Look for "Blue Beacon Truck Wash". They do a good job and are quite reasonable. They can be found at many truck stops. I have found them at lots of Pilot/Flying Js. Don't let them acid wash the wheels. Not good for them, ruins the shine. Herman

Richard, Without seeing the Panels your idea seem best. I don't know much about solar panels, do these require a controller? If so will it be in a secure place? Herman

Type A gas motorome roof water damage
hermanmullins replied to gregsisk's topic in Type A motorhomes
Greg, Welcome to the Forum. Sorry to hear about your dilemma. I would google RV Roof Replacement and see if you can find a company that will repair the trusess, replace any decking and replace the roof fiberglass. Don't tell them your budget, their bid may be lower. Good luck. Herman -
DBenoit, There will be lots of 'Oh Crap' I forgot ***. It will happen on your first trip and on many more after that. Please don't push yourself to get there in a hurry. You must take a rest (a good night's sleep). Better to arrive rested than to tired to do anything. What ever you are going to see will still be there. Be safe and enjoy the new adventure. Heramn

Jar, Give RV Glass Solutions a call. They are in the magazine. They speclize in RVs. They will work with your insurance and have the windshield sent to service center close to you that knows RVs. Great folks. Herman

Kirk, Welcome to the Forum. Did the coach sit for a long time without a lot of driving? Just thinking you may have some old gas. Have you tried adding a fuel conditioner? I would try adding a double of the recommended amount and drive the coach. Also just to be sure of how it was maintained I would change the fuel filter. Herman

RESIDENTIAL REPLACEMENT RECOMMENDATION FOR 4 DOOR NORCOLD
hermanmullins replied to garygalla's topic in Modifications
As has been stated. Size on all fronts. Measure your opening, height, width an depth. Then find a unit that fits within those measurements. I would suggest looking at a Samsung since they work on both pure and modified sine wave inverters and draw very little amps. Next check the size of your inverter. You will need a 2,000 watt min. Then check the available amps in your battery. As I said it's all about size. Good luck and ask if you need more help. Herman -
Rich, I have air leveler only. I always dump the air, then start the auto level. With our last coach I had jacks but would also dump the air then start the auto leveling. In doing this the Jacks don't have so far to level. Just the way I did it. Herman

Kay, I know you aware of it but Jacks for Safety. Would hate to see a picture of your feet coming out from under the Bus. Herman

There is a fairly complete listing in the magazine this month. Herman -
Mark, I believe your coach came with Bilsteins. I myself would go with the same. Herman

TT, I have found that if I am in tall grass or the woods one thing that will wart off Chiggers and Ticks is Sulfur. I keep a sock with Sulfur in it in a zip lock bag. when needed I just dust my shoe, ankles and trouser with it. Works for me, haven't had a Tick or Chiggers in a very long time. Herman

Now that is different. Nice job it looks good. Herman

Arkansas SR-7 SB from Harrison, AR to Hot Springs, AR
hermanmullins replied to mac8253's question in Destinations/Attractions
I would do SR 7 in my truck in a heartbeat. Beautiful trip. In my Motor Home, no way. From Hot Springs to Russellville bad. Russellville to Harrison there are at least three runaway lanes. Really bad. I would take 70 out of Hot Springs to Little Rock then I-430 North to I-40. I-40 West to Conway. Then Hwy 65 to Harrison. Herman -
Trying to Figure Out the Winnebago Warranty System
hermanmullins replied to jbellona's topic in Type A motorhomes
I handled all of the Warranty Claims for a boat Dealer. Which I agree has a different mind set. Here is how the Boat dealer worked. We were dealers for Skeeter and Champion Bass boats with OMC, Mercury and Yamaha engines. There were certain guidelines for payment. If you qualified by meeting all of the requirements you were paid at the standard Flat Rate. I had to request replacement parts for what we used. Both the labor and parts were credited to our account and deducted from you statement. I did have to review all statements to be sure we received credit. On any part that was supplied with their product but not manufactured by them had to be returned before credit was issued. Plano Marine was and is still considered one of the most reputable dealer in the industry and know far and wide that if you had an issue that was under warranty on matter where you purchased your unit, you would be taken care of in the order where you came in. We gain many new customer in doing so. I can't understand this in the RV industry. Treat a customer fair and you will gain a customer for life. Treat them like second class folks and the negative publicity will follow them forever. Herman -
If you know what your route will be, get out your map and see which towns you are likely to pass through. Then go to rvpaksreview.com and check out Nat. or State Parks, campgrounds or resorts along the way. Herman
