  1. deejohnmc, Welcome to the Forum. Yes, you may camp for an extended time, but and it is a big BUT. You will need to run your generator several times each day to recharge your batteries. The Samsung RF 197 will run on your inverter but for only as long as they are charged. Remember the Fridge is not the only thing you will be using, water pump, radio, clock, TV and more. I have dry camped for 2 maybe 3 days but also ran my generator several time a day to maintain the charge. Herman
  2. Are you saying it is emails that you receive from FMCA and no others? Is it from just one person at FMCA multiple people. Check with this fellow and ask him about your issue. Jason Gabbard (jgabbard@fmca.com) The FMCA office is closed until 1/2/19. Herman
  3. As Carl said, Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year. Be safe and say a prayer for all our Active Military Personnel around the world and for all our Veterans Herman
  4. The Maxxair moonwink mentioned are good to keep the sum off low quality vent covers and with them you can travel with the vent of if you are so inclined. Boatman, be sure and measure the height of the coach including top of the air conditioner. An Alpha is basically taller because of the high ceiling. That is why they put the marginal A/C in the basement. You can see the problems from the topic here on clearance issues. Herman
  5. I have never seen that on the website. Could it be you have gotten some Malware at some time? (not sure if I spelled it correctly) Herman
  6. On some of the older secondary roads the sign is on the overpass and not visible till it's too late. To change that would take a big undertaking that states don't have the monies for. So driver beware. Herman
  7. I will go off topic and ask, how is that 3 year old fighter? We all hope and pray he is doing well. Herman
  8. Mark, A good description of your would be a lot of help. If you or Elizabeth could put the description in your signature it will speed up responses. It is best to know the height of your coach so when traveling this beautiful country of ours and you come to an overpass you would know if you can make it under safley. Good luck and happy travels (when you get the coach back.) Herman
  9. Just to add to Dan's commit. When you logon to fmca.com go to the right and click on the speedometer symbol, the screen will change. Then on the left side scroll down and your will see MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY. Click on it and wala, you can look up any members, if their dues are current. Herman
  10. This OP has only made one post on Nov. 27, 2017. He has only visited the Forum 2 times. Maybe we should close this topic. Anyone care? Herman
  11. Joe, my nephew was a certified Ford (ASE or whatever it's called). He told me that Ford torque converter had a small drain plug where it can be drained. Do you know if that is still true on the newer transmission? It has been about 10 years since Jeff was working as a tech. Herman
  12. Bill, they have made a deal with "Hankook". It want be announced for a bit cause they are doing test on the system, dealers and so forth. But it should be ready soon. Herman
  13. Bill, there are so many things I could say about your issue,. So I will just say, glad you got it fixed. Herman
  14. Puff & Joe, A loose ground, just a bit corrosion and or a slightly rubbed or frayed wire can give you untold issues with a coach. They are hard to find and will be in the darnedest place. Keep up the good advice and suggestion. Herman
  15. Ken, I can't speak on the Trailhawk per say but Blue Ox is a good choice. However if you run a line from the coach just for the brake, what happens if you have a brake away. Will the Blue Ox brake away still work? My suggestion would be to connect the brake system to your vehicle battery and run a charge line to keep the battery charged. Just a thought. Herman
  16. To be sure, check the tires Mfg. Dates on the coach. Make sure they are not more than 3 to 4 months old. But heck, you know that. Herman
  17. To expound on what Carl, Joe and Rich said, There are alway Battery Gremlins that try their darndest to suck down your batteries. As said if you have electricity where you store your coach, leave it plugged in. This will allow your inverter to maintain your house batteries. But you will need a small charger to maintain your chassis batteries. I have one that is plugged into my Block Heater outlet. It is only hot when your are connected to shore power or when running your generator. Mine is mounted in my battery compartment. It chargers my house batteries then maintains they 24/7 when it is in the barn. Hope this helps. Herman
  18. Wayne is correct. Even if dry camping in a WalMart parking lot will still cost you $25.00 +, I know from experience. When you go into the store just to ask for permission to park, which i always do, you will end up shopping. Herman
  19. 67, It sound to me like the heating element is burnt out. As Carl said call A/H and ask for a service center close to you. 800-685-4298 Herman
  20. Maybe being able to post to the Forum may have join FMCA. Then we may have a new member. a hard worker, a new chapter member and possibly volunteer, who knows. "Only the Shadow Knows" Herman

Barbara, Welcome to the Forum. It would help if you would post the make, model length and year of your coach. But as a start, since your husband was able to reach up and move the door lever coule he also feel if there is a hose connected to the back of the actuator that operates the level. It may be as simple as a loose or disconnected vacuum hose. Or if it is manual (a wire or cable) operation the wire or cable may be off. Either way if you could post the information on your coach someone with the same unit my have a solution. Glad to have you on the Forum, Herman
  22. Park on your new gravel and you can break it in with oil drips till you get the "O" ring. It's going to happen some time might as well be now then later. Herman
