Serendipity! Groundhog Says Winter Is Over
hermanmullins replied to aufgeblassen's topic in General Discussion
Depends if it were run over by a car or a farm truck. It does make a difference. I think is has something to do with how much farm stuff is on the tires. Down South Armadillo is called Opossum on the Half Shell. Lots and lots of butter, MMMM.😂 Herman -
Thanks volvolcom, Now I am up to speed. I would do as Carl said, change to the correct size tire and see if you can sell the others or may be get something for them as an trade in where you get the new correct tires. Good luck and let us know how it works out. Herman

Ditto on Brett & Carl, alignment is recommended when installing Safe-T-Plus. Toe in is a big issue in alignment. If it is in too much or out too much you will have constant wandering as each wheel is trying hard to go straight and neither can get there. Once you have the alignment correct then you may install the Safe-T-Plus to help with sudden movement. Good luck and let us know how you worked out your issue. Herman

volcom, I am getting confused with all that has been said. You have 275-75R x 22.5 on the front and 275-70R x 22.5 on the rear correct? Are those the size the Manufacturer put on in the Factory? Many do. If that is the case I myself would as the old saying goes "Dance with the one that brung ya." IMHO I would stay with what the manf. put on in the first place and travel down the road. Herman

As Carl said, Welcome to FMCA and the Forum. You have just enlarged your family by approx 168,000. (78, 000 members). Don't forget they all expect a Christmas card. Hope to see that nice rig at Perry and or Minot. Herman

Now I know. Thanks. This is why when I have a tire issue I go to a shop. Then I stand back and watch incase I am every am in a situation where I must do it myself. Which I pray I never have to do it. Again thanks to all. Herman

Eric, only answer this request in a PM. It isn't good to give out such information to the public. Herman Forum Moderator. -

Ditched my Towing and Roadside Assistance
hermanmullins replied to hayesfamily's topic in Roadside Assistance
Keon, I have Roadside Assistance in my Insurance policy from Farm Bureau which is included with no extra cost. However I read my policy and the max they will pay is up to $120.00 for a tow. My FMCA Roadside Assistance , $69.00 per year, covers me with no max. to tow to the nearest Authorized Service Center. I agree "what is good for the goose is not alway good for the gander". Your policy may have better towing than mine. Good to hear from you and the family. Herman -
Rod, As for the step dragging, I would have the ride height adjustment checked. Sounds to me like it may have your front end a bit too low. As for the other part Rich and Kay are spot on. Herman

Some say to lower the jacks about 4 inches and then check the level. That method to me might over fill the unit. Might I suggest that you contact the maker of your jacks and ask them. Good luck. Herman

NO Spare Tire In Smaller Class Cs These Days?
hermanmullins replied to aufgeblassen's topic in Type C Motorhomes
Now just think about this. You are in the middle of nowhere and you have a flat. What good would it do to have a spare tire without a rim? Would you have the tools to dismount the old tire, mount the spare tire and air it up? Wouldn't it better if you are carrying the spare tire on the rack to carry a complete tire mounted on a rim? Then in the middle of nowhere you could at least change the tire and get back to the middle of somewhere? If you are that far out it would be hard to get Roadside Assistance to find you. Just something to think about. Herman -

Did you ever learn what the bull was doing to the cow? Herman -

I have a dash mounted GPS. I set my speed by that because when doing 70 by my GPS my speedometer shows 65 mph. Just as yours does. On the highway I normally set my cruise at 63 mph which is right at 1750 rpm. Seems the best for economy. Herman

Replaced my two front 295/80R22.5 last year and plan on replacing my rear 6 later this year. Two Toyo's for the price of one Michelin's and they ride and steer very well. Herman
-
Richard, I know you have questions of 12R22.5 or 315/80R225. Just my thinking but you said it came 12R22.5s. Wouldn't they be ok since the manufacturer thought so? Herman
