Check your voltage from the Positive Terminal to the chassis and not to the Negative Terminal. What you may have is a bad Ground.

Brett is correct about tire pressure. Weigh each wheel and check your tire mfg. chart. If you put the max PSI that is listed on the tire this could be your rough ride problem. Example, your tire is rated at 120 PSI Max. and you put 120 PSI in your tires, on a hot day traveling on the Highway your tires pressure can increase 10 to 15 PSI or more and that = rough ride. Check your weight. Check Mfg. chart. Check your pressure. Adjust your pressure to Mfg. suggested PSI. Go for a ride. Better?

Nova Scotia and Newfoundland
hermanmullins replied to Hawkeye111's question in Destinations/Attractions
I was stationed in Newfoundland in the 50's (Argencia). I know that was 55+ years ago, but I was wondering how the roads are now? Can you take you MH over on the Ferry? I would love to go back with the DW and see how much it has changed. When we travel to new destinations I love to see thing we have not seen before. But at the same time I like to go places that I haven't seen in many years to see how much they have changed. -
Wanted: Travel Information North Half Of New Mexico
hermanmullins replied to davidls911's question in Destinations/Attractions
Welcome to the Forum. Traveling on I-40 out of Amarillo to Albuquerque has a few sweeping curves and a few hills, but nothing that should be a problem with the DW. However going up to Los Alamos might be a different story. Los Alamos is up quite a bit and the road has some nice curves and steep inclines. Going from Albuquerque to Santa Fe is OK. There are some nice RV parks in Santa Fe. Check them out on rvparkreview.com. -
For those in the mid-west or central area try www.rvfogdr.com . Searcy, Arkansas. The Fog Doctor. Owner is Charlie Adcock. Charlie is also the South Central Area of FMCA National Vice President. Tell him Herman sent you. He won't charge you any less but he may give you a hard time. Great folks and Great work.

Dwight, That is a wonderful story. You and your family should be very proud of your FMCA History.

Dawn Dish Soap In Black Water Tank
hermanmullins replied to bizsmith@yahoo.com's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I can see it now. A big white van with 'EPA' printed on the sides, chasing a Big Motor Home, with lots of Black Bubble coming out of the Vent Stacks, down the Interstate. -
rogerf, Welcome to the Forum. Take a picture of one of the hub caps you have and post it here. Someone will be able to help.

Close to what Brett said, I got a new pump up sprayer from Lowes. I removed the spray nozzle took my tubing bender and bent it so it curves down. Keep it full of distilled water when I need to add water to my batteries I just pump it up and I am able to check and fill all with one pump up. I tried the squeeze bottle and it took too long. It works for me because I'm lazy.

Utraveler, just saw a Cycle lift with tow bar connected. http://www.hydralift-usa.com/ take a look here.

Dawn Dish Soap In Black Water Tank
hermanmullins replied to bizsmith@yahoo.com's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Les, I allways thought you wanted it soft before it went into the holding tank. But I guess after might be OK too. -
Kathleen, Welcome to the Forum. If I remember correctly The Roadtrek is a Class C made on a dodge Chassis. If so check out J. C. Whitney. You can purchase carpets for most any car or truck made/ You could also check with your local auto uphostery shop and they can make one to fit and you can see and pick out the color and pile you like.

Place To Stay In RV While At UCLA Medical Center

See how great this Forum works. Good luck and I hope everything work out OK. -
Are you sure it didn't say E85. If so that means 85% Ethanol. E85 can only be used in Flex-Fuel engines.

Auxiliary Power For Supplemental Brake
hermanmullins replied to Yak61's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Mike, Welcome to the Forum. If you are talking about your controller for your supplemental brake. the answer would be no. The manufacturer doesn't know what kind of supplemental brake you would be using. I would wager that if you look at the back side of your 7 way plug you will find that it is only wired for lights just the same as my pick up. -
****, If you let your furnace go out more and enjoy itself it wont rebel like that.

Fill up the water tank. Add bleach-- there is a formula of how much per gallon of water. Take a drive. Run water through all outlets till you smell bleach. Then let it stand for a couple of hours. Drain tank. Fill tank. Run water through all out lets. Drain tank. Fill tank. Again, run water through faucets if no more bleach smell. Drain tanks one more time and refill tank. It is always best to filter the water coming out of the tank and not water going into the tank. There is so much water into and out of the tank during cleaning I have a pump so I can pump the water out faster and can run it into my DWs flower beds.

rutywebb, As Brett asked What is the Make of Coach, What chassis do you have? Solid or independent front end? Do you mean, (1)I stopped and killed the engine or (2) I stopped at a light and started driving again? There can be many different solutions to either one. If it is number 1 I would tend to believe it is in your Power Steering Pump. This may be a stupid question, but have you checked to see if your power steering belt is there? You can drive without the pump working but it would really be Stiff. But when you get moving it becomes easier to steer. If you had bad hoses or leaking pump you would see fluid all over the engine compartment. If it was a loose belt you would hear it squealing every time you turned the steering wheel. This is just my two cents worth. Just like giving Chicken Soup to a dead man, "It may not help, but it can't hurt."

Eric, Brett is correct about both weight and the Law. If your state requires a supplemental braking system and you are involved in an accident without one your Insurance might refuse to cover any claims. Also if you are in an accident and it was not your fault and you did not have the required supplemental braking system you may be considered at fault. Reason being that if you were not in compliance you should not have been on the road. Something to think about. By the way Eric, Welcome to the Forum.

Place To Stay In RV While At UCLA Medical Center
hermanmullins replied to richardstrong's topic in General Discussion
Richard, Welcome to the Forum. I'm sorry that you need a place because of surgery. I hope every thing turn out for the best. Try calling UCLA Medical Center Administration Office and ask them. I'm sure they have been asked before and might suggest a location. They may even have a space where you can park there. Again hope every thing works out. -
Now come on ****, we all know if your didn't have aluminum foil and duct tape you wouldn't have any privacy at all. I don't think one is better then another. What is important is what does the DW want and what will make her happy. That is all that matters. My only thought on blinds is that they rattle going down the road.

Battery Terminal - Side vs Top Terminal Voltage Difference?
hermanmullins replied to dheismann's topic in Electrical
Corroded terminals can limit starting voltage as well as charging ability. Try jumping positive top post to positive side post and the same with the ground. see if it will jump start itself. Then clean the terminals really good -
Water Heater Tank Makes Humming Noise
hermanmullins replied to jhalat's topic in Systems and Appliances
It is very important if you can identify the tune. Is it Current or and Oldie? As Brett said it sound like calcium build up. If you can see the valve tap on it every so lightly. You may be able to dislodge it. Also, you might try blowing out the water line just like you would to winterize it. This also might dislodge the build up.
