fine and never a dead battery. If you do indeed have a steering wheel lock you can take it to a shop and have them remove the locking pin. Herman
  15. Bill, It may just be me, however if I found a coach 10 years old that was only driven 1,700 miles a year it would send up a few questions. Has it set un used for a very long time? Was it used for full time living? I'm not saying it would be a bad purchase, just that it may need all new hoses and complete inspection of all appliances. It may need all new fabrics inside. Hope everything comes out great and you get a real good deal. Herman
  16. Hello Frank, The Cricket you speak of is a nice but it is a very small cart. If you might be large people it may be difficult for two people to ride in it. By the way Frank, when you type in all capitols it indicates that you are shouting. Just a tip. Good Luck, Herman
  17. LHF and capearc, Welcome to the Forum. LHF, your coach has a number assigned to the coach by Monaco. It is the number where they can trace everything in or on the coach. Find your number, call Monaco and they will give you the manufacturer's name. If you haven't already done so register your coach with Monaco and they can keep you up on any issues that may arise. A good seat cover shop may be able to help. Good Luck, Herman
  18. Hey Bill long time. Have you tried "Joes Hitch" in Dallas? They did a complete job on a friend of mine this year. To me it was a bit high, however he had the works, Tow Bar, Base Plates, wiring and Brake Buddy. We just got a Saturn Vue and I will set it up myself. I just haven't decided if I will mount the base plates or have it done. I have the Brake Unit and will put it on in the next week or so. Wiring isn't a problem. We have a Rally Dec. 5-6-7 in Burleson at the North Texas Jellystone Park (aka RV Ranch). If you would like to join us let me know. Herman
  19. kayakdeb, Welcome to the Forum. Take a close look at your assembly. It is most likely from an automobile manufacturer. Coach designer in the past used Head light and tail light assemblies from Cars. Mine happen to be the same as a BMW. If you can look at the assembly there may be a part number in or on the light. Good luck, Herman
  20. Since you are in a Storage Shed, I assume that it is a rental. If so the majority of them only have either a 15 or 20 amp breaker. Are you connected to a 50 amp plug or do you have it connected with an adapter? On my 02 Dynasty the 15 amp was only good for keeping the Inverter/ Charger running to maintain charged batteries. Herman
  21. Larry, Welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your new coach. You are correct that there some ghost that will draw down your Batteries. Yes you may disconnect the battery cable, and you may also purchase a battery disconnect for your battery. However over a long period of time even a fully charged battery will lose power. If you will be parking your coach for a very long period of time you could remove the Batteries and put them on a trickle charger in you garage. You could also start and drive the unit for a min. of 25 miles so your could charge the batteries and warm up the engine and transmission. Have a good time with your new purchase. Herman
  22. Or if it bounces all over the road, you could call it "Gene Kelly."
  23. Bluebird, I have done it on four Vehicles and have never had a problem. Herman
  24. SnowT Welcome to the Forum. Keep us up with your modifications. The pictures look like a great project vehicle. For me, it looks so different to see the passenger entry on the left side, but I guess that has to be if you drive on the wrong side of the road(ha ha). Good Luck, Herman
  25. When I need to replace a hydraulic hose, I don't go the Mfg. I go to a hydraulic shop and have them make one. I take the old one for them to match. A hose on my Brother in law's Big Foot Unit ruptured. They wanted close to $90.00 for the hose plus labor. I removed the hose took it to a shop and had one made for $25.00 and installed for him. Jack worked fine. Thought I am sad to say that my Brother in law passed away and my sister sold the coach. Herman
