Rich, Can you put one of these in your tank as a preventive? I have also heard that you have to be very careful using these products. See you in Gillette. Herman

What are the thoughts of adding a smaller Inverter (Pure Sine Wave) just for the Residenial Refer.? I am thinking of some of the units that have a Modified Sine Wave Inverter. I am looking at Camping World Catalog (I'm sure there may be better prices out there) and a New 3000 watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter/charger shows $2,169.99 where a 1000 watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter is $284.99. Trying To Find Air Bags For 1997 Monaco Dynasty

rllarson, Welcome to the Forum. Ask your dealer to reposition the tires on the wheels. All tires have heavy spots in them and sometimes everything get to the same location and the wheel/tire are very hard to balance. Do you feel the shimmy in the steering wheel or in your seat. In the steering wheel it is the front tires. If you feel it in the seat it will be the rear tires. Michelins are very good tires and they will stand behind them. If the dealer cannot balance them then ask for them to be replaced. Good Luck Herman

Kevin, It wouldn't hurt to pull one of the plugs and take a look to see if it is really sooted up. Black soot could mean that it is running too rich and a hotter plug might help. I am sure there is a tuner made for your 8.1. If you have a GPS you can check your speedo with it. Since our odometer is off (about 2 10th), I drive by the GPS for my speed. Herman

Dave & Mary, Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. Last question first. Yes you may attend a chapter rally without joining. Here on the FMCA web site there is a section for Chapters. Click on there, scroll down to the Great Lake Area and look for Chapters. There you will find big chapters and small chapters, old chapters and new chapters. There is a chapter to fit most everybody's needs, likes, size and area. In the Magazine there is a section "Association Calender". Go there, find a time frame that fits and look for Rallies that are in your area. There will be a person to contact for information. If you and Mary were in the Texas area I would be inviting you to a Lone Star Rally. (If you are planning a visit to the Southwest send me a Personal Message). Again Welcome to FMCA it is a great place to be. Herman Mullins President Lone Star Chapter

Bob, If it hasn't been said before, Welcome to the Forum. 1) Have you had your unit serviced in the past year? It is a good idea to have it serviced every couple of years if not every year. 2) Have you checked your coolant level? You can check the level at the overflow tank, but its best (when the unit is cool) to check it at the radiator cap on top of the unit. 3) Have you checked the fuel filter? When was the last time it was changed? Your fuel filter can do strange things. It may let fuel flow just fine today but not when you park and everything settles it may clog up and not allow enough fuel to pass. You may have water in the filter. All these can lead to keeping your unit from working properly. Hope this helps, Herman

Manuverability as a Function of Wheelbase
hermanmullins replied to MarYJac04's topic in Type A motorhomes
On all vehicles, remember the over hang. Some shorter wheel based vehicles have a long over hang that can swing really wide when making sharp turns. Watch the rear as well as the front when turning. Herman -
Allieb, Welcome to the Forum. Look around at a lot of cars and trucks. The RV manufacturers use a lot of auto parts. My head lights are from a BMW. Take a look at Chevrolet Fog/Running lights you may find a match. If you could post a picture of the Fog Light someone may have a replacement. Good Luck. Herman

Astmi, Sounds like a Big Foot Jack. Each jack is independent with its own Pump and reservoir. It mat have lost all of its fluid. To tell if it is a big foot look at the Pad. It should be close to a foot in across. It may have blown a seal. Is there a lot of fluid on the ground? If it will go up by hand, have him raise it and tie it up till he can get to a shop. Herman

Alert To All AquaHot And Hydronic Heating System Users
hermanmullins replied to f330021's topic in Systems and Appliances
Larry, Welcome to the Forum. When you drained the coolant did you have it tested? When I drained my unit I had it tested and found it in need of replacing. I do keep a pump up sprayer, with 50/50 in it to top off the tank. When I had to replace the 16 Gallons I got a bucket (5 gallon) and put a connection in the bottom, connected a hose long enough to reach the tank while the bucket was mounted on a raised platform to gravity feed the coolant into the tank. Worked like a dream. Herman- 15 replies

Had this problem with my Dynasty. It was a solenoid. There are two in the electrical panel in front of the front left wheel. Get a circuit tester and find a ground. With the key on check both sides if each solenoid. you should have 12 volts on each side. If not then the solenoid is bad. When I found this I jumped across the solenoid with jumper cables til I got home. Herman

I have 4 Garmins, don't ask. I just updated one with its lifetime maps. It took an hour on the phone with a very nice young lady. (young because anyone still working is young to me). When we got it to where the maps began to download it took 2 hours. That being said GPS units are computers and as the old saying goes "Garbage in Garbage out". I only us mine as a referance and not to take me where I do not know the Hwy's and roads. If I am going to some place I do like a lot have done here. ASK about the route you plan to take. I just got a satalite look at a road we will take out of Denver to a special camp for our Special Grandson. I counted nine (9) hairpen curves in the route both up and down. But youknow something, to be able to spend the week with our grandson the road doesn't matter. All GPS unit have their good points and bad points, so buy one of each and between them all you might get good routes. Herman

I agree with both Rich and Brett. A/C units need exhaust and they need to be serviced. I see by your post that you have one 24,000 BTU unit. Do you have one or two units. If you decide that another unit is required check at Lowes and Home Depot. I seem to remember they both had portable room units that only needed a window to vent through. I don't remember how it discharged the condensation. I do remember that they were up right units on rollers. Keep cool, Herman

Neal Day, Welcome to the Forum. You said that you had a combo stove/oven. How does the stoves burners work. Is there enough flame to cook with? If there is then you may have a thermostat that isn't functioning properly. If the burners are not up to par you may have a restriction in your gas line. Just my thoughts. Herman

stuplich, I am sorry for your bad experience with the one rally you attended 9 years ago. Even a bad restaurant deserves a second chance. I know there are some Chapters that are not what a lot of people want. That is why there are hundreds of Chapters and I am sure one of them would meet your needs. If you have stayed with FMCA for 11 years there must have been something you liked. Give us another chance. See if you can find a RV key # 751. That key fits quite a few storage compartments. You should be able to find one at an RV dealer or Camping World. In fact one of your friends might have one. Herman
