  1. Bluebird, those are questions to ask the manufacturer. Most MH come pre-wired for trailer brakes as do a lot of trucks. Many diesel MH come plumbed for air. So a visit with you MH Manufacturer and the Toads Mfg. would or should answer your question. Herman
  2. Jim, Welcome to the Forum. Several questions: Is your truck four wheel drive? Does your truck have a steering wheel locking pin? If you truck is four wheel drive and you do not have a steering wheel locking pin, you do not need to pull any fuses. My 2003 Yukon and my 2008 Silverado neither had wheel lock pins. On the Yukon I just put it in four wheel neutral put the selector in Park and pulled on down the road, I did have it hooked to the Coach. On my Silverado, which is two wheel drive, I pull my drive shaft disconnect put the truck in park and again pull on down the road. Both of these vehicle came without the wheel locking pin. Check yours to see if it has the pin. Herman
  3. 99, that is a very open end question. Some people think McDonalds makes the best burgers. Other think that if it is not made on Fifth Ave in NY it isn't worth eating. My question to you is which of the above items mean the most to you. Then look to the coaches that meet your requirements. Each of the coaches you mention are all very well made in their own right. Each of them would be happy to give you a tour of their operations. Hope you find the one that comes close to all of your wants. Herman
  4. Bill, I have to agree with you about doing the removal and replacement yourself. I can not believe how heavy a device about the size of a shoe box can weight sooo much. In my bay my belly was a great help. Herman
  5. rickw1221, Welcome to the Forum. I myself like the GPS unit that I have mounted on my dash. It is connected to the DC outlet, it has it own stand, and I can do my searches just like my phone (when I pull over and stop to look). One thing I do not do is rely on it to be the final say. I always try to visit maps to make sure I have an idea of where I am heading. Both the GPS and Google maps are good but neither are always correct. Herman
  6. Sorry Kay, but I would not advise that. You would be putting matching tires with the same wear on the front and three of the four tires on the rear would be of different wear. Just the slightest difference in size can do damage to the differential over a period of time. Matching tires on the front and matching tires on the rear. Best choice. Herman
  7. Badams, Where did you find your replacement units. Herman
  8. Welcome to the Forum and FMCA. Now you have one more thing to do, find a chapter to join. You will make many new friends that will last a life time. Again, Welcome. Herman
  9. John, The person you should contact is the National President of FMCA, Charlie Adcock. Charlie is putting and emphases on people of your age, and I know what that is. He feels very strong on this and would love your input. cadcock@fmca.com. Drop him an email he would like to visit with you. Would love to see you at the reunion April 5 at Faubin but we will be at a Planning Rally. Herman
  10. JT, There are a number of auto reels on the market. You might look in your local Welding Supply Store. They have both hand and powers reels for large welding cable and may have something to fit your bill. With long lengths of hose or cable I will lay it on the ground and wind it into a circle then pick it up and store it in a bay. Good luck, Herman
  11. Huff, I have three side markers on both side of our coach. The front and middle are both Amber and the rear is Red. The front Amber and Rear Red are both turn signals along with the Mirror and Front and rear markers. I kind of like the idea of changing to the LEDs. Anything to alert some of the clowns out there. But I must say that most driver are well behaved and will yield when they are aware of your changes. Has anyone out there noticed that trucker don't flash their lights to indicate that your are safe to return to your lane after passing. There are a few that still signal but they are getting fewer. Herman
  12. John, What you have are solid wood on your doors and laminated cabinets. What you see peeling is a glued on paper product to look like wood. There are several ways to correct this. One would be to use a good adhesive and re attach the peeling material. You could also reface the cabinets with a laminate such as Formica. You would need to remove the present laminate and glue on the new laminate. Or you could have a cabinet shop make and install new Cabinet faces. To me the first one would be the most logical. Say hi to the folks for me. Herman
  13. There are several RV Parks in Cody. When we were there we stayed at the KOA. Nice Place if you get on the front row. Hill City is a good place to stay for both Mt. Rushmore and Custer. If you don't do anything else, please go back to Mt. Rushmore at night. Your parking pass is good for a year and the site is awesome at night. Have a wonderful trip, all of it will well be worth your time. Herman
  14. Dave, Welcome to the Forum and Thank you for your Service. GO NAVY. Herman
  15. ? How much was it to replace two Norcold verses a residential refrigerator? Just wondering. Herman
  16. Medico, What you are referring to is called a "Spring Wing Toggle". And you are correct that it may not work in the very thin luan material. The best thing to do on this material is to spread the load. But who wants to mount a 12" X 12" piece of wood to mount a 1" wide bracket. Herman
  17. Don't hold me to this. I was told that some people are having their roofs sprayed with a material such as Rhino Liner. If so that should seal just about anything and then some. I would sure hate to have to make a repair on it. Herman
  18. Lyle, You could cut two 1" X 3" boards long enough to reach from the floor up past the rod. drill a hole large enough for the rod to go through. Stand the rods up, one at each end and secure them to the walls. Several screws to secure the boards will hold up the rod and support the weight. Herman
  19. dd69, I agree with the number of lights you were able to do but my lights were really bad. Mine almost looked like they had been sandblasted. I was looking for replacements but could not bring my self to pay Monaco's price. I found out that they are from a BMW, right now I can't remember the year. FYI to those out there, most MH headlight assemblies are from a auto mfg. Herman
  20. Bikeman, 3M makes a kit that work fairly well. The kit I purchased was about $25.00. It took one kit per light plus my time. I might reconsider that cost if I knew then what I know now. Herman
  21. Steve, One more thing I would check is the gap (called "dual spacing) between the Rear dual wheels. You may need a spacer between the rims. Herman
  22. Washtech, Is your switch a momentary or 2 position? If it is a 2 position then here is what I would do. First I would dump the air and then go out and check to see if the Tag Axle wheels are raised up off the ground. Then I would go back in the coach reverse the switch and go back out and check to see if the wheels have lowered. That would answer your question about the raising and lowering the Tag. I understand that some tags will go down after you exceed a certain MPH. My Dynasty will stay up till I reverse the switch. It does have a alarm but I can't hear it but the DW can and will let me know to "Lower the Tag dummy". Herman
  23. That's it dd69, rub it in. Herman
  24. Susan, Welcome to the Forum. In your coach you should have an AC Electrical Panel. Check and see if you may have a tripped breaker. Let the Forum know what make and model coach you have and someone may have the same coach as you and have had the same problem. Herman
  25. Stan, Thank you for your service. Herman
