  1. Itasca36M Welcome to the Forum. What you may have is a balance problem with your rear wheels. If you have a shake or bounce in the steering wheel it will be, most of the time, front wheel shimmy. If you feel it in the seat is will be, most of the time, in the rear wheels. Check all of your wheels for cupping which is another indication of wheels that need to be balanced. Herman
  2. Cat, I have a powered awning. Look at your manual there are instructions on how to recalibrate the unit. The control box is in my front cabinet above the passenger seat. Check that out and Call A & E. Herman
  3. Tom, Stay away from Admarilty. Very Bad CG. Check out www.rvparkreviews.com. Herman
  4. Jr. Its about time you Came UP. Congrat. Thank you for your service. Herman
  5. Just North of Houston is Conroe. Take the Hwy 105 Exit and go West aprox. 8 Miles. Lake Conroe KOA RV park. Nice Park Concrete drive and pads. Easy drive on into Houston around noon. Herman
  6. Wayne, that thought went through my mind also. (I know there a lot of hole for it to go through) I got some nice Chrome letters and put them beside my entry door. "PRIVATE COACH" Does it work, I do not know, but they look nice. Semper Fi good buddy. Herman
  7. Ralph, Welcome to the forum. Some states require supplemental braking systems on all towed vehicles. Some have a min. weight limit. For example Texas requires any thing over 4,200 lbs. to have a sup. brake system. As far as whether insurance companies require them is up the the individual companies. All that being said it is not a good idea to tow a vehicle without a sup. brake system. No matter what you are driving a tow vehicle is added weight that is free wheeling when you apply your brakes and put added strain on your brakes. Just think of having to make an emergency stop and your tow bar is not level with your coach. This could cause the tow vehicle's front end to go up into the back of your coach causing damage to both your coach and car/truck. When on the Highway it is always better to be SAFE then SORRY. Good Luck and be Safe not Sorry. Herman Goo
  8. Hmmm? I wonder if you can buy a 3" inlet by 4" outlet 11" steel packed Smitty Muffler? Man what a sound. Herman
  9. Along with what Rich said do you have a Smart Wheel? I had a problem with lights and cruise control. It turned out that the Smart Wheel Control Moduel had two burnt connections. I had to change out the Module and the connector. I had a discussion with the factory tech and decided to put inline fuses to the two power leads to the unit. No problem with it since. My module was located in the panel just in front of the left front wheel. (02 Monaco Dynasty). Herman
  10. DeWat, You are a smart man. I see a screw and I remove it. Then say oh %^&% I should not have done that. But some how I always find a way. Good Luck. Herman
  11. Bill, You are correct about M&G. It's kinda like American Express,"I never leave home with out it". I checked and they do not make a brake for thr Focus. Like a lot of front wheel drive vehicles there isn't enough room to move the master cylinder out far enough.
  12. derh2o, Welcome to the Forum. Check the Forum under towing. There are lots of Blogs about towing the Fords. I would check it out before taking delivery of your new Ford. Herman
  13. jmr12. Sorry that you got no response to you question. I don't know much about Washington, but try this. rvparkreviews.com . Here you can go to the state and then to the city for RV Parks. Look at all of the reviews so you can get an overall view of what several people think. Herman
  14. What is considered too far off, 4oz, 10oz? On a passenger car or truck 4oz would be considered way off. But on a 22.5 tire thay may be OK. Just wondering. Herman
  15. Ralph, Welcome to the Forum. When you disconnect power to your ECM (Engine Control Module) It has to reprogram itself. You can get a rough Idle for a short time. Some units can take up to 100 miles of driving to relearn. Herman
  16. Andy, Here are my thoughts.Boots broken but full of greses. That grease has all kinds of road debri in it now. That grease will penitrate to lube along with the Debri. I would replace the Tie Rod Ends, fill with Fresh new grease and have the front end aligned. Good Luck, Herman
  17. roadtripinblues. I won't be quit so blunt, but Generic makes a valid point. I know that in every state liability insurance is required. I would opt for that only. The only way I would put full coverage on that old of a unit would be if it was it a complete frame off restoration. At that point you would have to set a cost. It would not be wise to have insurance with $550 of 1,000 deductible on a unit that is worth what yours is. This is just some sage advice from an older RVer.
  18. Roger and Beverly, Welcome to the Forum. I am looking at two items that may be causing the problem. 1) Ignition switch. 2) look and see if there is a relay for the dash panel. Will let you know the answer. Herman

Now I have another invite. (I have been told that Capitols means you are shouting) IF YOU LIVE IN OR AROUND TEXAS, COME JOIN LONE STAR AT A RALLY. We have 5 Rallies each year, February, April, May, September and December. We always have members going to South Central Area's Six-State Rally. This year we are one of the Host Chapters. So come, relax and enjoy yourself, I will even buy you a peanut or two. If you would like more information Personal Message me and I will get back to you. Regards. Herman Mullins Vice President Lone Star Chapter of FMCA
  20. jwc, its very simple. Call David, give him the information on you truck and see if he can do your truck in one day. Leave the coach at home, come to Dallas, rent a motel and a car. Drop off the truck at DSKings. Go see the Rangers play, visit Cowboy Stadium, visit Six Flags (they are all close together) and go down town to the Sixth Floor Museum. Or you could call David and ask if he knows a dealer closer to you. Come and enjoy you will like it. Herman
  21. IMS 1943, You didn't say what kind of coach or what year it is. I have an 02 Monaco and have a problem like yours. Mine is in the key switch. Sometimes when I turn the switch to start the coach there will be no lights on and no instruments will work. The engine will still start but nothing on the dash lights up or works. I turn off the key and turn it back on, sometimes it takes several tries, and everything works. I am living with for now. My key switch is a GM. However I will have to remove the switch to find out the number and just don't want to have to rewire it now. I will do it this summer. I sent you a P/M. Good Luck Herman
  22. jwcgc629, Welcome to the Forum. Drive Shaft King 2319 N. Beckley Ave Dallas, TX 2149417122 Ask for David. Great People and they install the Remco Disconnect. If you have a steel drive shaft they will modify your shaft. Balance, install and not let you leave until he is sure you know all about your disconnect. If your shaft is aluminum he will have to make you a new shaft and install a carrier bearing, the disconnect, balance the unit and again not let you leave till you are OK.
  23. mcrane & mjs. Welcome both of you to the Forum. I have been interested in doing the same. I'm not sure that I would go with a floating floor. I would think that a laminate type floor with an underlayment and nailed to the sub floor. I too am interested in hearing from others out there. I don't think it would be too big a chore for a FIY person. What say out there???
  24. I have always said,"If you don't like the rules work within them until you can get into a position where you can change them." Herman
  25. I beleive you can subscribe to the magazine without becoming a member. Brett, "T" what say?
