  1. jhalat, Welcome to the Forum. Do you think this unit would work in you M/H?
  2. Ronnie, This may be redundant but how is your Oil level? Is your fuel tank below 1/4 empty? Low oil level and pressure can cause the engine to not start and low fuel, below 1/4, will not let the engine start and run. This is son you wont run the tank empty when running the Gen Set. Just a few thoughts. Thoughts are like giving Chicken soup for a dead person,"I may not help but it can't hurt".
  3. Brett, Is that a standard window cam lock you have to secure your TV up and locked when in transit?
  4. We have Dish Network in our home. We have 2 HDDVRs and one single Receiver. The single receiver is at our farm and when we go on a trip I just take it to the coach and away we go. Most of the time we will have cable where we park but if we don't ,we just use Dish. Some times we aren't able to receive our local channels and I will just call up Dish and they make the change and we are able to get the local channels where we are. When we get back home I just call and they transfer us back. One of there days I plan on changing out our dome for one of the new roof top dishes with 3 LNBs so we can get all three sats.
  5. Tom, Welcome to the Forum. Help me understand. You said that you have made three trips from Chicago to Colorado. I have been to both and my second trip would have been one way. Just Kidding. Brett Wolfe will see this and give you some great advise. Listen to what he says, he knows what he is talking about.
  6. Brett, I hope you don't mind, but I sent your pictures to a friend that also has a Foretravel close to the same year as yours. He is replacing the TV at this time.
  7. Bill, I just saw an ad for a Moderator for a site call iRV2. I thought with your knowledge you might want to apply. http://community.fmca.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/smile.png http://community.fmca.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/laugh.png http://community.fmca.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/biggrin.png http://community.fmca.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/laugh.png http://community.fmca.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/biggrin.png http://community.fmca.com/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/smile.png
  8. John, your welcome. The bolt is copper to make contact to the plate I told you about. Just for kicks and a learning experience take the solenoid apart and check there for arcing. It will help know what happens when you turn the key to start. Let hope this will correct your problems. Happy RVing.
  9. Check out your starter solenoid. When the solenoid activates it pulls the Bendix to engage it at the same time a brass plate is pulled to connect the positive cable and the starter cable. If you can pull the Starter solenoid without pulling the starter you can check to plate. Too many arcs and it becomes burnt. If your plate and contact bolts are arced clean them off (sometimes you can reverse the plate) reassemble and reinstall the solenoid and see if it will start. Doing this will allow you to check the starter before you have to replace it. The starter on my 400 ISL Cummins cost $528.00 to have tech. replace it. Good luck.
  10. Check your voltage from the Positive Terminal to the chassis and not to the Negative Terminal. What you may have is a bad Ground.
  11. Brett is correct about tire pressure. Weigh each wheel and check your tire mfg. chart. If you put the max PSI that is listed on the tire this could be your rough ride problem. Example, your tire is rated at 120 PSI Max. and you put 120 PSI in your tires, on a hot day traveling on the Highway your tires pressure can increase 10 to 15 PSI or more and that = rough ride. Check your weight. Check Mfg. chart. Check your pressure. Adjust your pressure to Mfg. suggested PSI. Go for a ride. Better?
  12. I was stationed in Newfoundland in the 50's (Argencia). I know that was 55+ years ago, but I was wondering how the roads are now? Can you take you MH over on the Ferry? I would love to go back with the DW and see how much it has changed. When we travel to new destinations I love to see thing we have not seen before. But at the same time I like to go places that I haven't seen in many years to see how much they have changed.
  13. Welcome to the Forum. Traveling on I-40 out of Amarillo to Albuquerque has a few sweeping curves and a few hills, but nothing that should be a problem with the DW. However going up to Los Alamos might be a different story. Los Alamos is up quite a bit and the road has some nice curves and steep inclines. Going from Albuquerque to Santa Fe is OK. There are some nice RV parks in Santa Fe. Check them out on rvparkreview.com.
  14. For those in the mid-west or central area try www.rvfogdr.com . Searcy, Arkansas. The Fog Doctor. Owner is Charlie Adcock. Charlie is also the South Central Area of FMCA National Vice President. Tell him Herman sent you. He won't charge you any less but he may give you a hard time. Great folks and Great work.
  15. AH, Word of mouth, the Best advertizing you can get. :) and AH, Word of mouth the Worst advertizing you can get.
  16. Dwight, That is a wonderful story. You and your family should be very proud of your FMCA History.
  17. I can see it now. A big white van with 'EPA' printed on the sides, chasing a Big Motor Home, with lots of Black Bubble coming out of the Vent Stacks, down the Interstate.
  18. rogerf, Welcome to the Forum. Take a picture of one of the hub caps you have and post it here. Someone will be able to help.
  19. Close to what Brett said, I got a new pump up sprayer from Lowes. I removed the spray nozzle took my tubing bender and bent it so it curves down. Keep it full of distilled water when I need to add water to my batteries I just pump it up and I am able to check and fill all with one pump up. I tried the squeeze bottle and it took too long. It works for me because I'm lazy.
  20. Utraveler, just saw a Cycle lift with tow bar connected. http://www.hydralift-usa.com/ take a look here.
  21. Les, I allways thought you wanted it soft before it went into the holding tank. But I guess after might be OK too.
  22. Kathleen, Welcome to the Forum. If I remember correctly The Roadtrek is a Class C made on a dodge Chassis. If so check out J. C. Whitney. You can purchase carpets for most any car or truck made/ You could also check with your local auto uphostery shop and they can make one to fit and you can see and pick out the color and pile you like.
  23. See how great this Forum works. Good luck and I hope everything work out OK.
  24. Are you sure it didn't say E85. If so that means 85% Ethanol. E85 can only be used in Flex-Fuel engines.
  25. Mike, Welcome to the Forum. If you are talking about your controller for your supplemental brake. the answer would be no. The manufacturer doesn't know what kind of supplemental brake you would be using. I would wager that if you look at the back side of your 7 way plug you will find that it is only wired for lights just the same as my pick up.
