  1. Yup, if safe working around alternating current, I would start by testing at ATS for generator IN and power OUT to main breaker box.
  2. Bottom line-- DO NOT DRIVE UNTIL THIS IS PROPERLY DIAGNOSED. It takes only a little antifreeze circulating through the transmission to cost you a new transmission.
  3. If the tire dealer lets the warehouse man know that you will only accept tires no older than XX, pretty strong suspicion that it what would be sent. These tire dealers and tire manufacturer warehouse men have a working relationship to keep on a high level.
  4. Actually, the lines from transmission through radiator are for BOTH faster heating to operating temperature when cold AND for cooling under high-temperature situations in the transmission.
  5. kliwks, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. I would disagree with the dealer who down-played production date-- you are very likely (like over 95%) to replace the tires based on TIME, not tread wear. So, no guarantee of date code, no sale (to me at least). And, all it would take is a call from the dealer to the warehouse to ask the stock man to "help him out" with this. On every tire purchase in the last decade, I have specified the minimum DOT number (last 4) that I would accept. Even got Sam's Club to order fresh tires for our toad that way! You will hear discussions on each side of the "balance rear tires" argument. As the dealer said, very few balance them--- much heavier weight on that axle and with 2 on each side, likely to "self-balance". But, if you are detail orientated, pay the extra and have them balanced-- OR drive, and if ANY vibration in the coach that is not in the steering wheel, have the rears balanced then.
  6. "Coolant", yes in quotes first goes to freezer. If for any reason cooling BTU's/performance are limited, the freezer will cool, before the refrigerator. So, let's start with the basics: Tell us the age, brand and model of your refrigerator. Same performance of 120 vs propane? If worse on propane, when was the last time you did a "burner area tune-up?
  7. According to the website: https://rvroof.com/find-a-location/ 2901 East State Highway 29 Bertram, TX 78605
  8. Yup, prevailing winds are off the Gulf of Mexico.
  9. Agreed. But, particularly for a newbie/first time poster, not unreasonable that there are warnings, especially if this is their first experience with large tires.
  10. Bill, I believe this is the important part of the warning that Roger posted: " You should never re-inflate a tire that has been operated "Flat" Flat means after losing 20% of the minimum inflation needed to carry the load." I do not read that as "you can't add 5 PSI to a tire". I read that as "if there is a likelihood that the tire is damaged, do not stand in front of it while inflating.
  11. One we enjoy (being sailors as well) is: http://www.serendipitybayresort.com/ A little further south, Rockport is also a popular destination with several RV parks.
  12. eyler@cox.net, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Please tell us a little more about what you want: rustic or resort? Near water important? What kind/size RV? There are over 300 miles of Gulf coast in TX plus the Rio Grande Valley. I am sure you can find what you are looking for.

    12 V problems

I am surprised that that solenoid is between the house battery bank and the 12 VDC fuse panel. Said another way, I doubt it is involved in getting house bank power to the fuse panel (unless you need the "battery combine" feature that activating the solenoid provides). Locate the fuse panel and work back toward the batteries. Do you have the wiring diagram for your 12 VDC system from Winnebago?

    12 V problems

OK, where does the yellow wire get its power?

    12 V problems

12.7 VDC is a fully charged battery. BUT no change in voltage on shore power AND nothing working when shore power/generator off suggests a problem between battery bank and you 12 VDC distribution panel. From Winnebago you should be able to get a wiring schematic. Work from batteries toward 12 VDC distribution panel and see where you loose voltage readings.

    12 V problems

Are these 6 VDC batteries? If so, verify that they are hooked in SERIES: Positive of battery #1 to house positive. Negative of battery #1 to positive of battery #2 Negative of battery #2 to chassis ground Voltage measure from positive of battery #1 to negative of battery #2= 12+ VDC. Probably in low 13's with shore power on for awhile (inverter/charger in float mode).

    12 V problems

And, what does voltage measure at the battery with shore power and generator OFF? And, then with shore power connected/generator on?
  18. Could be a bad check valve. Could also be that the valve you turn to add water is not sealing completely. Either will allow/cause the pump to cycle, yet not leak water externally. Open and close the fill valve a couple of times in case a piece of minerals is not allowing complete closure.

    12 V problems

Don't think the inverter/charger is the problem. When on shore power or generator, all 12 VDC works, so charger section IS working. What is voltage at the house battery bank with shore power or generator on and then after it has been off for an hour. Assume you have checked battery water level and that battery connections are clean and tight.
  20. Boating is about ALL you can do in Sargent, TX! Just east of East Matagorda Bay. We enjoy Placious (Serendipity RV Park which overlooks the marina).
  21. One question first: How much of a hurry are you in. Indeed if trying to make time, I 10 is the way to go. But, when we are headed west and have time, we much prefer U.S. 90 from San Antonio to Van Horn. Much more to see. Good 2 land road all the way with very little traffic.
  22. Ralph, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Are you asking for condition of the road or weather right now on that road? If asking what the road is like (assuming weather OK), I use googlemap to get satellite view and if questionable, "drop the little man" to get street level view. You can scroll along the whole route in a couple of minutes. https://www.google.com/maps/search/+George+Millican+Rd++Burns,+Oregon/@44.165862,-120.9116083,4687a,35y,44.25t/data=!3m1!1e3 SO, with no first hand information, just that gained from using the link above, if weather is not an issue, I would not hesitate to use that road. Yes, not overly wide, but likely very little traffic.
  23. Guys, We are straying WAY off course from the original topic. Please, let's get this back to "Forever Tape" (assuming we get enough information to evaluate it). Thanks. Moderator
  24. Yes, EternaBond has been around for a long time and is a well respected product. I have used it and respect it.
