  1. Edward, Welcome to the Forum Short of hiding the coach in an enclosed building covering it with a sheet of plywood there isn't much that can be done to prevent rock chips and cracks. So go and enjoy road and let the chips fall where they can. (Pun intended) Herman
  2. IMHO this is an issue for the factory. It sounds like a structure problem. Herman
  3. Our A/C would need Freon and when I charged it it would work fine for maybe a day. Did the same with R134A and Stop Leak. Same results. Got out my trusty wrenches and checked all connections. All were tight but one. It took maybe no more than 1/4 turn on the Hi Pressure line at the compressor. Hasn't leaked a drop since. I did spend a bit more then $19.00 on Freon and Stop leak before i found the problem. Herman
  4. See if you can find someone with a 2002 Georgie Boy Cruise Master and see if you can take lots of pictures. Then it may be easier to rebuild the system. Herman
  5. Byron, It has been since Friday that Betty had her knee replaced, how is she doing? We are all keeping you both in our prayers. Herman
  6. As dd69 said there is a switch for the step when on the step will go in and out as the door is open and closed. Leaving the step out while in storage is not a bad thing. It help the person breaking in a place to step. The devil made do it. Herman
  7. Does it have wooden spokes and axles? Herman
  8. Erniee, I agree on Starlight but Ryan has one of the buildings from where he has Ryan's RV Repair. I have not used him myself but have heard he does good work. Herman
  9. I put our RF-18 down at floor level.(No furnace) I had space at the top (about 8") and made a cabinet door that hinged up. There I repositioned my electric and water. I can change the water filter with no problem. I secured the unit to a board with recesses in it for the adjustable front feet and with "L" at the top. Tht board at the bottom was to support the unit because it protruded out about 3" . Herman
  10. Bill, we are talking about insurance companies and "sis ounted orices" make about as much sense as any insurance company does. Herman
  11. RR, I do not know where you are located but in McKinney there is a shop called Ryan's RV Repair. His shop is East of McKinney on Hwy 380. He has his shop in a building at a place called Mr Olivers RV. 214-244-1203. Give him a call he may be able to help. Herman
  12. GABob, What I believe you were quoted at the Ford House may have been for a complete rim and tire. I looked at your coach and it looks to have steel rims in the 19.5 size. That may have been a bit high but not too far out of range. Herman

  14. Border to border 2,087.1 miles. It would cost at least $1.08 per mile (Government allowance). 2,087.1miles one way X 2 coaches= 4,174.2 miles X 2 (round trip) = 8,348.4 miles X $1.08 per mile =$8,348.40. (this does not include departure point and destination point) Hmmmm. Herman
  15. Richard, The element can be purchased at you box store, Lowe's or Home Depot. They are 110 volt elements. If you have to old one out take it with you to compair. In my last coach I replaced mine from Lowe's. I prefer Lowe's over Home Depot in our area. Herman
  16. Little300Z, Welcome to the Forum That is a nice thought for the Families. There are some companies that I am sure can accommodate you but. I feel the Cost would be prohibited. Herman
  17. monacowatts, That is good to know. When you lowered the platform down closer to the furnace was there still sufficient room as for it to not get it too hot? Herman
  18. Our prayer are with Betty and you. Hope she continues to get better. Herman
  19. Mac, Contact either Jason Gabbard or Larry Pennington I will PM you with their contact Info. Herman
  20. Joe, the coach went into their shop on a Thursday around 4 pm. They ran a short diagnostic and said that it would be the next morning to do a full check. We parked in one of their three 50 amp/full hook ups.On Friday morning they found the problem and had to order the part from Overland Park Kansas. The first shift a had removed everything but the pump. The pump arrived around 4 PM and the second shift remove and replaced the pump.

They finished up at 1:45 AM Saturday morning. Just as I signed the credit card ticket the tech came in to say there was a problem, leaking oil. They offered to stay and get it done but I told them to go home and when the shop opened on Monday morning (closed Sat. and Sun.) to get on it.

We moved the coach back to the hook up and on Monday morning they got right on it and had us out by 2 PM. I told them they did a good job and that "S" happens.

I did get another ticket with a $972.00 charge and then showed a $972.00 credit. Their paperwork trace.

The leak turned out to be the "O Ring" that seals the port for the oil to the pump for lubrication. If either fell out when putting the pump in or failed to put it on in the first place.

All and all it wasn't too bad of an experience.

    Herman

  21. My hi-pressure fuel pump went out when we were headed to the Rally in Indianapolis. It cost $5,026.05. Herman
  22. There are laws on the books, I know there are in Texas, about restraints for all persons in an Automobile. How about Motor Homes? I would be interested in hearing about such laws, not hearsay but factual laws. I for one have carried Grand Kids and adults on my couch. The kids have been in the bedroom watching a video and such.
