  1. Skip, If when you'll are gone and there is any of your money left for the children you did it wrong. There will be no problem with your pets in your coach as long as you have the AC on. You can walk your pets, on a leash, as long as you pick up after them. There are Trams that run through out the parking areas so you should not have to walk too far unless you want to. Go, Enjoy, Have Fun and don't forget to pick up after your pets. Herman
  2. Jerry, Welcome to the Forum. What year coach do you have. I believe you have a coach (ISC) that didn't have a catalytic converter. Herman
  3. Lloyd, you didn't mention a braking system. Do you have one? I towed a 03 Yukon XL many miles with no problem towing or stopping. I had a M & G brake. Herman
  4. Emily, There are so many preowned RVs on the market today it would make it impratical to take on such a project. You can purchase many different coaches with up to 4 slideouts. Some even have what is called a full body slideout. However HWH makes slide components.
  5. I just contacted Drive Shaft King in Dallas, Texas. Remco is still manufacturing the Drive Shaft Disconnect. However they are so swamped with orders, they are experiencing several weeks of back orders. But they are still making disconnects. If you are in the DFW area and need a disconnect Contact David, Drive Shaft King, 214-941-7122. They are one of the best.
  6. Mike, You might check how your coach is loaded. Which side is your water and holding tank on? Go have your coach weighed.(each wheel). You may find too much weight on your street side (left). If you can't find a place to weigh your coach try unloading your coach and empty your tanks. Then check both sides for height. If it sits level then you know it is weigh distribution. If it still has a slight lean try another shop. Also if you have independent front suspension do you have air bags in the coil springs? If so check pressure in each.
  7. Don, Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. To get a fair idea on a RV Park check out www.rvparkreviews.com you can get an idea of what people that have visited a parks thought. But please remember a poor day with the Grand Kids is better then a day without them. You make it fun for them. Keep huggin, keep lovin and they will keep enjoying. Herman
  8. Frank, one thing you may try is cleaning the coils. you can get the correct material at almost any AC supply house. Be careful on the roof. Herman
  9. Ken Welcome to the Forum. Champion Purchased a company called Farin Ultrastar and it was sold or taken over by Champion. If you are looking at an Ultrastar it is a very well made Coach. We had a 28' on a P30 chassis with a 454 Chevrolet. The only problem we had was that it kept throwing the AC Belt. I finaly found out that they had put it on the wrong grove in th pully. Corrected that and all was OK. I do not beleive they are still in business. Herman
  10. sfccpa, This is what I would do: Plug in the coach when you park it. Make sure there is nothing in the fridge that will spoil and leave it running. If you have a power failure it will go off but if you have it in the auto mode it will switch to LP and will revert back to AC when the power returns. If your coach pops a breaker you will have a hot fridge when you get there. At that point I would be looking for what popped the breaker rather then being concerned about a hot fridge. As has been said before "It happens". Buy some Ice and hope that is cools down quickly. Also if you are going to leave your fridge on and it is a Norcold be sure you have had BOTH recalls done. Happy RVing and cold Beers to you. Herman
  11. Dennis, Welcome to the Forum. If I remember correctly your gas pedal is not mechanical but an electric rheostat . Is may have some flat or burnt spots, With the engine off try pumping the pedal several times. Then try it with the engine running. It may be that you will need to replace the unit, I would bet dollars to donuts it is a General Motors part. Herman
  12. Scoutspal, now that I see your blog, I remember what I said. I suggested that you buy a lot, on a lake or in the woods. Go ahead and put in the septic tank, water and Elec. Then when the desire to go to the Cottage you can go, hook up the M/H and you have your cottage. Then you still can hit the road in your cottage when you want. Later on you can sell the bricks and stick and build a cottage on the lake or in the woods. Home, cottage and motor home, what could be better. Herman
  13. Loosen fitting on the outlet side of filter turn key on. If fuel flows, turn off key and repair Carb. If no fuel flow loosen inlet side of filter turn on key. If fuel flows, turn off key and replace Filter. If no fuel flow check pump for loose connection, bad fuse or replace pump. By the way this is a two person job. and protect your face, eyes and mouth. Oh yes, remember to tighten all connections after checking for fuel flow. It may be an extra expense but I always replace the fuel filter when I change the oil and filter. Good luck and No Smoking when checking fuel system.
  14. Henry, Your Rebuicon must have two circuits off the Battery. My reference was to the Battery disconnect. That removes all power to every circuit in the vehicle. Herman
  15. There was the gentleman that went through an intersection and the camera flashed. He knew that he had not ran the light or was speeding. So he went around the block slower and still the light flashed. So he went around again same thing. He did this 5 times and the camera flashed each time. So he went on home. 5 days later he receives a letter form his local Law Enforcement with 5 citations for not wearing his seat belt. Herman
  16. Please, eveyone do not take this wrong. I can not understand why any one would pull fuses or put in battery disconnect switches. It is very simple to add a fuses power wire to the harness to keep the battery up when towing. Disconnecting the battery for several hours will deprogram the ECM and it will take some time to reset itself. Just my thoughts.
  17. lloyd21, Welcome to the Forum and Kudos for Dave You gave him the best advertising there is. Herman
  18. Bobby, Never heard of having to pull and turn in you tags. With GMAC all you have to do is call. Tell them you want to put your coach in storage. Your coach must remain in storage for 30 days to get the cost savings. Take it out early and you pay full insurance cost. When you place your coach in storage it removes your Liability and Collision coverage for what ever period over 30 days you have it in storage. This is really good during the winter times when you are not on the road. If you have a lean on the coach you must maintain comprehensive to keep the lean holder covered. Hope this Helps. Herman
  19. nlbigbend, Just my thoughts. If you are on oxycodone for back pain and have to have it fill over and over, should you even be driving? I hope your D/W is driving for you. Please be safe and I hope your back gets better. Herman
  20. Frank, one of the nice things about the newer Chevrolets and GMC is that there is no steering wheel lock. If you are towig their 4 X 4 all you have to do is put the transfer case in neutral, put the selector in Park and remove the key. And if you are really smart you have a M & G Brake and do not need to have power to a brake in the toad. Herman
  21. GM, Welcome to the Forum. And thank you for looking to FMCA to answer your questions. 1) 12,000 to 15,000 miles per year. 2) Tow vehicle 46,000 miles - Coach 57,000 miles. 3) Some where around 150,000 miles 4) Can be up to several hours. 5) Again several hours. 6) 65 to 70 MPH 7) No 8) N/A Hope this helps your survey. Herman
  22. Jim, I think this is the Mfg. doing a CMA. If the Rack can be used to carry bikes on the Jeep when you are driving it, what different does it make if the Jeep is towed? (Cover My A--) Herman
  23. thaight, Welcome to the Forum. I have a Blue OX tow bar with Blue Ox base plates on my Chevrolet Truck. My tow bar is locked on the coach. When we hit the road I install the two pins on the truck, pull up to the truck and only have to pit in two hitch pins an I my tow bar is ready. I do have to pit on the safety cables, light cord, air brake line and the brake away safety cable. In my opinion the tow bar that stays on the coach is the way to go. I may be wrong but I believe that Blue OX is the only maker that has just the pins that are removable from the base plates. But there are several really good tow bars on the market and only you can and should decide which one is right for you. Good luck. Herman
  24. Every coach carries paper plates. Place one under each plate. Or you can purchase rubberized shelf material and cut pieces to go under plates, saucers and or bowls. For stem ware purchase 1" to 2" foam sheets. Cut it to fit shelf. Press stem ware down on foam and cut circle or square with razor blade remove foam and you have a place to have your stem ware held in place and they wont bang against each other.
  25. Jerry1938, Welcome to the Forum. Wandering, in my experience, is in the alignment. Have a good shop check it. I have a feeling what you have is a Toe In problem. When the Toe In is not correct, for example toe out, each wheel will be fighting to go straight. Hence forth wandering. Each tire is trying to go straight and is fighting the other tire. Let us know what you find.
