  1. pattie1tom and ptjiff04, I applauded both of you for introducing your children to this wonderful country and to Rving. Sounds like you'll have as mush fun as the Kids. Keep up the great parenting. Herman
  2. cowboy, Are saying that the chrome rings are painted to the coach or that you are afraid you might slip and scratch the paint? If painted, take a razor blade and cut all around the ring before trying to remove it. If you are afraid of slipping put duct tape around the ring before trying to loosen the screws. Herman
  3. sfctrucker, Be sure and post what the problem was and what was done to correct it when you have the dealer check the codes. Herman
  4. Cowboy, If there are no screws then they are clip in lenses. Try to gently insert a flat blade screw driver in one end and very gently try to push the edge of the lens out. Be careful with the pressure. Herman
  5. Robsa, I just went over the 2014 Guide to Dinghy Towing, that came with my latest issue of "Motor Home" magazine. There are no Acuras listed in their guide. So before you make the purchase, I would contact the factory and make sure that is should not be towed 4 down and if done so would void any warranty. Herman
  6. Larry, I just saw an article on using Paraffin Wax on wood working equipment, table saws, jointers, and almost any surface where you need wood to slide. Herman
  7. larcar and Markstella, Take your wiper blades to a truck dealers parts department. Show them what you have and they may have better arms, shorter blades or have a solution for you. Herman
  8. Had GMAC for several years and they were very responsive to any problems. However when I went to compare prices I found a company where I cut my cost in half. Michael, since you are close to me in Texas give me a PM and I will give you their number. Herman
  9. sfctucker, How long has it been since the fuel filters have been changed? My unit would buck and snort at low speeds and would buck when I got up to speed and would try to accelerate. Changed both filters added strong additive and haven't had a problem since. Herman
  10. Nice looking unit, Congratulations. Herman
  11. wellsie, Try calling the company in Texas where you got the bags and ask for the part number. Then go to a large truck dealer and shop. Ask the parts man if they can cross reference the number. They may even have the same bag at a lower cost. Herman
  12. dorfboyzz, Do you have a smart wheel? If so get the number off the smart wheel module, on my coach it is in the electrical panel just in front of the drivers front tire. Go to www.vipwheels.com web site and down load the instructions for your module. Then call VIP and talk with a tech. They will walk you through the steps to test to see if that portion of the module is defective. I just recently changed mine due to the same problem with the horn. Vehicle Improvement Products 151 S Ram Rd. Antioch, IL 60002 847-395-7250 www.vipwheels.com Hope this helps Herman
  13. The KOA in Cody is a nice park. On our visit in 2007 it cost $48.00 per night. They have a pancake breakfast each morning. Sausage cost extra. If you have time see the shoot out in the evening. The Museum is great for adults, however it may get tiresome for little ones. I also see that you have an evening set for Mt Rushmore, it is an unbelievable sight. Sounds like you will have a wonderful trip for you and the children. Good luck and enjoy. Herman
  14. We have A-H in our coach and since December I have spent almost $3,000.00 on the unit. Am still not sure if it is working properly. Finicky is not the word I would use to describe the unit. Great when working but *##* when not. Herman
  15. Welcome to the Forum, Try http://mudflaps.com/ they handle the Ultra Guard. Herman
  16. My question would be, "# 6 wire for a solar panel?" Herman
  17. John, watch Planocat, he just got his drivers license. Some times I think Brett has his sail up when he has a trailing wind. John, Bobbie and I generally get about the same as you. But as stated that is with the computer. If you have a GPS, set the mileage to zero when you fill up and check the mileage when you fill the next time. Subtract the beginning from the ending. Divide the miles by the amount of fuel used and you should get your true MPG. At the same time check you miles traveled against the GPS. Also check your speedometer against the GPS to see if your speedo is correct. I have found my speedo to be 5 MPH slower then my actual speed. The GPS is very accurate. Happy Trails Herman
  18. 99, Go to Motorhomes of Texas website. They are in the same town as Foretravel. Nacodoches, TX, They have some nice Pre-owned Fortravels. Herman
  19. Firestarter, Are we talking about a dishwasher in your coach or house? The icemaker is not an RV item. Are you talking about RV items or household items?? You have us confused. Herman
  20. KMiller, To close your cover there should be a knob in the corner of the fan. You can pull the knob down and manually close the cover. Your fan should stop when the cover is closed. If it does not stop the fan control know can be turned to the off position. This should get your cover closed and the fan stopped. Please call Fan-Tastic and talk to a tech, they are great. Herman
  21. Ray, I checked my mirror turn signal lights yesterday. They just pop out if you put a thin screw driver placed at one end and not on the side. Mine were complete units and would need to replace the whole thing and not just the bulb. Can any one tell me where to acquire the small bulbs for the side Turn Signals? Auto parts houses?? Herman
  22. astmi, Which part of the Handle are you looking for, the outside lift handle or the inside latch? Check out this company that advertise in the Magazine. HH Machining/RV Div. 661-274-1966 or 991-269-3233 www.motorhomelatches.com Herman
  23. When you turn off your engine and remove the key, turn the wheel one direction or the other. If it locks you have a locking pin. If it doesn't lock then you don't. Sorry I am not familiar with the variable assist steering. Herman
  24. I believe that a full body paint job on a 37 foot MH will run in the neighbor hood of $20,000.00 and up. Herman
  25. rpharr, Welcome to the Forum. As Bill said "HOT". If you are in the South West in July expect the weather to be hot and dry. Unlike the mountain of Colorado and Wyoming where if you are hot just step into the shade to cool off, in the S/W it seems that when hot and you step into the shade it gets hotter. Just a Texans thoughts. Have lots of water Herman
